After a Jibe cycling ride last weekend, we got the chance to enjoy some catered Mancini sandwiches…read moreto celebrate Jibe's recent move to a new cycling studio. The sandwich was an amazing surprise. I had the opportunity to try Mancinis a few weeks back with some friends and was unfortantely unable to attend. The ham and roast beef sandwich that I had was 10/10. The bread is something I'll be thinking about for a while now (until I get to try it, again)!

Fantastically large sandwiches with fresh and house-made ingredients. The Italian was big enough to…read moreshare and even could do it as 1/3s or 1/4s if you had a smaller appetite. The food and bread here is delicious and that's why it's a five star. BUT I have qualms about the following: - My SOLE interaction with staff was one half shouting "Did you order ahead?" No "Hi", "Let us know if you need help", "Have you been here before if not you order on the screen", nothing. Literally the order was put on the counter with nothing said. Had to explain to the person behind us how to order. - A tip screen despite my being the cashier who ordered and customized my items and grabbed my own sides and got my own drinks and paid for it all at the kiosk. Sandwhich maker isn't a tipped job. Pay your employees more if they aren't making enough. - $3.25 for a bag of chips that run $1.25 retail and $4 for a Sanpellegrino is unhinged. Grab a soda and chips at the Citgo across the corner and save yourself the trouble. Two chips and two drinks was 2/3 the cost of the entire sandwhich.

I'm on a Roll…read more Long-standing sandwich shop that first opened back in 1939 and now operates ten shops throughout the Auburn-Lewiston area. More than just sandwiches, as they also serve up pasta, salads, and pizza. They also have calzones, but everyone knows that calzones are like pizzas, but they're harder to eat. They're dumb. #IYKYK ;) This is one of those places Carissa grew up eating on a regular basis, so I knew it was a "must try" when visiting her hometown of Lewiston. The Good: *Employee-owned since 2021 *Delivery and pickup available thru their website *Catering available *Friendly service *Whoopie pies are a must-get while here. The Peanut butter one was really good. *Street parking and private lot *The bread is really soft and good and comes from their own bakery. The Meh: *Overall the sandwich was good, but nothing mind-blowing. I do like the obscene amounts of veggies on the sandwich, tho. The Ugly: *Putting oil on a sandwich is still pretty weird to me, but hey, you do you, boo. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Conclusion: Good sandwich, friendly service, and don't forget the Whoopie pies!

I have heard about the Jersey Mike hype and they finally decided to come to the Lewiston/Auburn…read morearea conveniently located on Center street adjacent to Shaws Supermarket and 99 restaurant. This place was hopping, so I can understand how some would be frustrated trying to place a phone order when they are also handling a line of customers to the door and an influx of online orders. For a place that was busy, their upkeep in appearance is good. I love the fact they freshly slice the meat and cheese when you place the order. You are able to witness them make your sandwich from start to finish. It looked hectic behind the counter, but given they had only been open a month or less, I am sure they are still working out the kinks as to how to manage the flow of work and staff. I had their club sub which is turkey, ham, provolone (I left this off), applewood smoke bacon, mayo and I asked for it "Mike's Way" which includes onions, lettuce, tomatoes, spices and their juice (oil and red wine vinegar). A regular sandwich was more than enough for me as they don't skimp on the meats. Unlike some food chains they put more meat the bread which is the way I like it. All the veggies tasted fresh and not like they been sitting there for a while. I love their sandwich, their approach to making it and the quality of ingredients they use. I actually prefer them over Subway. Subway is more bread less meat, Jersey Mikes is more meat less bread. I will definitely come back here again anytime I pass thru. It's worth the wait.
