Kava Culture - Forgot to snap a photo of the ceremonial tea that was on the house before I even ordered. Such a welcoming experience!

I'm always up for a coffee shop adventure, so I drove over--and wow, was I in for a fun surprise! Kava Culture isn't your typical coffee shop--it's a whole new take on drinks and hangouts. I was greeted right away by the friendly barista (bartender?), and when I mentioned it was my first time, she immediately launched into sharing the vision behind Kava Culture. The menu features plant-based, health-conscious, alcohol-free drinks, teas, and coffees. She patiently explained the health benefits of each tea option, which I really appreciated. The first "bula" is on the house--a ceremonial tea drink served in a coconut bowl. It was surprisingly creamy with a little tingly after-effect that warmed my tongue. The barista even took the tea shot with me after a shared toast to good health and a cheerful "Bula!" Such a thoughtful way to welcome guests and make the experience feel personal. I ordered the cold brew coffee with added kava, which is said to help stabilize blood sugar and reduce stomach upset. All the creamer options are plant-based, so I went with macadamia nut milk, sweetened with a bit of maple syrup. The coffee itself was delicious--smooth, rich, and refreshing. But then came the sticker shock: my 16oz coffee rang up to $12 before tip. That's more than I've ever paid for a coffee in my life--and I've had some pretty epic brews in Vienna, Florence, Budapest, San Francisco, and NYC. I guess you're paying for both the premium ingredients and the one-of-a-kind experience. Despite the price, I'd definitely come back--if only to introduce my family and friends to the vibe and kava drinks. The shop is open 8am to midnight, and I love their vision of offering the community a sober alternative to the bar scene. There's a lot to love about Kava Culture, and I'm glad I found it.

Didn't take long to discover there was a brewery nearby, so of course I stopped. Ordered a flight, and each of the four were absolutely delicious. I do not drink beer, but he does. My first experience at Aeonian was being told they don't have ice and that my water would be lukewarm tap water. That did not go over well. Since that visit, they do have ice which is awesome. On two of my visits, I have ordered different salads. The salads themselves are huge, but the protein on top was not. On my latest visit, I ordered the chicken tenders on top of my salad. It came out with literally what I would say is a single chicken tender. It was honestly ridiculous for a $5 up charge. My family has raved about the fries and burgers though. The service is average. The servers have always been kind, but not always super attentive. The brewery is family friendly and very clean. All of that to say, try it for yourself. We clearly have differing opinions in our house and you may find you enjoy it.

Yes. Good doughnuts…read moredon't need long detailed reviews. So, this one will be short. Located close to the location of a large meeting I was part of, I was easily able to pick up 2 dozen donuts on the morning of my meeting. The extremely nice woman behind the counter hooked me up with two boxes of assorted heaven. As an avid donut eater and a bit of a connoisseur of mans most delightful creation, DDandC nailed it. Fresh, good ingredients and a lot to choose from. The two dozen doughnuts that I brought in to my meeting were essentially demolished. As I was not local, the people who were local were extremely interested in knowing where I picked them up and I happily told them. A few had even mentioned being there before and some even planning to go. would I go back? 100%. Whenever possible, I bring a box or two of doughnuts to customers. When I do, I make it count and the people notice. When they see that I've actually searched out for a really good local doughnut shop, they appreciate that and take note. I'm not bringing in your fast-food donut places garbage "donuts" either. I'd rather bring nothing at all if I can't get the goods. And I will travel early in the morning, just to get high quality doughnuts. Got get some of these right now!
