As someone who grew up Southern, cornfed meat, potatoes and gravy redneck, it took my wife years to…read moreconvince me to finally try something at this restaurant. Anytime we visited the casino, she would go to Asia and I would go across the hall to get a hot dog. I finally gave in a couple years ago and joined her at Asia. While I'm still a picky eater, I must say I was astounded at the quality and freshness of the food we were served. My must haves are the firecracker shrimp and General Sam's Shrimp. The firecracker shrimp have the perfect amount of creamy heat banged with the present crisp of the fried shrimp. It's not overwhelmingly spicy but just right if you like a little heat. The creaminess of the sauce helps balance the spice. If you're up for it add a glass of ice water and order their best Saki to truly enjoy the experience. The General Saos shrimp is equally amazing. It's a delicate balance of sweet and savory with a hint of heat. Admittedly, I wouldn't be mad if it had a little more heat but my perspective is usually after spending hours in the casino and I'm looking to burn the demons of sin from my soul with spices. The spousal unit typically orders Hunan Chicken which I've sampled and it is definitely as savory and fresh. I lean toward dishes with a little spice and heat but it is very flavorful. The waitstaff is always very attentive no matter the hour and this restaurant is now our must visit every time we visit Lake Charles no matter where we stay.

Meh. Food was okay for me, but nothing you can't get at Panda Express…read more My BF, however, loved the General TSO chicken. He said it was the best he's ever had. Hence the three stars. We were at the casino for a concert, and wanted to go to Johnny Sanchez. When we got to JS's, for some reason they had a very limited menu. It was basically just appetizers and a burger. That would have been good for me, but my companions wanted more. I'm not a huge fan of Chinese food, so I ordered veggie fried rice, Mike ordered the aforementioned TSO chicken, and our friend Ruthie had beef with broccoli. She said it was good. The service was average. Not attentive enough for me-I had to flag her down to get to-go boxes and the check. Like I said: meh.

Hidden up-charges and overpriced for what you get The menu…read morethat is clearly plastered online is full of incorrect prices that they don't bother updating. We ordered the big family meal, which online states that it's $44.99 for 3 large entrees and 2 large sides, and 6 egg rolls for $10. We called and placed our order, the woman on the phone didn't mention the $6 up-charge for an entree with shrimp. The online menu says it's $2 extra for small entrees (we got large) or sides with shrimp (we didn't have a side with shrimp we got the bang bang shrimp as an entree we only got plain fried rice and noodles as our 2 sides). We get there to pay and it's $70! She then admits that the online menus/prices are wrong and the big family meal is $49.99 and there's a $6 up-charge for entrees with shrimp which should have been mentioned on the phone and is funny because the shrimp was the best thing we got. Our beef and broccoli was very watery for some reason but the general tso chicken isn't bad, better than the fried rice. Overall I really wouldn't spend my money here.

I had the noodles, Korean wings, and the orange chicken. The Korean wings are SPICY definitely not for the weak but absolutely delicious. I scarfed down everything!
