We had a 50+ year old non-standard lock that we needed to fix. Another locksmith "service" sent…read moresomeone to the house for an $80 fee just to look and told us it would cost hundreds of dollars. I removed the lock and brought it to Shaw's actual, local store in Bergenfield, and they quickly understood what I needed and very inexpensively made the repair. My advice - don't use a "service" claiming to be in the area that then subs out a job, but find an actual, established local locksmith. We couldn't be more happy with Shaw's work and we'll definitely use them again.

The locksmith/owner took the lock and deadbolt apart and then reassembled it and checked the jam where the deadbolt sits when locked / he readjusted the jam. Tested the key himself and then had me test the mechanism inside my home and using a key outdoors. He also Tighten the screws to the front door to assure a Perfect smooth operation. I then went to Atlas, where I should have gone initially. The counterman cut my 2 keys while I waited and they worked perfectly. When I went to pay, we both learned that the store's WiFi was down and he couldn't process my credit card. He took my phone number and told me to take my keys and he'd call me when his WiFi came back up. This is the way to run a local business.
