Selection is decent in terms of both variety of sports as well as inventory for each sport. I visited particularly for golf gear, welcomed with an adequate selection for clubs of both full sets as well as individuals. They have a mini putting green with putters to test, and all of the full sets have a set of clubs out to see how they feel. As for the rest they also had a large selection of balls, tees, gloves, and more. If you need a one stop shop that offers affordable gear this is the place to go. On top of those they have great coupons in store and online, I was able to get 25% off of a $400 set of clubs that saved me a satisfying amount that would get me to return for future purchases. I was reaching the four-hour mark of my journey home and I decided to practice my cheapskate skills at Dunham's Sports for an inexpensive pair of running shoes. However, the customer service was more of like customer serve-yourself as I waited nearly 17 minutes for no one to help me get a pair of Asics. Diabolical. But I did eventually secure a pair of runners to make my feet sweat tears of joy. Furthermore, the cashier had to double check the age to buy ammunition as the youngster checking out in front of me claims he had bought rounds several times from that location. Dumham's, I mean Dunhams, must have poor store GM training programs across all locations. My buddy from college said he put the "Dun" in Dunham's after being paid less than $10 an hour to do three jobs in one. This location hasn't earned my salute. read more

I have been patronizing this store for many years. They usually have a nice selection, and I usually find what I need. I have purchased shoes, boots, sports equipment, clothing, etc. here over the years. Two days ago I purchased some new racquetballs. I usually use Wilson "Blue Bullets," but I decided to try a different brand, so I got ProPenn Purple balls, and unfortunately, I must've gotten a bad batch, as all three balls had a bad bounce to them when I tried them out, and one even cracked when it hit the wall. I took the balls back and exchanged them, with no problems, and got the last can of "Blue Bullets" that they had on the shelf. In summary- disorganized and poor service. Went here for soccer cleats for my daughter. Not only were the boxes and displays in a disarray, but there was absolutely no one on the floor to help get sizes or help in any way. Only person that appeared to be working was the guy in the register. Really poor for the beginning of the fall season of youth sports. Dunham's is not much cheaper than Dicks, and the customer service is way better at Dicks! read more

This location intentionally puts price tag stickers over top of the expiration dates of the food that they sell so that people will not notice that they are buying food that is three months expired until eating it. Check all of the food here before you buy it and pull up the price tag to be sure that it is not expired. In general the employees here are idiots, you would be better going elsewhere. read more

I called the store to confirm whether or not they had a exercise bike that was on sale. The confirmed they had one in stock. I drove to the store only to find out they had none. I inquired about different model and again they had none. This is not the first time I've gone to this store for "sale items" only to find out they were out of stock. Not the best sporting goods store I've ever been in. I'm not even sure if anyone knew (or CARED) if I was there. It was right when I began getting back to the gym and I needed some new cross trainers. I was looking for some help for some shoes I'd seen on display but no one seemed to want to help me. Eventually i found a pair I liked that I could actually purchase without the aid of anyone who worked there. The oldest person working there seemed like they were a few days past puberty. She even had problems working the register and ATM scanner. Then, even asked me if I wanted to pay cash, but being I was purchasing expensive shoes I told her I needed to use my debit card. Finally the manager came over and got me on my way. But, not before I had to stand there for ten minutes waiting for the manager to arrive. Blah... read more

I've been in here a few times for soccer cleats and the service has always been somewhat mediocre. Most of the time someone gets us the shoes and we don't see them again for a while to see if things fit or we need anything else. Today was terrible. We walked in and the place was pretty dead. Just a few customers in the whole store. I asked the only person on register if someone could help me with shoes. Obviously he could not leave the register. He overhead paged someone to shoes. After about 5 mins I returned to him and he overhead paged again. Still no one five minutes later. With this being a rather popular sporting goods store for the area I would expect much better service. As I said, the store was dead. We waited maybe 10-15 mins without any service. The WORST customer service I have ever experienced. I was in there for 40 minutes and no one helped me find a softball glove! No one even acknowledged that I was there. I then went to check out and the cashier could not scan the bar code and she asked me if there were more back there and I replied yes. She then asked me to go back and get another one but that's her job. She should have done that. We asked for help twice before checking out too and they had no idea what they were talking about. Dreary inside, the way sporting goods stores used to be. A good place to find basic athletic wear. I visit at least once a month and usually come away disappointed. Their prices are high, IMO, and there are few sales. Eclectic mix of college team gear is much better than their more famous competitor, but you can do better, price-wise, at Penney's or other retailers if you want Pitt or Penn State stuff. read more
