I have been driving by this location every week and have always wanted to stop. I finally was motivated to stop when a great friend of mine bought me a gift card for my birthday! I decided to stop in and order take out. There were a lot of call-in tickets ahead of me and a few tables already waiting for their orders. She let me know it would be about 30 minutes. No problem. I was able to look over everything while waiting before settling into a very comfy leather chair right next to the door. Great vantage point to see all of the amazing treats they sell. They have donuts, scones, muffins, turnovers and dozens of fudge flavors!! I ordered a couple of donuts to go along with a blueberry turnover. SO GOOD!!! The donuts were perfectly fluffy and sweet and the turnover, flakey fruity and perfect! Great - fresh made to order breakfast sandwiches on a biscuit. They are satisfying - so tasty and filling! They are hearty. The couple that owns and runs this business are down to earth and authentic. I loved listening to them work together, it made me laugh when they had a disagreement, she apologized when I went to pick up and pay for my order. I told her, no need, it was like I was at a family home with real people having real conversations. I highly recommend this business and I look forward to using up the rest of my gift card and once that is done, I will be back for more yummy food. read more

This cafe/bakery offers a great selection of pastries, bagels, donuts, pies, and many other treats. They offer breakfast sandwiches, and a limited menu of lunch items...which you'll need to stop in and read the menu of blackboard for what they have on any given day. The selection of homemade fudge is truly the broadest I've seen anywhere. They offer a both traditional flavors, and interesting more unique flavors as well. Check out the photos. They also have a refrigerator sections with slices of pies, macaroons, and other treats all packed and ready to go. The service is very friendly, and it feels like you're stepping into a neighborhood shop where everyone knows each other...very welcoming vibe. The day me and my family stopped in, we were hungry for breakfast. We tried the pumpkin spice crumble muffin, the bacon/egg/cheddar on a croissant sandwich, and a cinnamon maple something pastry. All of it was DELICIOUS! All very fresh and made with love. The breakfast sandwich was one of the best I've had...the bacon and cheese was high quality, and the flavors blended so beautifully. I had no idea this place was in my home town until I saw it on Yelp. Cute little place with charming decor and different seating options. Lots of baked goods, fudge, paninis, bagels and lunch specials. A nice place to hang out or grab something to go. Bagels were nothing to write home about but the cinnamon bun and macadamia nut cookie were yummy treats. Will need to come back and try some of the fudge - many flavors to choose from. Loved this place . It is so nice on the inside, the owners could not have been more welcoming. The fudge looked delicious there are so many options. I had a cake pop and a coffee. I was there very late in the day so there was not a lot left, which makes it clear that everything is baked fresh each day . Next time I will be sure to arrive early . The cake was chocolate with vanilla icing and was so moist and delicious. They had homemade macrons , scones , muffins, donuts and more . Saturday is biscuit day and I am going to be sure to go back and get a breakfast sandwich. I was told they were going to start making paninis and homemade soup soon.. Wow! I am kicking myself for not stopping in sooner. We went this past Thursday in the afternoon and was instantly greeted by a very sweet older gentleman. We work in the area, and anyone who, lives or works in gray, knows good places are hard to find. Walking in, my nose was hit with the most amazing smells. I smelled sugar, butter, chocolate and fruit. Looking over at the counter I could see the culprit. Beautiful mini mountains off fudge. We walked around for a bit and saw the pastries that were left over from being fresh baked that morning, cookies, cake pops galore, gorgeous cheesecake slices in the cooler and a great board of breakfast sandwiches and paninis. As an added bonus the coffee stand had a great array of flavored syrups as well as tea selections. We came in for a Bismarck, but to our sadness, they were all gone. Instead we grabbed a piece of Oreo cheesecake (a hefty piece), a blueberry, Greek yogurt pastry (with a light icing drizzle) and two pieces of fudge. As soon as I got into our vehicle, I broke into the blueberry danish. OH MY TASTEBUDS! It was light, buttery and the blueberry and yogurt filling was sweet but not overly sweet. My fiancé just laughed at me as I demolished it. Even making a joke about how "bad" it must of been. We saved the Oreo cheesecake and fudge for later. Both were equally good. The fudge wasn't overly sweet (definitely try the praline one!). The cheesecake was flavorful, dense but also light at the same time. I can't wait to go back! They better have a filled donut or Bismarck the next time I walk in! ;) read more

We have driven by this place a many times and finally stopped in. I wish we had sooner. Great interior... very warm and inviting. We only had iced coffee and bagels and they were fantastic!! Everything looked so yummy. I am meeting a friend this week for coffee and I'll be sure to try some of the pastries and update this review. It's a shame that someone left a 1 star review for a complaint that was obviously their own doing... We experienced outstanding service here. Everyone was warm and pleasant to deal with. Great place! There's nothing like this anywhere around. I've been looking for the best breakfast sandwich around Portland for a long time. I've tried some good ones, but there's nothing I've found like the classic bacon egg and cheese on an everything that I had at The Sweet Spot. The service was spectacular, and the ambiance could not be beat as there were many instances of vintage memorabilia that gave off the vibes of an old fashioned corner store. We're just down the street and have found some AMAZING baked goods here. The best finds so far are the breakfast sandwiches (my bacon, egg and cheese on a homemade biscuit was the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had, and I've had hundreds!) and the Oreo cheesecake. If you try a few things every time you go in, you're sure to find a dozen delicious treats to come back for time after time. I wished I lived closer. Or Maybe not. So much there-cookies, cakes, pies, fudge, cupcakes, cake pops, fruit squares, whoopie pies, cheesecakes, lemony things, bagels, scones, muffins I am sure I left stuff out. Staff is VERY friendly and willing to help. The ambience and decor/display is amazing. I wanted to sit in there all day sip coffee and "sample" items. Prices are good, treats were so yummy, WIN-WIN. I wanted to love this place. I had never been in but saw great reviews. I ordered a whole cheesecake for a birthday. When I ordered it the woman on the phone told me she would call me back to let me know the price. I had a missed call from their number but no message and thought nothing of it because I was clear I didn't really care what the price was when she told me it was $5 a slice. The interior was really nicely decorated, which was surprising given the exterior. Arrived to pick it up at the scheduled time. I told them I was there to pick up a cheesecake I ordered. The older woman at the register didn't ask my name or smile. She just said in a grumpy voice "You never called me back. I told you to call me back." I told them I had no message from them and stood there a little dumbfounded. She shouted at the younger woman and man "you didn't keep that cheesecake for that lady that never called back right?" Nope. They sold it. No apology. I said "this was for a birthday" and they only looked at me angry. No offer to try and make it right, no redirection to cookies or other products. I left in tears and will definitely not be back. So sad that a business would treat a new customer this way. The owner's response below says it all. As far as I knew I had put in an order. I was never told I had to pay ahead or I definitely would have called back. I had no message so this really is a sad case of bad communication. However responding with such anger and hostility is never okay. Never once did I yell. I was calm and mostly appalled by the employees anger right from the minute she figured out who I was. I love this place! Family owned and operated by very warm and friendly people. This is a hidden gem! Very calm and relaxing inside... Perfect place to meet a friend for coffee or tea with a sweet treat or just sit and read a book. They have a variety of delicious baked goods, cake and fudge! They are now serving breakfast sandwiches and the their bagels are to die for. Grandpie loves their fudge :) My kids ask to stop for a snack after school.. I visited this morning because I saw a post on the Cumberland FB page about an amazing cinnamon bun. I ordered a fresh asiago bagel, a cinnamon bun with maple sugar and a pudding/cake push pop for my kiddo. Everything was delicious and we ate our goodies there.
