Wow! Just wow. I had been craving fish and chips for several weeks at this point and heard that Dundee Dell was the place to go to enjoy it. We headed here recently because it happened to be where packet pick up was for the 5K we were participating in the next day. I thought since we'd already be here we could also have a nice delicious dinner of Fish and Chips! I was a little surprised at the price of the meal but after it was served and we started chowing down, I understand!! Our server Chris was great, he answered any questions we had, refilled our waters in a timely manner, brought us more napkins, and even shared about the brown sauce that people in Britain put on everything. The meal itself comes with a large piece of lacey fried Icelandic cod with dipping sauces on the side. You get a mushy peas curry sauce, a yellowish curry sauce, and a tartar like sauce. It's not exactly those things but for the sake of this review and to help you visualize it those are my descriptions of these tasty sauces!! The fish is laid on a bead of crispy fries and honestly served like this it's the perfect proportion of fries to fish ratio. I like my fish and chips with a lot of malt vinegar and the bottle on the table comes in handy to add more when each bite needs a little more zing. I did try that brown sauce and it is certainly worth trying! It's got a flavor I'm unable to completely describe but it's worth having the experience!! I hadn't been in Dundee Dell for several years but when you walk in, it's definitely got that elegant library or lobby feel. Darker painted walls with gold accents throughout and some fun pieces of decor speckled throughout. I'm still a little confused about the giant giraffe but I'm all for it!! I will say, the craving had been successfully satisfied by the fish and chips here. So if you ever had that desire for delicious Fish and Chips head to Dundee and go here. Thank me later! read more

I really enjoyed the caprese appetizer. I'm not sure the exact name of it, it was a special that is not on the regular menu - but if it was, I would be back just for that! Ate here for lunch today with some of the family. Been wanting to come back here because I love brussels sprouts so much and the Reuben is typically very good as well. To get to the point, I was very disappointed that the brussels sprouts came out totally different this time. If you look at my photo, you can see the brussels sprouts from my original review a couple months ago. Unfortunately, I don't have a photo of my brussels sprouts today, but they came in a circular bowl with about half of the portion that I received on my first visit. Did they taste good, absolutely. Remodeled and kept the charm. Love the atmosphere and the service was excellent. We shared the brussel sprouts and wow they are good! One of my all time favorites of all I have tried in Omaha. Perfect crispness and the teriyaki sauce was delicious. Both of us got the pesto chicken sandwich. But if you've ever had their fish and chips, then this will all make sense... 10000% again on their Chicken Fried Chicken delish as usual. The gravy was a little more "floury" tasting this time, and borderline on a little pasty in texture, but let's be honest we're really here for the chicken. Juicy, flavored just right, breading ratio was superb (although I am quick to steal what I call the crunchies, with zero shame). Mashed red potatoes, green-beanies, flavorful juicy chicken screams comfort. Do their fish (icelandic haddock) and chips *really* need an introduction? Does their ridiculously good, easily addictive dippy-dip sauce that is awfully close to tartar sauce (but imagine 100% times better) need ANY formal intro? NOPE... that's damn near drinkable folks.. and whom ever was working the fry drop back in the kitchen... WELL DONE YOU that crispness was on point. Fairly certain their Nitro Cold Brew Martini made me grow hair on my chest, but that's for a completely different group; obvi. Bartender gets mad props for that one though! Did we win their February red envelope Europe trip? Of course not, but we did follow the rules and snagged a 25% off our meal. Had brunch here. So good. Had the egg sandwich, full English breakfast and waffle between my husband and myself. All of it was top notch. Good combination of flavors around traditional offerings make their food better than a standard breakfast place. The waffle comes with a delicious blueberry / raspberry compote and homemade whipped cream. It tasted look like a pastry. I cannot say enough good things here. What a great restaurant! I crave their fish and chips all of the time. So light and crispy! The breading is just right. Not too thick but, you can still tell it is there. The tartar sauce and chops are also very good. I love that they also have the "right" kind of vinegar to douse it in. I went during October when they were decorated for Halloween and had a Harry Potter theme as well. Very nice ambiance and service. Only took off a star for price. The food is great but, I wish the entrees were $3-5 cheaper. If so, I would be here weekly instead of on a more special occasion. read more

