Unfortunately, I have had the displeasure of doing business with this dealership. I bought a used Tundra with very low miles. I asked for them to provide pictures of underneath the truck for any rust. Stating multiple times that I am coming from over 3 hours away and don't want to waste my time. The pictures they provided showed no rust, so everything looked good at the time. And they said the truck was in great shape. Truck looked great from the outside and test drive on local roads went well. So went along with the purchase. That's where it all went downhill. On the interstate, the truck nearly shook itself apart, jumping all over the lane. I had to keep it under 55 to drive safely. Called the dealership about this and they said to take it to my mechanic to see what's wrong. Dropped it off, and the next day the mechanic calls me with the list of things that are in dire need of repair.... $12,000 in repairs needed. To top it all off, he tells me that it all mostly needs replaced because the rust was so bad. And that the rust had been sprayed over with paint. How did this even pass their service department before going out on the lot? Provided the list of things needed to be replaced, along with the fact that the damage was concealed with spray paint. They have been silent for a week now, with me reaching out multiple times. Only to be told that the manager will get in contact by the end of the day. RUN, don't walk. RUN away from this dealership if you're buying used. This appears to be pattern with them. Please take heed of this warning. Or at least have a good lawyer. Tldr: dealership advertised the truck as in good condition. But it had been spray painted on the underside to conceal damage. read more

I recently had the unfortunate opportunity to strike a deer, damaging the front of my 2021 Ford Ranger. I responded to the body shop at Duncan Ford and met with the body shop manager, Todd Foster. He provided an estimate and explanation of the cost. I brought the truck in the following week, and Todd, true to his word, returned the truck in perfect condition on the day promised. The quality of the work was outstanding, and the truck came out of the body shop cleaned and ready to go. This was a positive experience in all regards. I highly recommend it. I can't speak to all the negative reviews in the service department, but the time with the body shop was favorable. read more

I would give them a zero if I could. We have purchased three vehicles in the last 5 years from duncan. Two of which cost us dearly. One of the cars had a known transmission issue that was so bad that during its hay day Ford motor co offered buy backs because they were unfixable. The other had catalytic converter issues within the first two weeks of ownership. Duncan gaslighted the issue and did not call back like they said they would. Great sales crew but upper management has moral integrity issues. My suggestion is to steer clear of this establishment. Once the sale is complete on a used vehicle they're done! In late January or early February I made an appointment for the 21st of February for a Re-Gear of the front and rear differential. My vehicle sat in the back for 6 weeks with no work being done at all. Now in fairness to them, the mechanic was working on an truck engine swap and they were just too busy. On or about April 13th, they started work and put my Jeep on the lift and started the disassembly. Today is May 2nd and I still do not have my vehicle, and can not seem to get a straight answer as to why. read more

Anthony and my wife texted back and forth, so we were comfortable with him before we had met face-to-face. Our dog was in our car; they not only let him come in to the showroom, Anthony brought Rocky some water and one of the other salesmen even took him outside when he needed "a walk." While we were finishing the paperwork with the sales manager, Anthony removed all the sales stickers, installed license plates (no need to deal with DMV during a pandemic), and topped of the gas tank. Had I known it were going to be so much of a headache to communicate with anyone and everyone at this dealership, I would have dragged my husband out of there and made him drive clear to California to avoid the hassle. I've been looking for a new car for me, but I would take a pair of pliers and rip my own teeth out before I deal with this place. If you purchase a used vehicle, they will make you well aware that it's 'As is, no warranty.' And they will tell you that while you are signing the Buyers Guide that is marked 'as is,' all the while the Buyers Guides posted on the windows of their used vehicles are currently marked 'Dealer Warranty' and a disclaimer that the dealership will cover 100% parts and labor aside from a $100 deductible. Then, 29 days after the purchase, the motor locks up. And they are short staffed, and can't return phone calls, and they are more than willing to turn someone completely upside down on a loan to put them in another truck, and they take almost a whole month before they commence to actually moving the truck from the parking lot to the garage. They were also asked to do a viscosity test on the oil considering a service sticker in the window stated that the oil it was serviced with wasn't the right oil. But they couldn't do that either. As far as they were concerned, they made their money at the time of sale and that was the attitude presented the entire time in us trying to get my husbands truck fixed. Lesson learned. read more

