FINALLY!!!! We moved to Auburn a little over a year ago and have been trying to check this spot out since. Pizza is usually something we make at home, especially since moving up here. It's all Domino's, papa John's and house of pizzas with that weird dry frozen dough. So takeout pizza is completely random and last min for us. But I've learned that you have to plan ahead for this place, open til sell out, plus operated and owned by one dude, who may or may not be a close relative to Superman. We had my mom up for the weekend and were able to grab a couple pies from here for her birthday. My pickle obsessed 11yr old wanted their specialty pickle pizza, we compromised for a half pickle roni half cheese. The birthday girl (my mom) chose the mushroom Florentine, which was to die for! The garlic cream sauce tasted roasted and sweet, there was enough to keep the pizza moist but not soggy. We walked in and the food smelled beautiful. This pizza place is cute! and kind of scrappy! It is in the basement of a library and I think only one guy was working, taking orders and cooking pizzas? But we didn't have to wait long. We got a 16 inch pizza with garlic cream sauce, spinach, feta and kalamata olives. Something had a zing - I thought it was the olives, my sisters thought it was a the sauce. It was very good. Really enjoyed it. There was a bank of parking spots right to it. Everything was easy. I have been searching literally for years for a decent pizza where I now live in CA- but Cibo's took me right back to my favorite childhood NY style pizza. Run- don't walk- to this single proprietor pizza spot located in auburn ME library- separate entrance. Even my other half- who is vegan- was raving about her vegan pizza. Hands down, my favorite pizza experience I've had in the Lewiston/Auburn area! Located right below the Auburn public library, it makes for a great lunch spot after story time with your littles or a morning of perusing books. Although the space is quite small and simple, the pizza (the reason for your visit) is the star. The options on the menu are fun and original and since it's a pizza joint, it's pretty fun that it's all they offer-- that's when you know it's good! The owner is super friendly and made our visit even better, from helping us decide on our pizza order to answering our questions! Keep in mind, if looking to order takeout, the owner mentioned that they are usually very busy during a dinner rush (and sell out most nights) so if you're interested in ordering, it's best to do online rather than by calling. I'm not sure how ordering in the restaurant works at those busy times but I do know we had no issues during lunch. The pizzas also came out quickly which was a huge bonus considering we had our two small children with us. Not to keep this review going however it is important to mention that pizza crust is probably my favorite part of the pizza and the crust here is phenomenal! I love how the owner really took time to hone in his recipes and is keeping the restaurant aspect of the business low-key so that he can maintain the quality of a delicious tasting pie! We moved here from Brooklyn back in 2019, and among the things we miss the most up here in Maine is exceptional pizza. We have worked our way through a handful of joints in L/A and it's been hit or miss. Tonight we decided to give Cibo a shot, and so glad we did--and wondering what took us so long. We got a cheese (in my opinion, this is the gold standard by which every pizza joint should be measured), and constructed our own with roni, caramelized onion and fennel (ooh mama!), and roasted mushrooms (earthy and rich). They are legit in claiming that they're cranking out NY-style pies--thinner crust, overall larger pie size (16"), and the tangy cheese and tomato sauce alchemy. Extra bonus points from me for offering vegan and vege options, including house made roni (tried it--yum!), and chik un (will try next time!). We will definitely return to Cibo and see what else they got. Excited to support this local business and talented pizza maker! read more

Located in a narrow space beneath the library is super cool! Old book deposit door remains just inside the entryway. I arrived about 6:30, which is only 30 minutes before they close and the friendly guy behind the counter happily took my order. Seems odd to me they would close at 19:00, but hey this is Auburn, Maine. I ordered the sausage and fennel and walked it back to my hotel. The crust is a perfect New York style, crispy on the bottom; but, flexible, tasty and not at all tough or too chewy as most places are churning out. You can tell they have put effort into this dough recipe. There was a good ratio of sausage, sauce and cheese. The sausage was finely ground and I would prefer to have had some bigger chunks. I wasn't certain if they would add some fresh fennel, or fennel seeds. Honestly, I'm not detecting much in the way of fennel taste, sight or aroma. Regardless, I'd stop back in a heartbeat next time I'm in Auburn! read more

This is the best NY style pizza in the central Maine area! Every one we have ordered has been amazing. My Dad grew up in Brooklyn and I pick up and deliver pizza to him from Cibo's., he lives an hour away. Just order "unsliced, half-baked". Pre heat your oven and pizza stone or tray to 500 degrees and pop the pizza in to finish it off. Just watch it so you know your timing. His oven takes 5-6 minutes, and it's perfect, every time. Ordering is done online, you can order for right away, or schedule for when you want it. I order in the morning, when they aren't open yet, select the time my husband will be picking it up after work, and I get a confirmation email when they open & when it's ready. So easy! My husband just walks in and picks it up! Check business hours online. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

This is my wife's and I's absolute favorite pizza place in all of Maine. The customer service is always top notch and we honestly haven't been able to find better pizza. My wife has a dairy allergy and they are always so kind and accommodating to her allergy. Their dairy free options are amazingly delicious and they have actual dairy free and vegan options on their menu not just a dairy cheese substitute option. They also offer yummy cheesy bread that is dairy free and we haven't been able to find that anywhere else. Wow, just wow!. Looks like these guys actually know how to make and bake pizza. Maine is really not a place for pizza because no one, until now knew how to make a pizza. They mostly used conveyor belt ovens which are really for pita bread and other things. Those ovens aren't meant for pizza. Pizza is not suppose to be cooked in a pan either!. 90% of "pizza" in Maine is a joke. Ok now that I'm done bitchin' and moanin' I have to say Cibo is different. These guys are either from out of state or have been taught correctly how to make real pizza. After trying Cibo, every other pizza shop in Maine is just a joke!.
