We booked the tickets back a few months ahead of time - pedestrian passage. The price is a bit steep....$50. I hope people who have to take it frequently get discounts! Both ports have unloading/loading down to a science. They even deal with passport and customs on each side quickly. They left on time and arrived on time. Boat was clean with almost enough seating space for everyone. If its inclement weather, everyone will want to be inside and there does seem to be more passengers than seats during those times. Bathrooms weren't bad...they will get busy the last 15 mins of the ride though. Everyone has the same idea at the same time! lol The strait will get choppy at a certain point and the boat will rock. On our trip out I actually started getting queasy but the little souvenir shop had acupressure bands for sale at a good price so I bought a pair immediately...eventually felt better. All of us were stumbling around like drunken sailors for a bit there. The morning passage rocked far, FAR more than the return in the late afternoon. The food area is a little pricey but its nice to have if you need to snack during the trip. You need to take this trip at least once!

We made a reservation online ($12 on top of the fare) to secure a spot for our car, they also require you to show up at least an hour ahead of departure time to secure your spot. We showed up early, but the vehicle deck appeared far from full when we sailed, so not sure if reservation was truly necessary. The ride itself was smooth and comfortable, taking about 1.5 hours. There are restrooms, cafeteria, coffee bar and gift shop and WiFi onboard.

Olympic National Park Visitor Center is in Port Angeles on the road to Hurricane Ridge. It has plenty of parking spaces and a welcome sign that you can get a photo in front of. This was my first visit to Olympic National Park. I appreciated the help that I received from the staff here. They gave me information on how to navigate my way around the park. I was excited to make the trek up to Hurricane Ridge for the day. It is one of the most visited areas of Olympic National Park. I wanted to do the Hurricane Hill hike while I was here. The park ranger explained to me how to get to the trailhead and where to park. Because the Wi-Fi is spotty in this area, they have paper maps available. Olympic National Park Visitor Center is also a gift shop and sells snacks and beverages. The building itself is spacious and has two levels. There are exhibits about the park's natural and cultural history, a discovery room for kids and a film that plays throughout the day. Make sure you check out the wildflowers out front and the nature trails behind the building. Also, don't forget to stamp your national park passport book while you are here. There are entrance stations on Hurricane Ridge Road once you pass this visitor center. The drive up to Hurricane Ridge is around 17 miles. Hurricane Ridge Road sometimes closes in the winter due to avalanches.

Two people answering questions were busy: the male Park employee, seated, was talking with an older couple about ??? The young woman talking with a male hiker was busy going over the map with him. Twenty-one minutes later, I left the building so that my partner (minding the an8mal-beast) could go in to the Visitor Center: she came out in less than 10 minutes. I went back inside: the seated male Park employee was still talking with the engaging older couple, and the standing female Park employee was still talking with the male visitor. Some thirty minutes had passed since our arrival at the Visitor Center and the two employees were talking with the same visitors. Hard to get a quick question in edgewise. The young woman at the register still only knew how to scan merchandise and sell cloth bags to hold merchandise. We drove up to the Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center after being told we could look for those things we were looking for. Only after we got up to Hurricane Ridge did we learn that the Visitor Center had burned down several years ago. Guess they forgot to tell us that. U.S. Government and their contractor employees...

The Mason family is awesome and I'm hoping they'll adopt me soon. lol Relaxed, but professional. Attentive and patient. I have loved flying all my life and the smaller the plane the better. Flying in an open cockpit plane is even more amazing. If you ever get the chance to do it, don't hesitate. I have also always wanted to do aerobatics, but have never had the opportunity. Imagine how thrilled I was to find out I could take off in an open cockpit plane and not only get to finally do a loop, but to be able to stand on the wing while we did it! #$@%^@#! Nothing cooler than climbing out of a flying airplane and standing on top of it while doing aerobatics. Jut stop reading this and call them.

Followed this humpback straight to another, then another and then even more! After seeing some whales, we went out to find more wildlife. Elephant seal, harbor seals and steller sea lions and Bald Eagles on the coastline. Granted, no orcas this time, but what an amazing tour! Crew is awesome and very knowledgeable. Showed them one picture and they knew exactly which whale was sighted. Blueberry buckle fresh outta the oven, hot chocolate and plenty of snacks on board. Plenty of safe parking near the harbor and gift shop after the tour. Book a tour and you will not be disappointed!

Tranquility comes to mine as the world out there gets very quiet. The nightly accommodations are extremely comfortable my wife and I sleep like babies. There is so many little details and treasures to been seen , please take time to visually experience as much you can. Their daughter Kelly runs a small gift shop on the grounds and well worth a visit there to pick up many different hand made items to take home to remember your lovely stay over. The owners are very gracious with their time and will explain where to go to explore , what to see and where are good places to eat. It's like a mini resort/retreat located at the edge of Sequim. Close to everything on the North Olympic Peninsula. They have only a couple of places to rent but they are really spacious and so thoughtfully appointed. One rental is perfect for families with three bedrooms and kitchen. There's even a cute gift shop. Very comfortable.