Spark plugs turned into $4,400??? Why does this always happen at dealerships? "Maintenance", but we take good care of our vehicle. NEVER AGAIN. We will take it back to our local guy. He's the one who was honest enough to send us to the dealership in the first place as it may have been a recall. And what kind of business doesn't take a cheque? We paid $32,000 for an item with the same chequing account. I guess they will only have the one chance to gouge us. They *tried* to do our coolant, which we did last fall, and our tranny fluid, which we also did less than two years ago. When I said that, they said "Oh, really? Well, I will take that off the list." Bought my car there, it had a problem, decided it was the transmission. They completed paperwork and made a promise to fix it. They rebuilt the transmission instead of replacing. Went back several times with issues and they assured me nothing was wrong, while the car was under warranty. Now car is not under warranty and is at another dealership and I have to pay for another transmission!! When I called Duncan about it, they acted like they didn't even know anything about it. It is their fault! They should have fixed it the umpteen amount of times I had it in their to fix! And they should have to pay for it to be fixed now!! I bought a truck from them and it was the worst experience that I have ever had. The vehicle drove great but they advertise things online for the vehicle and they are not actually on the vehicle. There were numerous things wrong with it a couple days after driving it. The radio stopped working so they ordered me a new radio but it took them 3 weeks until they could get it put in. When I went to drop my truck off for the repair they had no idea what needed to be done to it. A few days later I went back to get my truck and the radio still didn't work and they tried to tell me that it was working good when it wouldn't pull up but only one radio station. Worst customer service experience I've ever had. I would never purchase a vehicle from here again. Simply put... I purchased a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 from Duncan. Only when I had it inspected for the first time ( a year after purchase) I found out from the inspectors it had no catalytic converter and no ERG system. They had been removed by either the previous owner or Duncan. It is illegal to sell a vehicle in Va without these. When I notified them immediately they basically laughed at me, however (the sales manager) did tell me to bring in the truck and they would inspect it and pass it. This is also illegal. So they broke the law once, then they were willing to break the law again to cover it up. I have all the documented proof and instance when I notified the State Police on the matter. This should tell you something about the people you deal with at Duncan. They love to take your money, however, fix an error on their part? Nope. Its ok. I kinda believe in Karma, so the bad and corrupt will come back to them. read more

