Came in on Derby Day in the middle of little league baseball season and only saw a few tables open so found a spot and was given a menu pretty quickly. For being a pub, I was shocked by the amount of unique items that they had like the crab rangoon dip which was sooooo GREAT! The wonton chips were a great touch and made you feel like you were making crab rangoon. I had the pork tenderloin which was pretty good. Nothing too crazy but I enjoyed it. It was served with a chipotle mayo which I was not really a fan of. I upgraded to the onion rings and those were breaded nicely and came out tasting pretty fresh. Food was pretty nicely priced and came out pretty quick. The pub feels pretty cozy and seems like a great place to spend a while with friends catching up in downtown Ashland or a nice place to spend a while watching sports. read more

Even with it crazy busy (all tables full) I thought it was relatively quick... the man that ended up bringing our food; walked away at first so it could've been hotter but the flavors and taste was AMAZING!! Smothered chicken! Stopped in for dinner with friends while passing through on a cross country trip. This place has a bar vibe with music playing in the background at a reasonable volume. Our server was very helpful, attentive and kind. We had cheese curd and firecracker shrimp appetizers that came out quickly and were both very good. Our entrees took a bit of time but were worth the wait. I had the smothered chicken with cheddar and pepper jack cheese it had red peppers, mushrooms and onions that were grilled and smothered on top of the chicken breasts with melted cheese. The chicken was moist and tasty. My wife had the chicken fried chicken which had a super crispy breading and served with a white pepper gravy that were a great combination. We had lunch at BW's on Saturday. They were super busy but the staff kept up with the crowd, and our service was excellent. It was a lively and fun atmosphere. My Reuben was superb as was my wife's pork tenderloin sandwich. We will definitely be back. And it's a short walk to BlueJays ice cream shop. read more

On our recent vacation to Nebraska, we were staying over at Mahoney State Park and decided to roam into Ashland to get some dinner. Found this cute little pub place downtown and decided to give it a shot. Ended up being really fun! They run keno all day, so we played a bit of that while we waited for our food. They had several beers on tap as well as by bottle. I ended up ordering a burger with onion rings -- and man, those onion rings were tasty! Burger was cooked to order and filling. My kiddo ordered the salmon plate, which I wasn't sure about given that it's Nebraska and land-locked, but he got a tasty piece of fish with green beans and a fresh salad. Ended up destroying it. Overall, this was a good dining experience - service was nice, and the decor is chill pub vibe. You can't really go wrong unless you're looking for something super fancy. read more

Stopped in the great small downtown of Ashland. Typically we drop in to our favorite bakery/coffee shop across the street but we were later in the day. BW's is a causal pub and grill, a variety of things on the menu. We had the taco salad, Ruben and kids had chicken strips and tots. Tots were better than the fries. Our friend had the BW bomb, probably one the best things on the menu with a variety of BBQ on the massive sandwich. We would pass on the fried cheese curds. Nothing worth noting. Ruben was a bit dry but decent, I prefer more kraut, but wouldn't necessarily turn anyone away from it. Taco salad presented well, but was lacking in depth of flavors, became a muddled mess at the end. Kids liked their chicken, which was a bonus to not have to search for something they liked. Service was attentive, polite and nice. Occasional check-ins and prompt with the check. We will be back, because it is one a few easy places to feed the family as we come to town to visit friends over at Linoma. Give it a try! read more

Small family oriented pub and grill nestled in downtown Ashland. We should have taken photos when we got the food but we didn't give it a chance! We dug right in!! This place is fabulous. Fresh cooked REAL food, friendly people and a comfortable easy atmosphere. We will definitely be eating here again. I came in with a very large group without notice. We were not able to get into another location because of our size and BW's took us in with open arms. We were only stopping by for drinks and all the staff made sure we were well taken care of and never made us feel like we were an inconvenience. The bartenders did a great drop with serving everything from beer, spirts, and mocktails. The food I saw come out looked and smelled amazing! It is a large and spacious bar. I definitely could come back for more food and drink another time. Thank you again for taking in 20+ ladies unexpectedly, like champs. Love the Rueben, I always ask for extra kraut :) and it never disappoints, it is real shredded corn beef not sliced lunch meat... My son had the pork tenderloin and it was delicious and huge, it is hand tenderized and breaded. After a successful Sunday Funday, we landed here after discovering the highly coveted "Corn Nugget" on their menu. At BW's, it's also stuffed with cream cheese, bacon and Jalapeno. The menu was vast- ranging from Flatbread to BBQ, and the drinks were well poured. This is a nice little small town spot with some killer food, and don't forget the Keno! Really frustrated with my experience today. Ordered an appetizer for pick up. When I got there I asked for a side of nacho cheese and paid extra for it(no problem there). The waitress informed me it would be a bit. Left after waiting 10 mins for a cheese cup I paid extra for only to find that my fried gizzards were underdone. Went here today on Veterans Day to find out they don't honor a military discount...but they post happy Veterans Day on their Facebook page. I asked the owner if he could turn the game on one of the televisions and he said "he wasn't tech savvy enough to do it". Ok, while we went there with 2 other couples and the waitress forgot to put one of our members meal in and he had to wait 10 more minutes to get his food after everyone else got there food. Food here is AMAZING!!!! We eat here a lot and the food is always soooo good!! My go to is the Prime Rid Melt, but then the introduced Chicken Bacon Spinach Artichoke Flatbread! YUM!! I also love Asian Chicken Wrap, but I need to drink it with milk because of my weak palate for spicy food. I've ventured from my favorites a few times and have never been disappointed! Stopped here before a round of golf at Country Drive Golf Course in Ashland and we weren't disappointed! I had the Prime Rib Melt and was one of the best I've ever had, would definitely recommend it. Someone else in our group got a specialty pizza they had that week on Cauliflower crust, and she said it was the best cauliflower crust she's ever had. We all tried a bite and you couldn't even tell it was made with cauliflower. Great little spot to stop for some beers, good food and Keno. Would recommend and would go back again. read more

After writing constructive criticism on another site the owner got upset and removed the comment instead of trying to fix the problem. The food is very inconsistent- one day it's really good and the next it's not. I really want this establishment to work out for the owner because he's gone through a lot of work. I was visiting Nebraska for the first time over the weekend and the hospitality in the state was matched equally by the hospitality, customer service, and excellent food at BW's. Brian, the manager, went over and beyond to accommodate a large party last minute (and the Bacon Cheeseburger was still one of the best I have had in a while.) I travel a lot for work and can say with great confidence that BW's represented what I have come to love about the state in general - friendly, accommodating, a commitment to customer service.
