I can't say enough good things about Dr. Danton Dungy--he's incredible. I've had both knees replaced by him (9/25 & 2/26), and I truly couldn't be happier with my experience. He is passionate, honest, and genuinely friendly. You can tell he really cares about what he does, and it shows. He's not on any kind of pedestal--he talks with you, not at you, which makes a big difference. He's also at the top of his field, with patents for orthopedic surgical tools and a technique he developed called the Later Technique. My recovery has gone smoothly, and even my home PT said that Dr. Dungy's patients consistently seem to recover faster than average. Dr Dungy is such a caring individual and has a wonderful bedside manner. I did a full knee replacement on 5/5/25. I woke up from surgery and thought to myself, this was a good experience and pain level was a 1 out of 10 and haven't needed narcotics. I recommend spending the night at the hospital and getting some extra TLC prior to going home, it was worth it. I also appreciated the in-home physical therapy for the first two weeks. If my left knee needs to be done I would in a heart beat go back to Dr Dungy. My emotions went from frightful fear of having a knee replacement to wow, this wasn't that bad of a process to go through. I was pleasantly surprised for such a good outcome so soon. read more

I researched all of the orthopedic surgeons before choosing Dungy Orthopedic Center and they were the best...for good reasons. The front office staff and assistants were friendly and explained what I was being billed for and talked me through my exam. Even tho I did not need a hip replacement (again) Dr. Dungy spent 10-15 minutes with me explaining what may be causing my pain, how to treat it myself and what my next step should be if I was unsuccessful. Unfortunately, this review will not be a 5 star review. To start with my wife had her hip replaced with Dungy Orthopedic Center. The follow ups consisted of "Everything looks great !" Despite my wife being unable to walk without great pain and difficulty. After I accepted a new job with a different health coverage (Cigna Gold) and my wife having Medicare we were told by the front office that they don't accept Cigna and we are now persona non grata. Not sure what happened to the oath to do no harm and to care for the welfare of each patient. Despite the fact that even if they are not in network with Cigna we are still eligible for out of network care, with of course supplemented by Medicare. I tried to leave a voicemail for Dr. Dungy but the front office says He doesn't have a voicemail. That is convenient. My wife was accused of knowingly not telling the office that we had changed insurance. This is absolutely not true and as I stated earlier, it wouldn't matter because of the out of network coverage. Very disappointed in this facility. Susan is in great pain and unable to walk 18 months after her hip replacement at Dungy Orthopedic Center. We are now seeing another Orthopedic specialist and are hopeful for a revision to the very poor treatment we received at Dr. Dungy's office. read more

My only issue is the wait times. My past few appointments have been delayed by 30-45 minutes which makes it hard when you have to get back to the office for work. In April 2012 I tore my ACL. I tried to just let it go (I didn't know) but it persisted. My normal doctor sent me in for an MRI, which came back that the ACL was indeed torn. Off to the Orthpedic folk. Dr Dungy saw me and I must admit, he was quite personable. He doesn't have that holier than though doctor attitude. With that said, I wished he was a little more upfront with what my options were. I'm just a laymen and I don't know what I need. Let me explain - my ACL is torn but it generally doesn't buckle or anything. It is generally constantly tight and thus I don't do any bowling, hiking, or running anymore in fear of hurting it. Because it wasn't causing me any bad discomfort he kind of steered me in the way of physical therapy. However, from what I'm reading if I ever want to do any of the above activities my only real chance is surgery as ACLs never heal. Physical therapy is only good to strengthen the muscles and tissues around the ACL to hold it in place for general activities. So I'm probably looking at surgery. read more

All I can say is Amazing. I was a new patient on Monday. Got a appointment in less than a week from my call. Staff was super friendly. They follow the COVID protocol. Dr. Dungy is awesome. So up beat and positive. Not a knife happy specialist. He explained my option clearly with no sense of urgency to get on to his next patient. His least invasive solution is working as of now. I waited almost 2 months to get an appointment with Dr. Dungy. I arrived early, full of hope and anticipation at meeting the doctor who would be The One to fix my 4 year old knee replacement problems. There was a sign at check in saying that the wait would be longer than anticipated, bad sign. I sat almost patiently for an hour was told that I was close to next and reassured that I would receive the best possible care. Due to my schedule, I had to leave. I called Dr. Dungy's office and supplied his clerk withal my insurance information and was given an appointment for just over a month later. I waited, in pain. Skeptical still yet his name kept coming up so I made an appointment! It was simple & easy from the 1st contact for the appointment throughout. The staff was welcoming! Xray tech is thoughtful & exacting & nurses were pleasantly detailed, getting information & statistics. PA Erin Miller was my guiding light throughout the process of preparing for the essential knee replacement to come. Dr. Dungy and his office staff were fantastic! They got me in for X-rays only a few minutes after I completed my new patient paperwork. I was in an examination room with a PA to do all the usual stuff moments after the X-rays were finished. The entire visit took only 45 minutes from check-in to departure. Dr. Dungy appeared only a few minutes after the PA departed. I liked the doctor the minute he walked through the door. He's extremely personable and likable and makes you feel at ease immediately. He patiently listened to the issues I had with my knee, showed me the X-rays and discussed his conclusions very interactively with me. After seeing the same ortho for over 25 years he retired. I was referred to Dr. Dungy by 2 orthos who have worked with him. My history is very rare as I am only 35 with bilateral hip replacements. I just seen a review by some guy named Ed. Seems he wants to blame Dr. Dungy for his problems eight months after surgery. Dr. Dungy is a super doctor, super person and from what I've seen, the very Best. This man did surgery on both of my knees and also replaced both of my wife's knees and her left shoulder. We have known him for over 16 years and we will not let anyone but him do our orthopedic needs. It seems Ed got his knee infected and passed all blame to this doctor. This doctor takes very special care to insure his patience understand the care that's needed with knee replacement. He was very clear about anyone with artificial knees get antibiotics before you have your teeth cleaned. He also was clear about getting any infections. So from me view Mr. Ed did not follow or apply the clear safe guards he was given. Again Dr. Dungy in one of the very best orthopedic surgeons I know. Dr Dungy is terrible dr and his A P too. This dr doesn't listen to his patients at all. He replace my right knee and even though I went to see him 4 times called twice seen his A P I ended up with a infection so bad I had bone damage. Why you ask??? I went to Dr. Dungy because a few people tell me he was pretty good he excepted my insurance and he was close to where I live what a mistake! I never saw Dr. Dungy not one time in my 6 to 10 visits that I had there Tina. Now I don't know about anybody else but when I'm paying good money to see a doctor I expect to see a doctor not a nurse practitioner all they wanted to do was inject crap in my knee rather than do the surgery on it. I was referred there for knee pain. They took x-rays. He moved my knees around and was told there was a lot of grinding. I asked them what causes grinding, and he told me he doesn't know. Grinding is a common issue with knees. Either he didn't go to medical school or he lied to me because I was not a candidate for surgery, which is where the surgeons make their big money. I was told there is nothing they can do for me. They billed my insurance hundreds of dollars and I was shown the door. What a racket. read more
