Located in an older building, the cafe has a relaxing, "stay a while" vibe. We were drawn to the large prayer wall filled individual prayers left by patrons. Soothing, compassionate feel. We are not religious and noticed the highly religious theme of this cafe, which is OK with us as it seems the owners/management walk the talk. They donate a percentage of their profits to charities. We ordered a mango-pineapple smoothie and two decaf mochas. Our granddaughter felt the smoothie's pineapple taste overshadowed the mango, but enjoyed it. We liked that the mochas were smooth, had a rich coffee flavor and were not too sweet. The warmed cinnamon roll which we shared was perfectly done. Soft, gooey and full of cinnamon with minimal icing. We purchased a bag of coffee beans, which this company roasts themselves, for our son for Father's Day. When Manteo, we will be back.

The muffins are awesome and our favorite is cranberry orange....never disappoints and we highly recommend. This place is always busy early in the AM but they seem to be well staffed with experienced crews....owner always seems to be there making sure everything runs smoothly.

One of the people in our party is allergic to fruit. The ice cream tasted funny and they immediately began to swell up. Upon looking at the ice cream more closely you could literally see residue from another ice cream that clearly had fruit that caused the allergy. When we notified the employee we were told very rudely, "there are signs that say no refunds and warnings about allergies" . We finally at least got her to replace a fresh scoop, which the person didn't eat. This was not a good allergy that the person gets (or got) from being in the presence of something, this was residual from the scooper that was reused and not cleaned in the ice cream purchased. All that for $38 for three ice creams also. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to Lollypops for good service and a safer experience!
