Best known for their silly, sometimes slightly inappropriate underwear commercials, Duluth Trading Co. is no joke. Per my husband, their "Buck Naked" boxers are even better than advertised. But I'm not here to review purchased items, I'm here to review the company's Port Washington store. Located on the southern end of the downtown strip, this store has a "woodsey" feel. There is much more product in the store than I initially anticipated and one could spend a fair amount of time browsing everything from womens and mens apparel to dog accessories to cook books to candies. There are many unique items that make fun gifts for relatives and friends; I often come here to find something for that hard-to-shop-for person. I have been in this store many times and it is always clean and well organized. The associates are friendly. However, a strange phenomenon occurs in this space. Time does not seem to exist. Not for the customers, not for the employees, just not at all. Ever. Don't get me wrong, the calm atmosphere is relaxing and I dont enjoy the hustle and bustle ever. It's often a neccessary evil. However, it should not take 40 minutes to make a simple exchange with 2 cashiers and a customer at each register. When an older lady tried to cut in front of me in line, after I waited all that time, I nearly lost my cool. The snail's pace is my only issue about this store. I do reccomend checking it out if you are in the area, and definitely for a unique gift item. Just know that it isn't a store you can just run in and run out. read more

Service is excellent. The employees are very knowledgeable about the merchandise. They have a wide variety of clothes for both men and women. They are lacking in clothes for plus size women though. Expensive but worth the extra cost since they are so well made and last forever. read more

I'd seen (and been entertained by) Duluth Trading ads for years so we decided to check them out while visiting Port. They specialize in apparel that wears like iron, shirts that hide your buttcrack, jeans that won't pinch your balls when you squat and underwear that apparently is impervious to stink. Cool. So they do have ladies stuff, and it's a pretty specific "style" that isn't necessarily mine. Think LL Bean/Eddie Bauer flannels, mom jeans (still got bootcuts here!) and puffer jackets and hiking boots. Really good stuff for outdoorsy folk which I am most emphatically not. That said, I did find I delightful lightweight jacket that in no way turns my arms into useless TRex appendages. Prices are high but you are definitely getting top quality with a guarantee for life. Employees are SUPER helpful - the Mister couldn't find the right shoe and they tipped us off to a nearby place that carries larger sizes. Know that Duluth Trading DOES carry men's shoes up to 14 AND has ladies pants in different inseams. Like I said, the styles aren't necessarily my jam but if you need quality stuff that will last forever - or you need jeans that won't pinch your balls - check them out. read more

If you are plus size woman, don't bother going to Duluth trading company! Like Kohl's, TJ Maxx, and other big name stores, they ONLY carry plus size clothing ONLINE.... If you are a guy who wears Big and Tall, you're out of luck too, they ONLY carry big and tall ONLINE...... Try talking to the sales people or customer support for duluth trading company and their more than happy to admit that they don't carry plus sizes or big and tall sizes in the store anymore, but you can order it ONLINE (for double the price). read more

I love Duluth. This usually annual stop for Christmas Shopping, trying to find that gift for the guy or gal that has everything. There are plenty of neat trinkets/gear to browse along with their different brands of outdoor wear. I've found they usually stock at least one of every size on the shelves. It seemed sort of sacrosanct, my heading to the Duluth Trading Co. on the day Bucky played Minnesota in football. But my worry was for naught! Good karma prevailed, from a Wisconsin win to scoring a trifecta of great holiday gifts. What awesome stuff they have here. It screams value from the shelf. The hand (the feel) of these durable clothing goods are superior and the quality is evident. And on the day I shopped everything was 30 percent off. Such a deal! I selected a birthday gift for my dad after picking the brain of one of the salespeople on sizing. We decided to go with an extra large because that's his frame even though he's smaller through the waist. Did I mention the salespeople are charming? Now you know. I bought a lovely blue and black checked flannel shirt with a hint of yellow. A black turtleneck and a khaki twill hat rounded it all out. Rather disappointed in ladies free range cotton underware at 18 dollars you would expect higher quality. The threads are poking through where the legs go on each side. I got so sick of being scratched when I walked i snipped them with scissors. How frustrating is that? However the men's long tail tees last. You figure. Make sure you check your receipts and that they correctly match the price tag attached to your item. My experience on my last visit was that the price charged was higher than the priced attached to the shirt I selected. When returning the item to get charged the lower price, I was told that the price had gone up! Well if the price did indeed go up, your job is to put the correct price tag. Note the Duluth Trading No Bull Guarantee. I have a pair of Fire Hose work pants and a pair of similar shorts. The Fire Hose pants are almost exactly two years old. Coming out of yesterday's laundry there were big holes in the legs above the knees. I sent pictures to customer service who told me that their No Bull Guarantee applied. I didn't think that was fair, so after one of the more surreal negotiations I have ever been part of we agreed on a small discount (as opposed to a complete refund) on replacement pants. Made my first trek to DTC and was amazed by the quality of the products. More importantly, their customer service was off-the-chart excellent. Went to the Arlington, TX store and was amazed by the service. Mark is AWESOME. Ask for him as he and Gabe really know their products. Also met Kirk Garza, a manager in the store. Beautiful location. A store where I could easily spend $1000 if I had the money. Went in to try on boots. The 13M were too tight. They did not have 13W in store in 4-inch. Staff went out of their way to have me try the same boot in 13W with 6-inch to make sure the width was good. It was. I now have full confidence to place the order online! The clothing sizes are ridiculously large here. I am NOT in any way shape or form a MEDIUM. XL is much more likely. But, with the clothes here, I'm a medium or a trim medium. Since when is a 44" chest a medium? Regardless, the clothing seems to be well made. Some of it supposedly containing microscopic particles of jade for better heat transfer away from your body. I did buy a belt. I would definitely go back when I'm in a shopping mood, but recall the huge upsizing of the brand. I worry if I was ideal weight that I'd need an extra small... Prices are a bit on the high side, but you can buy a belt with a lifetime guarantee for $68. read more

Duluth trading company has high quality outdoor and work clothing. I first checked out the store after they had the grand opening. It is set up with a boutique feel and has women's clothing and men's. The clothing is fairly expensive but because of its high quality- you get what you pay for. The back of the store has miscellaneous gift items and accessories. The store also has hand cream that my father swears by. Heck if my pops will only use their hand cream it has to be golden. If you need a new pair of work pants or are just looking for a high quality tank top or overalls this is the place to check out. I love their clothes but the store could use a few improvements. I get their catalogs in the mail and whenever I go in to this store to get something on sale it's never marked as a sale price, I just wish they would put up sale signs sometime. That said I've loved everything I've bought here. Their flex ballroom jeans are the most comfortable jeans I've ever worn. I work a desk job where jeans are allowed so I get good use out of them. It took nearly daily wear for a year for them to wear out and even then just the zipper broke. I wear my heavyweight flannel constantly. Everyone should know about the Duluth Trading Company. Everything in the store is top quality. Not only is it a wonderful place to find clothes that will last you the rest of your life; but it is full of items that you won't find anywhere else (bay rum aftershave, anyone?). You will find yourself saying "dang, I haven't seen these/this in years". This is definitely a destination store. Popular with tourists and locals alike. You just might find something you can't live without; but it will cost you. This is not a discount mall. You get what you pay for. Getting hungry after your shopping?
