We had to have ice cream while on holiday and found this place. It's a cute store that carries a few other items, along with ice cream, coffee etc. They carry Lopez Island creamery ice cream. I got a chocolate caramel sundae, hubby got the chocolate truffle. We loved our ice cream, delicious, creamy and not too sweet. I liked the ice cream so much I had to come back today before we left the island. I got Pecan Praline today and loved it. My husband got a mocha and liked it. While waiting for the departing ferry at Friday Harbor, we left our car parked in the ferry queue and hoofed it a few blocks to this cute little ice cream shop. The staff were super friendly - summer vacation kids working tourist season - but they were kind, engaged, and knowledgeable about flavor selection. And, oh my goodness... the flavors to choose from! This shop serves Lopez Island Creamery ice cream, and if you can, always opt for the seasonal flavors. They had Blackberry Lavender, Lavender, Mountain Huckleberry, Strawberry Fudge Brownie and more. I opted for 2 scoops of Lavender and was not disappointed! Cold, creamy, oh-so fragrant, but without an overpowering medicinal lavendar taste. It was perfect, and so refreshing in the hot summer sun. Make sure you take an opportunity to get some Lopez Island Creamery products while visiting the San Juan Islands. I have been looking forward to trying Lopez Island Creamery ice cream for a few years now. I saw some where I rented a kayak on Orcas, but the day didn't work out for us to try it there. So, while we waited for our ferry to get to Friday Harbor, I fired up the Yelps and found this spot just a block from where we had parked to wait. It's exactly what you would hope for in a small touristy shop--a little bit of old school candy, a little bit of novelty candy, and of course the start of the show, the ice cream. I'm gathering that it might be busy here sometimes, but since the COVID environment has tourism way down, we only had one party in front of us and we got right in. Speaking of COVID, the whole island is taking it very seriously so we had masks as did staff, and there is plenty of hand sanitizer around. We stepped up and had to choose quickly--I went with Skagit Strawberry and my girlfriend chose the s'mores variety. Both were really good, and I think we both left thinking that the other one had ordered the better variety. I will say, they are more about smooth texture, as none of the varieties in the case seemed to have large chunks, and they were all more subtle colors. I would guess there aren't many vibrant dyes being used. They have a froyo section in the back, but it was not currently running as I think the serve yourself situation with COVID probably makes it impractical. All in all, a nice enough experience. The staff was efficient, if nothing else. They probably see a lot of people every day and aren't prone to being very chatty, so we got in and got out quickly enough. read more

The employees were welcoming and friendly and let us try samples! I tried the huckleberry and the green tea, but ultimately went with the Skagit strawberry! This place is PACKED!! The setup is kinda lacking. You look at your ice cream selections and order but have to turn the corner to pay. DELICIOUS ICE CREAM, AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE: The ice cream they sell here is to die for!! I tried their Skagit Strawberry, Decidedly Chocolate, and Maple Nut. They were all DELICIOUS - just the right amount of sweet, perfectly flavored (the Maple Nut had pieces of maple nuts), and the right amount of softness! This will now be my must stop every time I visit San Juans! Their customer service is out of this world! Because Yelp had messed up their hours and location on the map, I had to give them a call to ask where they were located. The lady that answered the phone (Miechelle, owns the place) said they were closed and gave me the correct location/hours. As I walked back to my car, I ran into her. She had shut down the store and was about to leave - we had a quick chat and as soon as she found that I was leaving the island shortly, she opened the store and gave me all the ice cream I wanted!!! We had such a wonderful experience at this shop last evening, I felt obligated to take the time to write a review! I checked out reviews from other island Yelpers prior to choosing Yo! to fulfill our ice cream cravings. So glad I did! The customer service was outstanding, the girl serving us was friendly & helpful. We were offered many samples to try; she was patient with us since deciding on a flavor wasn't easy! My husband chose London Fog (vanilla base with Earl Grey flavor), my son picked something that had cookies in a peppermint base. I chose lime sorbet, and it tasted just like a margarita! The ice cream is made locally with no added colors - and it was excellent. There is also self serve yogurt available, but only 3 of 6 flavors were available when we went. We stopped here for ice cream before heading to the ferry. They have a nice variety of flavors including lavender ice cream made with lavender grown on the island. I got a double scoop waffle cone with salted caramel and decidedly chocolate, both delicious. My husband also got a double scoop waffle cone with chocolate peanut butter and rocky road, I assume he liked it because he didn't say much until it was gone! The ice cream is rich and high quality and the scoops are large. Two scoops was a little much for me (though I think my husband was very satisfied with his!) They have kids cups too with a slightly smaller scoop which our nephews enjoyed and was a perfect amount to satisfy them. The store sells other items as well like little gifts or souvenirs but I didn't spend too much time looking around. This stop was all about the ice cream! I write this review with full knowledge that this store seems to be primarily focused on frozen yogurt and ice cream, but when I was craving a bubble tea I was very disappointed. The drink appeared to be made of a powdered flavoring blended with ice to give it a thicker consistency. Looked promising based on initial appearance, but the flavor was absolutely terrible. Tasted like dirty water with the smallest hint of coconut. I took a few sips, but wasn't able to choke down any more than that. A waste of $5. Stopped in especially to try Lopez Island brand ice cream--awesome. Intriguing flavors, all natural, and ultra delicious. I had chocolate chocolate chip ice cream, and all I can say is--WOW. Super chocolate deliciousness. DS had the cinnamon ice cream, and loved it. I sampled the blackberry ice cream and next time I go, that's what I'm getting--super blackberry flavor. We liked the shop, too: pleasant store, spacious enough, with yogurt and toppings as well as ice cream and chocolate for sale. You could get your ice cream in a regular cake cone, a sugar cone, or a small waffle cone, all for the same price. And the storeclerk was super friendly, patient with all our sampling, and helpful. We wandered into this place and not only were we greeted by a great employee but she offered us a giant sample before we even asked! The ice cream is from a local creamery which made it even better!
