She was always so friendly and flirty with me. Last night I came with my new partner. As soon as we walked in, she was standing nearby and she looked angry seeing us together. The rest of the night, all I could feel were her eyes on me from afar. At one point, she passed by me and secretly caressed my ass. I felt very uncomfortable and asked my partner if we could leave right after. I didn't feel safe asking for a manager to report her as she's already a supervisor security there. This is supposed to be a safe space and I DID NOT FEEL SAFE!!! Apparently from another person there, she gets "around" with girls there and even denied someone entry because they were no longer together. I would think she would be more respectful and keep it professional. I DID NOT CONSENT FOR HER TOUCHING ME LAST NIGHT!!! It's gross to think this is their employer. I will no longer be going back and neither will some of my other friends. It sucks, I really loved that party.

Afterwards the dancers of the group did a quick little choreo in the mirror. I hear their prices are very reasonable for broke creatives needing space for their crafts. I say folks should take advantage now before their prices go up because that space is lowkey perfect for any dance or performance/practice needs.

I came here yesterday with my friends to go see MC Jin and it was a sold out venue. The main stage was pretty lit especially the lit up sign on stage. When MC Jin came on stage there was a huge standing ovation. I had a good time with his material and I admired his enthusiasm that did not let me down nor did I ever got bored. He kept the audience going on and alive. So I wish Second City had more food options because it just got 4 items for food. You got pickles, hummus, and fries for appetizers and only one entree on the menu, which is a burger with fries. That's not a lot of food options. My friends and I got fries and hummus to share. The portions were large for sharing. The hummus included pita bread, cucumbers, red bell peppers, and carrots. Pretty filling. Now with the drinks, Second City had a huge list. I ended up getting Learn Chinese cocktail, which is exclusively for the MC Jin venue. I was disappointed at the contents and how much was in my glass. They did not fill it up to the top. It was like 2/3s of the cocktail in the glass when they served it to me. I was so shocked at how little it was. It also did not get me hooked. It felt like nothing although it did taste fruity. I should have gotten a draft beer or something else instead.

It's a "combined live-work space and presentation arena for international artists across multiple disciplines". I came for a BYOB music event with Hundred Hounds. It was my birthday week and I was determined to have champagne on ice. Two days worth of ice cube making and it was a success! Ice cold bubbly on a balmy summer's day with the Hounds, 2 DJs and a light show. On my Top 10 list of nights-out for sure. The artwork inside the residence made me wish I had Patron-level kind of money to drop. There were quite a few pieces by the founder Sol Kjøk that I was really smitten with. I'm name dropping one Danish director and a Norwegian artist... add my fascination with Scandinavian furniture, I have a bit of a thing going on. Given the location, not too far from the G and not too close to residential buildings, you can experience the roof deck entertainment space to its fullest. There were a few plastic chairs about, but the best view was from the rooftop ledge. Full Manhattan views to the West, the lovingly lit "Shit Tits" sewage treatment plant of Greenpoint to the East. The coolest, raw, rooftop venue reminiscent of my beloved old gritty NYC. I am looking forward to hitting it again.

Each show is choreographed by someone employed by XIV. This is unique and you won't see it anywhere else (anyone old enough to remember the mass produced cheer routines from Bring it On?) This is truly a welcoming space, everyone can come here and be themselves. The bodies are lithe, svelte, glistening, beautiful. The acrobatics can't be matched. I am always astounded at the beauty of the erotic ballet numbers. I think those are my favorite part. The deep, soulful vocals of the diva singers can't be forgotten either. I think I've said before, I've done the couples couches and the small chairs along the stage. The small chairs are a better value and really a better view for most things, unless something is from the ceiling behind you. You can also upgrade with things like champagne and cocktails. But overall, if you get one of the small stage seats, a very affordable night out. And you can kill some time across the street at JukeBar (reviewed separately).

They have 2 intermissions. The show is a little under 2 hours. It starts a few minutes after 8 pm. The performers are insanely talented. I would recommend to any charity looking for decent budget space. It was a smaller cozy place, good for less than 60 people standing including 20 people or so sitting. The venue was safe and clean space for us to use. It was easy to setup and put things back when it was time. On to the owner of the space -- I felt that Nyssa, went above and beyond to make sure the event was a success! She was helpful with all details, prompt and great to work with. She is a very kind and down to earth person who cared about our efforts in this event. In the future I hope to host another SAAM event. Of course, if need to a venue like this again, being it's not booked up. Nyssa's The Living Art Gallery will be my go and the main place I'd ever recommend to anyone in need of a venue. A class of Picassos in the making depending on how quickly you take the glasses down :) Unfortunately the model did not show, but we were given a clothed model instead which was fine by me as a beginner. All supplies were included, paper, coal, pencils, pastels etc and it was a really fun, welcoming environment. The best part was that later that night, unbeknownst to us, there was an open mic planned with incredibly talented spoken word poets, rappers, etc. We stayed the whole night and were so inspired! Very cool!
