Love the brands, color selection, and variety of styles. Customer service is always top notch.

I went into the store thinking that I wanted one kind of shoe, but walked out with another (which in this case turned out to be perfect!). The sales associate was patient and understanding and helped me to navigate the many different kinds of shoes that they sell. I tried on MANY pairs, before deciding on their fresh foam x shoes. I think that New Balance shoes in general are pricey, and should be considered an investment in one's health. Haven't been happy with the way my shoes have been fitting lately and heard good things about New Balance and have been trying to stop in for some time. They close at 6 during the week -- which makes it almost impossible to stop in. Stopped in Saturday afternoon - 2 people on the floor with other customers. I wait - patiently, checking out the product. Another customer walks in.... Salesman goes and helps the new customer within a few minutes - totally ignoring me. Other salesman sees this, after a few minutes he acknowledges it to me and tries his best to juggle me and his other customer. Needless to say, I got next to nothing accomplished and will be going elsewhere for shoes. I hope this is addressed and customers are treated more fairly in the future. read more

This is a great store. I have been doing business with them for over 5 years. The staff are pleasant and knowledgeable. They help you find the right shoe instead of just selling shoes. Overall NB shoes are expensive so it is really important to get it right when you buy the shoes. read more

New Balance Troy - That new new - Shoe Stores Near Me - Troy, Michigan

We are a family of runners so we've been in a lot of different shoe stores. We have recently started wearing New Balance after our previous shoes made some uncomfortable changes to the design. We have had a great experience at this store every time we come in. The associates are always very knowledgeable and helpful. I brought my mom in over the weekend and they did a scan of her foot, asked her questions and also watched her walk before recommending a couple shoes for her to try. I've been buying shoes at this store twice a year for several years. The shoes and the employees are absolutely the best. It's always a pleasure to shop at this store. Last Friday I bought a pair of new running shoes and discovered a few days later that the wrong size shoes were in the box. I had no trouble exchanging them, in fact it was such an easy and pleasurable experience that I just felt I had to share it with any potential New Balance customers. I believe that every single employee in the store apologized to me for the mix-up. Unfortunately they did not have the correct size in stock so they ordered them from a different location. Very helpful sales associates and knowledgeable on their products. We got my wife's shoes and some clothing for her 3 day breast cancer walk here. Nice store too. As a follow-up, the shoes we purchased for her 3-day were not as supportive over the long weekend as she would have liked. She did make the decision though to sacrifice padding for weight, so you can't have it all. Cool deal is you can return the shows within a certain time-frame if you don't like them. Having always purchased my NB shoes from local shoe stores, I was delighted to see an 'actual' New Balance store in Troy. I cannot state more emphatically how much I appreciate the service, selection, and all-around quality of this Troy store. I was so taken by the outstanding service of the two sales attendants who took car of my wife and me that I called the company headquarters to offer my 'Kudos' for their attention and professionalism. Was quite surprised to find myself speaking to one of the owners of the Troy franchise, and lauded our experience. My podiatrist prescribed some inserts and told me that new balance would be a perfect shoe for my inserts so I went to the new Balance Troy I walked in nobody spoke to me I shopped around I looked around no one greeted me I was in there about 15/ 20 minutes no one said a word I am African-American woman with money to spend however when elderly white woman walked into the store she was greeted and told that someone will be with her shortly I have money to spend and I felt neglected as a customer I made sure that I called customer service and they assured me that each store was owned individually they sent me a coupon to use online so I would not have to go in the store again moral of the story is you never know who's coming to buy read more

Used to be good, but the last couple of years the staff have turned into a motley crew of liars and thieves. On a recent visit, I asked for a particular shoe in a color that wasn't on display, but was listed on the NB website. I was told with certainty that the color wasn't available, and hadn't been for two years. However, I was able to order them online without any problem. On another occasion, they didn't have the shoes I wanted in my size. Instead of offering to order them from another store - as had always been done in the past - the salesman tried to convince me that I really needed the next size up, which they did have in stock, and that for this particular shoe my true size would be too small. I tried on the larger size, pointed out that they felt like clown shoes, and got another round of excuses about how they would "break in" and somehow magically become smaller. Again, ordered the same shoes online in my proper size, and they fit perfectly. I would guess that the store is now driven by commission, and the only thing that matters is the number of pairs sold, with customer services taking a seat far to the rear. Too bad. In the future, I will only use this location as a showroom, ignoring their lies and misdirection and purchasing online instead. read more

And, twice a year they have a big sale where last year's shoes are nearly 30% off. When we're talking $120 for shoes, that's a big deal! Bought some shoes in Vegas back in March that just weren't holding up. I had the receipt, so I called the location in Troy, and spoke with Jessica. She said bring everything in, and she'd look it over. She fitted both my wife & I to make sure we were in the best possible shoes. Gave us both replacement shoes with no hassle. She exemplified "customer service" today, and probably made lifetime customers out of us. read more

Where did the store go? I purchased a pair of Aravon shoes here in September. They are elegant enough to wear with a skirt or dress and comfortable enough to walk for miles. Went back yesterday to buy a pair of Aravon sandals. But the store has closed and there's no sign saying where/if they moved. read more

I started buying shoes at this store about 10 years ago and continued to do so (despite moving across the country) because the service and selection were fabulous. Not sure what happened, but it's not the same place. My parents went to get shoes there a few months ago and were treated badly and left. Recently, I went in and was surprised to find the selection wasn't what it used to be (the store looks rather empty, and they didn't have as many styles as the store closer to where I live now). More importantly, the service was appalling: unfriendly and not very knowledgeable from the staff and worse than that (dishonest) from the owner. I usually go out of my way to support bricks and mortar stores, but I absolutely will not be going back there. Two stars only because they do carry NB running shoes and stock hard to find sizes. Went to the NB store near Toledo a few days ago (different owner from the three MI stores) and got great service there. So at least there is an alternative, even if it's far away. read more

I'm new in town and your store was a great example of poor customer service today. A few facts: (1) I am an organizational performance and development professional. (2) It increases YOUR sales when you greet your customer when they enter your establishment. (3) It increases YOUR sales when you offer to assist your customer when they pick up your product and look to you for assistance. (4) It increases YOUR sales when you come out from behind your counter and offer to assist your customer instead of staring back at your customer and doing nothing. (5) You could consider this to be "free consulting advice" but that would not be correct. It has a price...a negative one. (6) As I put YOUR product down - which YOU did see me do...and as I was leaving YOUR store shaking my head in disbelief...which YOU also saw me do...YOU finally acknowledged me!!! Only then did you speak to me from all the way across the store! YOU wished me to "Have a good one"...albeit on my way OUT the door without making a purchase. Thank you! (7) I will have a good one...a good reason to shop at Amazon instead of your store. Amazon's business model isn't dependent on direct "customer interaction" but then neither was your store today. (8) YOUR competition doesn't really need to beat you if you're already in the process of beating yourself. I'm hoping 2015 brings some " New Balance" to your store on East Big Beaver in Troy, MI. It just won't be me providing it. read more
