The location is fantastic, a 5 minute walk the beach. The inside is nice and has ample seating with Wi-Fi and outlets. The bad--each time I have gone, there's always something going on with the staff. There is one regular worker in particular who I've witnessed: - Turn away customers who want a smoothie or juice because "the blender is already cleaned", a full hour or two before closing - Complain loudly about people coming from the beach and bringing sand inside (as my group is walking in from the beach) - Go on a prejudiced rant about LGBT+ people, loud enough for the entire cafe to hear - Go around and tell customers that the cafe is closing soon, an hour before closing. One time she mentioned it several times to me until I felt pressured to leave at 2:30pm, and she closed the cafe as I left (they are supposed to be open until 3pm) I'll continue going to Rockaway Roasters anytime I'm at the beach and craving their nitro cold brew, but probably only to-go. And not too close to closing time.

Beach 97 area is nearby. Close to a few bus lines and A train (for us, Q52 or Q53 stops in the Queens Center mall area). There's a large menu but we've been getting ice cream only. Prices are great. A small is a good-sized scoop at $5.50, even in a waffle cone. Finally asked for mine in a cup then topped with the waffle cone to avoid dripping all over the sides. Many flavors to choose from (saw one boozy flavor for 21+) but the Chocolate Lovers Chocolate is my pick so far - still sweet but dark chocolate with swirls and choc chunks in it. Had a taste of the Sea Salt Caramel Truffle - too sweet for me. Rainbow and Chocolate sprinkles are free. Other toppings cost $1 and given pre-packed so can add onto ice cream by yourself. There are a few tables indoors. Outdoors, there's a sandy area in the back with an umbrella-covered table/seats plus beach chairs. Service has been great. Got a "buy 10, get 1 free" punch card.