Last time I was here I got the fish and chips that were wonderful and flaky a bit on the small side with (2) medium strips and fries but delicious and at a fair price. Needless to say my partner got the Ruben (21$) and I got the chicken fried chicken. Service was slow with only one other couple in the bar as the waitress seemed off? Distracted or dare I say (stoned).Anyhow food was all good but waitress mentioned they made a chicken sandwich not CFC, the breading on the chicken tasted like fish batter and just fell off the chicken probably because this was from the breaded chicken sandwich used instead of the CFC. But for lunch and (2) drinks each with tip 95$? For lunch? While I understand that food costs are high but I also understand why people aren't going out as much. If you're charging premium prices then give me premium service/food. read more

We had a great time at the Dundee dell. We went for happy hour, we started with the fried pickles. They were delightful, breading was the perfect amount and the ranch that came with it was rather tasty. My wife got the 3 sliders and said they were really good. I went with the fish and chips the two piece and it was more than enough food. Especially with the appetizer. The fish was fried well and nice flaky fish. The tartar sauce did need stirred on arrival as it was a little watery but once stirred was really good! Definitely will be back. read more

Heard a lot of reviews on the Fish N Chips, being from England we had to give em a try. Nice surprise they have Harp Larger and Guinness on draft. Ordered Calamari for starter and was pleasantly surprised, good flavor nice and crispy batter with a fantastic dipping sauce. The fried cod was excellent, very fresh and flaky with a light airy beer batter. Chips were ok, not hand cut, nothing close to a real chip shop chip, curry sauce wasn't very good and they also serve the curry sauce at room temp which was very weird. I love the Dundee Dell and have tried several items which are all fresh and well balanced! My favorites are the curry and the fish and chips. The grilled cheese unfortunately was not my favorite as I felt it could easily have 2-3 time the amount of cheese to be more flavorful and less dry. The bread was crispy which I loved, but there just wasn't enough cheese although the flavor was great. Fried pickles were amazing even though I don't normally like them! I had the seasonal cranberry hot toddy which was also an incredible drink and something I don't normally go for. Overall it's always a great experience--great vibe. Popped in for a bite to eat on a Saturday afternoon. Working in Omaha for a couple months, found a place in Dundee, the Dell was highly recommended. Ashley, an outstanding barkeep, suggested the Crispy Chicken Sando, said it's the biggest chicken sando in the city. Challenge accepted. The monster came out and it was spectacular! The old classic pub feel is gone, the scotch selection is limited, the drinks are weak, and everything I've tried on the menu is over fried and over salted. On the bright side, service was great. Our server was kind, patient and attentive. I wish the food was better, but not her fault. There are a few restaurants within walking distance that I would recommend much higher than the dell unfortunately. Ordered the Garden Mule - sickening sweet - sweeter than a soft drink, which is not the nature of a Mule. So, big pass on that. However, The Reuben was amazing! I came here with a lady friend a few weeks ago. The service was a little off as I sat down and waited for a little while to get someone to notice me to put in an order. Even after asking for a whiskey menu, the guy apparently forgot about it and I had to go up to the bar to ask for a menu. Dundee Dell is a staple in Omaha and I am thankful they found new ownership, instead of closing, in 2021. It has been quite a while since I stopped in, but since the place has been around since the 1930s, I figure time is on my side :-) The menu is nice selection of American and British pub fare as well as some creative cocktails. I knew before stopping in I would be ordering the beeswax Old Fashioned. I prefer bourbon, but the scotch was a nice change of pace. Most of the entrees and apps are on the heavier side, but delicious and satisfying. I loved my Big Easy sandwich and would probably opt for something like that as opposed to fish n'chips, which I know they are known for. There seemed to be one waitress taking care of the entire restaurant, but you can't fault a place for being short-staffed these days.
