I requested a quote for 2 pieces of glass, asked if they shipped (yes) within 2 days - Walter was Fantastic. The glass was received broken, and according to them because the claim was denied by UPS, they were not willing to assist. Not, please foward more pictures, we will fight on your behalf - NOOOO. Amy and her other Co worker rudely suggested I take it up with UPS. I explained I was NOT the shipper and any conversations had to be between them and UPS. I am incredulous at their lack of customer service and their inability to take any responsibility. So to other designers beware, if you have to pick something up, no worries but with shipping and damages you are left to drown in a sea of broken glass. Having recently purchased my NYC condo, I was juggling a bunch of construction projects, ranging from new floors, to a kitchen backsplash, and finally, to a new wall partition, expanding the bedroom space further into the living room. Since my bedroom area wasn't windowed, my goal was to create a partial-height wall about 80" in height, finishing the remaining 18-19" with frosted glass. This would provide a continuous floor-to-ceiling wall, while still allowing natural light from the living room to "leak" into the bedroom. This is where Dundy Glass came in... I was recommended to them by one of my contractors; he suggested cutting out the middle man (you know, all those fancy "design centers" with storefronts in NYC) and going straight to the warehouse. He wasn't kidding about the warehouse part! She was patient with me through multiple changes in measurements and glass type, until I ultimately ended up with a 99.50" x 18.25" piece of 3/8" thick acid-etched (frosted) tempered glass with micro-beveled edge. I priced the same measurements and specifications from other comparable shops and showrooms, and Dundy Glass came up the lowest by far. Due to restrictive hours my friend (with van!) and I had, we were unable to pick up during their normal business hours. Ellen was kind enough to ask one of her equally kind workers stay late so we could retrieve and transport the glass to my apartment. After over a year with it installed now, I am very happy with the quality and low cost of the glass, and the level of friendly service provided. My store window cracked. I was referred by a contractor friend to Dundy glass. Long story short, I wasted $650 on glass that's so green I can't use it for anything but a really big coffee table, and I can't get credit or a refund for it. This is a subjective matter, so I uploaded a picture to Yelp so you can see their job vs. what I had done two years ago and compare for yourself. I told them my situation, the type of glass, and the measurements. I told them it was being used for a store window, and that it had to be very clear and see through so you can see everything in the window, and strong so it doesn't break if some lunatic bangs on it. They send an invoice for $650 and I sent them a check for it. They deliver it, and it's green tinted.. not clear. Also when you knock on it, this feels way worse than what is in our window. The main issue - it's green tinted. It's terrible. I can't use this as a store window. I've always been happy to pay for a good value. I never bargain with my contractors, and specify what I am looking for clearly. I don't lowball or bargain with contractors, because lowballing gets you what you deserve - cut corners and a worse end product. Here I asked clearly for what I wanted and trusted them to deliver, and instead of deliver they start berating me with specialty industry terms after sending me a $650 slate of junk. I called them and they made it seem like my fault - "did you ask for low iron?" I said "I asked for a clear store window.. I'm a laptop & amplifier repair technician, not a glass specialist, that's why I told you what I needed and hoped you'd send me something clear and not green." They told me that clearer glass would've been $200 more. I told them I would have paid $1000 more to get what I needed. I'm not kidding, that would've been fine. "What do you have?" I ask. At that point they said that even their low iron glass wasn't as clear and may require a specialty place to make it. To add insult to injury they told me "most stores in Manhattan use this glass with the tint." I gave them the benefit of the doubt and went walking up 1st Avenue for half an hour. Maybe I am just a lunatic who is too obsessed with a clear window. After a half hour of walking around, I found one store with green glass. I counted ratty looking bodegas, ratty looking laundromats, and places out of business with brown paper in the window. Out of all of these places, only ONE had green glass. They knew they couldn't produce something decent from the beginning, and they have a no refund policy. The best they said they can do is take $100 off of a new order of glass, which may not be clear anyway. So my only option with Dundy is to spend about $850 to have something made that I can't return if it also isn't clear.. are you kidding? I'm in the process of turning these two pieces of green junk into a 2nd technician's table, and saving up to hire a company with a clue to do the window come fall. read more

i have been a regular customer of this establishment for over 3 yrs, yes their prices are great but they seem to have a problem with timing. I am told 2-3 days then it winds up being a week, my last experience was very unfavorable. I placed an order for a customer and was told 1 week, ok no problem but when more than a week went by, i called and was told my order had accidentally been sent somewhere else. I now had a very irrate customer on my hands so i called back to try and see if they can get it back right away and was told that they would try but no garauntees could be made to have it returned in a timely matter, if i wanted i can go out to long island and pick it up myself. well i thought how rude. i will now have to think twice about going back!! read more
