Byron was awesome. I purchased a Blade 350 QX3 with gimbal and case to use with my Gopro camera. I had read thst the gimbal set up could be difficult, however, Byron made it simple. I called to find out if they had a specific part, the lame girl who answered the phone put me on hold for 4 minutes then hung up. I called back and some joker answered the phone, when I asked if they had the part, he said "I already told you we didn't have the part", then hung up on me! Gee, they can't even offer an alternative? Clearly they are lacking in customer service skills. That's too bad the employees are angry and not helpful. I have bought planes from these guys and they are friendly about seeing you get the best experience. What sets these guys apart is they love the hobby. I have brought in to planes I did not buy from them and they also saw to my needs at the cost of a few small parts, and what was some considerable amount of their time. I drive from San Tan Valley over to them which is almost an hour away with light traffic. In the greater valley area these guys are so the best! read more

For Radio Control there's no other shop. Mr. Duncan himself took the time to personally inspect a damaged motor on my DJI Phantom and was able to repair it in minutes saving me the cost of a replacement. I'm forever thankful and will be going here for all my future RC needs. You can tell that Duncan's RC is a shop run on the love of all things RC. I have a Traxxas Stampede that I bought for my mini me for x-mas. I wanted to go lithium. The gentlemen I worked with was highly knowledgeable and explained the detailed charger components that could potentially break everything if used incorrectly. He saved my settings on the charger and made sure I knew what I was doing before I left. Awesome shop, awesome people. Definitely going to go back for all my hobby stuff. Kudo's!!!! read more

The shop is decent has alot in the way of electrics not to much nitro support. Prices are about average. For sport you can go in there and see if you can stump Mr. Know it all, Tony. Mr.Duncan I see finally over came his ignorance and has learned a moderate amount about business. Some might disagree but one of the first concepts a business owner must not only comprehend but practice is that money is green but the people who have it and are willing to hand it to you over the counter are or should be colorless. I had a bad shopping experience at the 35th st store long before #2 even opened. I needed a transmitter don't recall if it was for a helj or plane and I called down there and someone told me they had a used one. I drove down there parked and walked in and Let me tell you ...could hear a pin drop. "What'd ya need" Duncan nervously asked me. I began telling him and before I could finish he told me he didn't have it . I began to try to explain to him that I called and...he cut me off again"don't have it". By this time the situation had the attention of his cronnies, his little fan club that spends hours hanging around down there kissing his ass. What is this hillbilly's problem I thought to myself. Took only a brief instant then I realized he was threatened by me. He would deny it to this very day but believe me it was, had to be. He didn't know me so what else could it have been. I naturally, didn't patronize "Hillbilly Hobbies" anymore and I urged other fliers not to as well cause it pissed me off that this hobby shop owner new in business would be this stupid. Eventually I needed supplies was in the area of his new shop and stopped in. Maybe he recognized me maybe he didn't, but as a walk in customer he treated me politely. So I began shopping there again but never forgot how I was treated that day. It would suffice to say that the Hillbilly wised up and realize people of all colors participate in RC. Accept it or you cant pay the rent or finance new supplies. Took my Savage X here to get tuned. Truck wasn't running right at all so I called a couple places in the valley and out of all of them this place had the best price and sounded the most knowledgeable. Kirk ended up doing it for me and did a fantastic job it went from literally stalling on every acceleration to now pulling wheelies every time I accelerate. Runs so good I couldn't believe this was my truck. Also told me to run a different glow plug in it after several other shops didn't say anything about this I guess my Hpi runs a lot better with a traxxas glow plug. I'm very new into the hobby and plan to continue to keep in it and get more trucks/cars and I from now on will go to this place for all my parts or service. Every employee from the first guy I dropped my truck off with to the lady who rang me up to Kirk who tuned it is extremely respectful and very nice also can tell they enjoy their job and always had smiles on their faces. I would recommend anyone to come here for any rc needs. I drive from Scottsdale to here and it is well worth it. read more

I've been going to Duncan since he worked at the back of the hobby store that was owned by someone else. I've never heard him talk bad about anyone, I've never heard him blame anyone, and he's always been kind and courteous to me and the many I've referred to that business. I have been going to Duncan's RC since he went out on his own and have never been disappointed. I've made this drive many times rather than frequent stores in the east valley as I live in Gilbert but trust Byron. His staff once pulled together funds to buy him a tool chest. Employees would not do that for a bad boss. We should try to buy items from these local stores so they stay in business and not bash them or blame them. read more