The owner of the business should really be fired!!!!! I purchased a used convertible from these guys and the back glass is now falling out 6 months later. the only way to fix the thing is to replace the entire top ($2500.00). When we purchased the car I was told the extended warranty covered the top this is why I took it. I took my car to them they had it for 2 weeks the owner/manager was working on it, that is what I was told. I also called multiple times to make sure they were keeping it inside because it leaked. Was told it was inside only to find out that it was sitting in the rain. Finally they decided after 2 weeks that they were only going to help me with $200 towards a new top. I came to get my car and they had somehow drained the battery and broken the light on my door panel and let it rain all in my car. WHAT KINDA DEALERSHIP is this.. So now I go to trade the thing only to find out that the car is only worth 1/4 of what they sold it to me for, not even sure how they got the thing financed if it wasn't even worth 1/4 of what they sold it for???? I cannot believe they could have screwed someone so bad!! They profited enough on this sale to buy a new top and pay for the labor as well and still make a profit. Make sure if you deal with this Owner/Manager Craig you watch him he I shady. He will not talk to you have the time. All we wants is your money you mean nothing to him. They have also performed some work on my car before all this happened and left the nut loose on the front wheel and also when I went to pick it up them the battery was also dead. Not sure what kinda place they are running in Rocky Mount but the BBB will be contacted today to file a complaint and also State Police for the inspection. we bought a 2012 Chevy Captiva , first day we took it home 3 hours really it started to miss and act like it wanted to cut off, took it back the next morning, they had it for 2 days said it was a relay switch well after getting it home and driving it for 2 days started same thing so we took it back they had it for 2 weeks and said they couldn't find anything wrong with it.. so we pick it back up after driving it a couple hours it started acting up again, we took it to auto zone and plugged it in on the code reader says all 4 cylinders missed fire leave there it gets worse so we stopped by Advance auto they plugged it up says the same thing all 4 cylinders missed fire and 2 h2o sensors bank 1 and bank 2so we call and the general manager tells my husband well if you know what's wrong with it ,fix it yourself, so we drive back up there from Roanoke and they decided to send it to Midpoint Chevrolet, so we dropped it off at Midpoint giving them the paper from the code reader because the GM at Duncan said well we are Ford here and you don't send someone with a head problem to a heart doctor..(really) I thought a mechanic could work on any vehicle regardless of the make, but anyway Midpoint had it for 2 days they done a fuel flush and changed the spark plugs , so after getting it back to Roanoke we get off the interstate we get to a red light and it starts up again so we turn around and take it back it's really bad by time we get back so they see for themselves so they send us back to Midpoint who were really nice and apologetic so they put us in another loaner it was a Thursday we dropped it off got it back a week later so far so good but the way we were treated and talked to was just wrong and and we had to call to check on it never a phone call but from Midpoint they were so nice but Duncan treated us like bums we work for our money like anyone else. First time buying a vehicle with payments just wrong , I will never recommend this place to anyone ever !!! my friends and family are very aware of this situation. 1st payment is due and got to drive it maybe a total of a week of 45 days.. sad people in this business should be more customer friendly.. they are till you drive it off the lot . read more

The day after buying a truck off of them, the check engine light popped on. It was my own fault for assuming they would take care of that after I left the lot because they are a business (and clearly find success in more emphasis of that, than customer care). Unless I paid for their extended warrantee when I left, the 30 day one, means nothing unless it's engine, transmission or drive train (even then it's $200 then 50% costs). A mechanic friend ran the codes to find it is a oxygen sensor issue. He then cleared it out so the light would go off for a few days. Having their manager of Duncan on speaker, my wife pointed out how he said if it is not a safety issue, they clear out the lights. I told him I felt deceived and I pay more at a dealership so I can feel safe and secure trusting them. Instead, I feel as though I bought a shady vehicle off a stranger on the street. I also now question if that is why the finance person was trying to push so hard on buying their extended guarantee. So anyway, I told him I felt lied to and then he said I'm assuming they took the light off. I explained how if you look from a philosophical point of view, the evidence points to the most common explanation being that they did in fact take the light off since it came back immediately the next day. Even if that 1 in a million change was the case, you would think they would realize they sold me it, without me knowing of the issue and fix it for the customer after investing in their business. I was frustrated and hoping for integrity and customer service; instead I found smooth talkers, deception, and lack of integrity. Another finance manager in a different dealership explained how often they have their employees go and rate their business to increase their sales and customers, so I wouldn't be surprised if this is the reason I was tricked into trusting them. My recommendation is buy cheaper off an individual selling. The risk turns out to be the same either way unless you truly trust another location. Save the up-charge that way. I am frustrated knowing I've most likely been tricked and they refused to help the customer and after he told me that I am to pay 100% of the costs I said that's fine. You have a business and I will let people know my story. The best part is his reply that I was backing him in a corner and threatening him... With exposing the truth and telling my story after I was tricked, and they did nothing to rectify the situation... Anyway, beware because I looked at the vehicle left and right, climbed under the truck and all but at the end of they day, if they want to hide something they will and they will ensure once they have your money, they will not care about your service after. read more
