Ambiance- sat outside, warm day, under the umbrella...we were seated immediately. Food - ordered basic food - root beer float - good! However, the turkey sandwich took forever to be delivered- about 25 minutes! but the sandwich was delivered dry - 3 stars for food and service.

See Container behind fence right next to our dining area! Gross!!

I visited The Dune Grass Café at Used to Bees over the Memorial Day weekend for breakfast and chose to sit in the outdoor dining area. Unfortunately, the experience was ruined by a terrible smell. After looking around, I discovered that an open dumpster filled with garbage was located just behind the fence, only about 50 feet from where guests are seated. This was not only unpleasant but also extremely concerning from a health and sanitation standpoint. I'm fairly certain there are regulations about exposed garbage so close to a dining area, and I would expect the health department to take notice. Very disappointing.

Kids scrambled eggs and toast. Added a side of bacon.

Stumbled upon this cafe on a rainy Wednesday morning when we took a wrong turn looking for a breakfast spot. For us that turned out to be a plus! Cute little house turned into cafe. Seating inside and outside was plentiful. Staff is friendly and helpful. The menu was a nice selection of typical breakfast and lunch options. The usual pancakes and eggs and French toasts as well sides. Lunches were simple sandwiches and salads. Also included a few specials. We ordered three tasty dishes. My daughter had eggs toast and bacon, my husband had a Normandy omelette and coffee. The platter came with toast and home fries. I had one of the specials which was huevos rancheros. Two tostadas with beans, fried eggs, sauce and cheese, and topped with fresh sliced avocado. I also had a side of sausage links. Service was quick and the food was flavorful and just the right portion. We were all very satisfied! Happy to have found this little spot. Worth checking it out for a casual breakfast or lunch. Oh one extra fun thing which is kid friendly - they give you crayons and encourage you to draw in the paper table cover! So much fun! We left a thank you msg for our sever!

We came here after a nice great day at the beach so essentially we're a big group of people, around 11 and we all have appetites. This place delivered and it was a great way to grab some grub and leave stuffed and satisfied. Dune Grass Cafe has really good portion sizes, the waiters treat you like their own family, type diner action, very caring and quick on the service with the water. I had a classic avocado toast on rye. Good seasoning and crisp bread and the potatoes. I forgot what the potatoes were called but they were nice and crispy with a moist interior, perfect on their own but sizzling and lovely with some hot sauce or ketchup. My friends got egg platters and their portion sizes were enormous. Definitely come on down here to eat after a beach day or even just to grab a bite.

Great breakfast spot! We ordered the French Toast, Nutella stuffed French toast (highly recommend), three cheese omelet, home fries, turkey sausage, and Bay Head Omelette. Everything was delicious! Service was great, our waitress Olivia was patient and on point! There was a bit of a wait to receive our food as it was very busy so that's to be expected. All the food came out hot and fresh. Will be returning soon :)

My sister with our omelette dishes. Mine had veggies, hers had crab and avocado. Yum!

We tried dinner after enjoying brunch - seafood sampler (flounder, scallops, crab cake) and Bayside Salad - everything was fresh and tasty. Very reasonable prices for the area and BYOB. Good covered outdoor seating.

Delicious Cobb salad with chicken salad substitute.

Our server was super friendly and brought us coffee and waters quickly. We both kept it simple here with my wife ordering scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries and sourdough toast and I had a ham and Swiss omelette, home fries and sourdough toast. Simple meals that came out quickly and done perfectly. I love that they the portions here are actually correct portion sizes and not an overwhelming amount of food. And I don't know what they do to their hash browns, but WOW. Tasted almost like mashed potatoes, but with the consistency of hash browns. Very good coffee and food, excellent and friendly service, small parking lot and on-street parking - this is an easy one to recommend, I would definitely come back.

If you arrive at 9 or after, you'll likely have to wait for a breakfast table. Aim for 8:30-8:45. The crab cakes Benedict are delicious. They have such a great hollandaise sauce here. The crab cakes really good too - mostly crab. My daughter is in love with their strawberry Nutella pancakes and still gets it every time, every visit, every year. The meat and egg sandwiches here are huge. They have big croissants. Coffee is good and they keep your mug full. Hot chocolates are nice as well. No credit card fee and I still very highly recommend this place for breakfast!!! We plan to eat here twice in the same week.

This…read moreis a dockside eatery with great views - meant to be a casual spot for you to enjoy some food while you watch the sunset. It doesn't promise to be an elite experience, and it is a very popular spot especially in the summer. It gets slammed and a reservation is recommended! I've been to Channel Marker a few times within the past summer, both positive experiences - although, they were slammed last night and the kitchen was backed up, so we ended up waiting a while for our entrees. We were not in a rush so we didn't mind. Channel Marker is known for their crabcakes, and whether you get the appetizer or the entree, they are definitely a must. They're giant and use little to no filler in the recipe - and when the menu says 'colossal,' they mean it. One crabcake is honestly enough for a full entree! I actually like the flavors / accoutrement better on the single appetizer crabcake as opposed to those with the entree. I've also had the salmon, which was a giant and well-seasoned piece of fish - however, I was not into the sides that it came with. In fact, I find the side dishes to be weirdly insulting to the delicious piece of salmon that this place serves. It comes with lump crab bruscetta, and I really do think it's a waste of crab. I hope they consider changing the sides for the salmon in the future - it's such a nice piece of fish, the crab salad overshadows the salmon entirely. (Also, the ratatouille salad was fine but not to my taste.) Also, the roasted potatoes / garlic linguine are killer. (I would rather have a side of those roasted potatoes with my salmon than the salad they were serving!) One thing is for certain - every time we come here, the food is extremely fresh and hot. In addition, the staff busts their butts here. The place is easily overwhelmed because it's small, and the waitresses do their best. Shout out to Dominique, who we've had a couple of times now! Each time she was pleasant, informative, and accommodating.

She was overwhelmed and said that it was their busiest time of the year and we just needed to wait for it to be out. She didn't ask for our name or check the status of our bagel. We continued to wait for our bagel but saw people ordering after us and still getting their sandwich order before I got mine. After now 30 minutes we asked one more time just for the status of the bagel. Lady at the register was extremely rude and told me I only had waited 15 minutes however I had the credit card time stamped. We overheard them speaking about how there was clearly a confusion and the order was never placed, and instead of apologizing for not checking on the bagel like we asked her to before, she rudely lied and loudly told us that we were only waiting for "17 minutes" and that it usually takes 20 minutes and implied we were being impatient except we were there for 35 minutes. She gaslit us into thinking we were being rude instead of just apologizing to us for the confusion. Bagel and cheesecake were excellent but customer service was very poor. I would recommend ordering ahead of time and just picking up.
