How can I give -5 stars for this location. I was at micro center store purchasing an item. After leaving micro center. I told my friend where we are both golfers and play many other sports. I wanted to purchase a hat and my friend wanted some workout cables for stretching. We couldn't find them while we're just walking and looking all over the place. They had them in a small Corner in the back of the store. We asked the employee there that was restocking sporting items if they had the workout cables. The. All the guy said back was " MHMM YUP" so my friend said just don't keep on asking him. Let's ask someone else. So I said fine. As I was going to the register with at least 9-10 items in my hand to purchase. We called the manager named KATIE and told her about the situation that happened. She told us that he doesn't know about the stockings in the store. He's only a cashier. So I told her that WE SEEN THE GUY STOCKING AND ORGANIZING ITEMS AND YOU'RE HERE LYING ABOUT HIS JOB ?! So all she say's was. Oh what do you want me to tell you then?! So my friend tells Katie. Is this how you guys handle business here ?! Then she didn't reply anything back. This needs to be reached out to the corporate center for this unacceptable, unprofessional service and unreasonable excuses to give out to your customers.... check your employee's and your manager's store management. read more

This store is horrible. They have plenty of racks that are clearance supposedly at 10 or $15 and then when you pick one and go to the register they will try and charge you the regular ticketed price. Beware of these people here that don't wanna honor what they actually advertise and when you address this with the manager of Haley shewolf actually attempt to argue with you instead of solving the false misleading advertisement but go there you'll see there are plenty of $10 $15 clearance racks where they end up charging you the regular ticketed price at the register instead of the $10 or $15 clearance pricing. Since I was in the area, I went to Dunham's to see if they had any weights in stock. I only go to Dunham's if I'm looking for a specific item that I can't find elsewhere (locally). As I was looking for weights, an employee was pulling up a cart with more merchandise to stock. I asked him if there were more weights than what was on the shelf and on his cart but the answer was no. He was nice and even apologized for not having more weights. How is this place even still open? Does anybody even work here? Does anybody even shop here? There's literally nobody in here. I am the only person in the whole store besides one associate who I asked for help. She was helping someone else and made a call to someone, I'm assuming to send someone to help me. I've still been standing in the shoes for 10 minutes waiting for someone to grab a shoe for me from the back. This is the third time I've been here in my life and this is the same experience every time. I knew there was a reason I never come here. Low prices aren't worth anything if nobody can assist you to even obtain the item you want to buy. Finally got my soccer shoes and made my way to the register! The great thing about nobody shopping here is that there is nobody in line! But what do you know, my shoes wouldn't ring up. Not the cashiers fault but she kept hitting buttons and the UPC wouldn't scan. Then she kept hitting more buttons. Then called someone for help. Person over the pager said it would be a few minutes because they were busy. I said to her, "I'm sorry, I've already been in here for 20 minutes just trying to get the shoes from the back." So I got fed up and left. Who has time in their day to spend 30 minutes trying to buy an item that took them 5 minutes to pick out? What is it with sporting goods stores that they always have terrible customer service? You would think they would try harder- I could get these items at Target or Meijer. Great service today they close at 10pm. I called at 10 pm I was surprised they answered and was happy to help even as the store was closing. They solved my issue and set aside my item for me to pick up the next day. I have seen bad reviews for these stores. Why do you go through the trouble to build a demo inversion table. But not have the time of day to assist a customer in trying it out. I went to Dick's and they had no problem... No greeting or farewell. Hurts my feelings. This place isn't up to date with there sports wear , if it is, I'm having trouble finding them because its scattered. Finding Waldo would be a walk in the park compared to finding what you are looking for in the sports wear section and Waldo creeps me out! They need to organize! Customer service.... Well.. As the cashier was talking to his boyfriend non stop I felt left out. I OBVIOUSLY wanted to know about their problems as well. As the transaction was done he didn't even say anything, not even a good bye. On top of being avoided he didn't acknowledge that I was leaving? Ouch. My advice is to go to DICKS Sporting goods that's 1 minute away. They have SOME friendly workers and up to date wear. read more

I actually had to call the store to ask someone a question about exercise equipment and they didn't understand what I was talking about so they had to hand it off to someone else. Went to the Peru IL Dunham store to purchase gym shoes. Nice clerk helped me out and I bought a pair...Under Armor brand. That was Thursday 12/9. Wore them the next day at the gym for approx 90 minutes. They did not hit my achilles right and created a blister. Went home and packed them back in the box but realized that I must have tossed the receipt. On Monday 12/13 I went to the store to exchange them Knowing that i was going to have to spend more money as these had been on sale. When I entered the store i saw the refund/exchange policy sign stating receipts are mandatory to do anything. I thought maybe talking to the person in charge might help. All she would do is quote the store policy while she rang up a customer. I ask her to finish what she was doing and then we could discuss it. She quoted the policy 1/2 dozen more times even when I asked if some thing could be worked out. She stated she would be "written up" if she did the exchange with out a receipt. Although i understand not having the receipt is my fault, there are at least 4-5 ways to determine if I paid for the shoes available to retailers today...she didnt look for a solution. This place is Dunham's now and I'm only basing this on my one experience. If you're looking for golf apparel and equipment don't even bother wasting your time. Go to Golfsmith and feel like you've walked into Golfer's Paradise like I did. If you're looking for other sporting goods, I'm sure this place would be great. Horrible customer service. The hubby took the youngest kid to buy some shoes and waited and waited for service. He wasn't the only one as other customers appeared to have been waiting longer than him. Went all the way up to the cashier to get some assistance and all they could do is page the clerk. All the way back down to the shoes and still no clerk. Seriously? We WANT to spend money here. Maybe they don't want business or customers? I think on most visits there have been maybe two or three employees that I have seen in the whole store. I will definitely be spending my money in a place that actually wants customers. read more

I walked into the Dunham's to buy a kayak. I was looking for about an hour and no one came up to ask if I needed help. I had to call the store to get them to unlock the bathroom door for me because no one came after I asked the lady at the register twice. When I finally decided on the one I wanted I walked up to the register and they rang it up. I was 400 some dallors but the sticker on it said 200 and I was asking them more than once to show me the 200 dallor one and they acted like I was stupid and kept pointing out and telling me that I wasn't getting it for 200. I did not appreciate the service and drove to the one on Hall rd where I went a few weeks back and they remembered who I was and asked me if I needed help only mins after I walked in the door. read more
