Love the ice cream and cows. Gifts and other goodies in the store are fun. Prices are not terrible for occasional visits.

Fun creamery with great raw milk products. Have calves out right now which the kids loved to look at. Definitely recommend!

Great ice cream on a dairy farm! Definitely worth the trip. They also sell fresh milk and cheese and you can see the cows.

The people working were super chill and scooped up a large portion of ice cream! They also do milkshakes and fruit flavored "New Zealand style" soft serve. Definitely worth visiting for ice cream in Port Angeles!

NOT AN ALLERGY FRIENDLY BUSINESS. (Laziness prevails hard work and good business practices)…read more This review mainly concerns service, and workplace practices that bring up questionable cleanliness and workflow issues where customers are paying the price. I am from Australia and was excited to see New Zealand Style Ice cream in a small town we were visiting for our 10 year wedding anniversary. My wife has a blackberry allergy, and we were very disappointed and shocked with the company's response to dealing with allergies despite the following: On this company's website, and in store they state in multiple places "Allergy Info: Please note that all fruit ice cream flavors get blended in the same blender. If you are allergic to any specific berry please take caution and let us know so we can swap out parts." So we figured we would just have to awkwardly let them know about her allergy and they would accommodate by switching out whatever parts were needed to ensure no cross contamination etc. This was not the case, we were very surprised to discover when discussing flavor options etc that the person helping us said "we use the same scoops for every berry even in the morning when we set up so we can't guarantee that there won't be any blackberry in your ice cream, I would suggest getting no fruit if your allergy is serious." When we were told this we were instantly turned off as she said there is nothing they can do despite noting allergy and dairy free options on the website. They have a lot to work on, in a normal circumstance in most places I've ever been these business practices would put them out of business. What they need to do at a minimum is: ensure you are using one scoop for each type of berry, or don't offer to change equipment etc blatantly on your website and in store but act too lazy to do this in person. I am not knowledgeable in the safe food practices in Washington, but have enough common sense to know that cross contamination in the food service business is a big no. As to the dairy vs non dairy swirling of the berries. There should be one separate machine for non-dairy orders. When we were in there they were only utilizing one machine anyway and the other still had crusted ice cream on it from a customer who knows how long ago. My wife worked at a Jamba Juice while in school and said it doesn't make any sense how they do this because if someone had an allergy they would even take the order to the back to get fresh berries with a fresh scoop as cross contamination does occur in the front counter area when scooping up the fruit etc. It seems like they just don't want to bother doing the work for accommodating allergies, we would have been happy to wait if a machine needed to be cleaned and them go into the back to do the right thing with a clean scoop but none of this effort was offered throughout our visit. This is not an allergy friendly business. Once my wife was left with no options aside from a basic scoop of regular ice cream, I decided not to support this business and will travel to New Zealand when I go back to visit my family in Australia for the real deal without the unsafe, and lazy work flow.

While waiting for the departing ferry at Friday Harbor, we left our car parked in the ferry queue and hoofed it a few blocks to this cute little ice cream shop. The staff were super friendly - summer vacation kids working tourist season - but they were kind, engaged, and knowledgeable about flavor selection. And, oh my goodness... the flavors to choose from! This shop serves Lopez Island Creamery ice cream, and if you can, always opt for the seasonal flavors. They had Blackberry Lavender, Lavender, Mountain Huckleberry, Strawberry Fudge Brownie and more. I opted for 2 scoops of Lavender and was not disappointed! Cold, creamy, oh-so fragrant, but without an overpowering medicinal lavendar taste. It was perfect, and so refreshing in the hot summer sun. Make sure you take an opportunity to get some Lopez Island Creamery products while visiting the San Juan Islands. I saw their products available in grocery stores and several restaurants, but do support Yo! Friday Harbor if you can. It's conveniently located next to the ferry and you just can't beat that!
