I hadn't realized until entering the parking lot that it was the new building for Black Arsenal and I had in fact been to the store at both previous locations. While I have grown up with guns being used for hunting, I myself have limited experience with guns. Protection was more of our focus today when visited, but we asked questions today without yet purchasing anything. Employees are extremely knowledgeable and answered every question we asked. The really surprising thing about this great service is that it began online with a purchase via their website, but since Kempf is a real store with real people who care about their customers - even first time customers from out-of-state like me, my experience was far better than I've ever had with bigger online "virtual" merchants. In addition to great help in selecting the items I needed, I was impressed with the packing, shipping, delivery time half-way across the country, and price. I'd drop by the store to say thanks, but that would take at least two long days of driving! They claimed for it to have "no legible serial number" despite it having a four digit serial number on the frame. I mentioned that the ATF doesn't necessarily require serials from guns made before 1968. However they claimed a corporate policy is what prevented the sale to go through. Now I have to spend an additional 200$ for shipping and transfer fees to get it back. I won't be transferring a gun here again, I'll rather do it at Midwest on grape road where I know I won't have problems. I will come back to the store to use their range until Midwest range opens theirs up. Then I'll leave and not come back here except if there are great sales going on. Disappointing.

My husband had shot guns and was fairly comfortable with them, but I went into the class very nervous. Our instructor was Rayth and he did such a great job at explaining things in a thorough way without making me feel dumb for my lack of knowledge. My wife and I were shopping for a gift for an old neighbor and I saw an excellent deal on an automatic out the front pocket knife. We were met by Dean (owner) and his employee. This was the coolest gun store I've ever been to . The items for sale blends in with the military decor. Dean was very helpful and friendly we were so happy with the customer service and the shop that my wife who normally doesn't do gun stores wanted to buy a sweatshirt. Lots of older guns and newer guns as well as ammo and knives. Very good mix of gear. I recommend everyone come and see Dean and check this place out. Its so unique.

He made sure to point out that his business operates out of his home and gave a few other instructions about what to do after getting there. When I got there it was a nice house in a rural area. No big deal, I'm expecting a guy operating out of his garage. However, that isn't the case. He asked me to go down to his basement where his gun store is. So I walk through his living room, down a flight of stairs and then to my amazement there's an entire gun store in his basement. It's a sight to see. My wife and I test fired the gun we purchased right off his back porch which was cool, made the purchase and then we were off on our way. I'd certainly recommend this guy. He didn't make my wife feel dumb about guns and his attention to detail to ensure that his customer had everything needed to make the purchase as easy as possible was impressive. He's got a passion for it. I'll be making the trip to buy all my firearms from him.
