I'm disheartened to write this review but I'm very disappointed with the services here. We used to come here for the self wash, but then it got too expensive (especially what we were paying for, given it isn't the cleanest place). We found another place we like for baths that is cheaper and cleaner. As for grooming, quality varied on the groomer. Overall, I was generally satisfied given the price and the relatively quick turnaround time of 2-3 hours. Unfortunately, the groomer who did the best job with our dog no longer works here. Today was the last straw. I made a grooming appointment for my dog (a rescue who understandably has a difficult time with grooming), weeks in advance. They refused to take him today because he was not medicated. I'm absolutely all for keeping the groomers and dogs safe, and I understand their reasoning. However, their lack of communication was extremely disappointing. No one informed us at our previous appointment or when we booked this appointment weeks ago that medication would now be required. Like many people, we have busy schedules and planned ahead specifically for this appointment. Rearranging everything at the last minute is not easy for us, and we cannot simply come in another day on short notice. read more

Quick little stop here to get my dogs nails trimmed. It was a quick and painless stop. It cost 17 dollars for the machine or 12 bucks for a nail clipper. Semi cheaper than petsmart / petco and you're supporting local ! They took him to the back and up on a table before majority of the self wash station started. They asked a few questions and then I exited because he's extra dramatic if I'm around. He was in and out in about 8 minutes. Solid job they did. They told me he started to foam a little bit at the mouth which signals he was stressed. I browsed around and they have a small store front but lots of products just not a ton of each in stock. They had frozen treats, ground beef, dog food, toys etc. Staff were pretty great and so that's a bonus. read more

I am writing this with extreme disappointment as my most recent experience has brought me here. I used to use the self wash station frequently, and this time I inquired for a full grooming as I needed to spend time cleaning our home for our reset day. My dog is very high maintenance and requires a thorough level of care. Half of the staff here is very kind and welcoming (Lexie is a very sweet woman, who we will miss dearly). The other half are very rude women who cannot be bothered to assist with check out or anything. After speaking with the owner Jeannie, the head groomer Erica, and the manager Paris, they told me they couldn't do anything to assist with my major concerns of how my dog was groomed. Pictures attached for reference on what was supposed to be the full spa package. ($120.75) - ears were not cleaned - paw pads were knicked when they shaved the fur - his face was still oily, was not washed properly - nails appear to have not been touched - top of paws have a very chopped cut, proper tools were not used. There are also very long pieces still present - he had an adult flea on him (thankfully I was able to catch it) - hind legs + tail were not trimmed - I brought personal shampoos, they could not confirm if they were used. He does not smell like any of the products I use for him - his behind was not properly cleaned - package includes a bandana, did not receive one The whole purpose of the review is to communicate that the service paid for was not delivered. The lack is accountability and rebuttals to excuse the mishaps is disheartening and disappointing. In the end, I was given a full refund because all they could tell me was I either had the choice of a full refund with cut ties (I am not welcome back for business) or they "fix" what they did to my dog. How can your team fix agitated paw pads, from a cut you did? How can you fix the overly chopped fur on his paws? Am I supposed to trust that a second wash will be thoroughly completed when it wasn't done the first time? I'm very sad to leave this place, and I'm even more sad the good staff spoke to me the way they did, as if I wasn't a loyal customer to begin with. I expressed I wanted to reach a resolution, because I wanted to be a returning customer. However, they were very annoyed with me and it is clear I am not welcome. I have spoken so highly of this place to all of my fellow dog friends, and I'm sad to share this review and furthermore update my friends of all that happened. They were very kind to offer an extremely personal gesture, however when it was followed up with, "Given the circumstances, I don't think we will be doing that anymore" and that is heartbreaking. I am actually heartbroken by the whole experience. I started coming to this place because at my very first time here, I had met Jeannie who was very kind, so I thought that is a no brainer - I can trust to bring my soul dog here. After speaking with her today, it is clear I was sadly mistaken. If you're okay with a chaotic environment, and just need a cheap self wash then I would recommend this place. However, I'm not sure I would recommend them for anything else since it seems to be of a huge inconvenience for them. read more

They take my requests into consideration and the employees are very friendly. The spa package includes teeth cleaning, nail trimming, extra conditioning, bandana, and a treat bag. Booking an appointment with them is convenient through their website. The appointments have ranged between 1.5-3 hours depending on how busy it is. They usually give you a timeline and will text whenever they're ready for pick up. Parking is *typically* pretty easy depending on what time you go, however, there were a couple of times when I had to keep circling and waiting to find an open spot. Came in today and utilized the self service dog wash station - The system they use is incredibly easy with shampoo built into the nozzle - everything is kept very clean - They've got all the products you need but you can save a few bucks if you bring your own products - Cadence was an absolute gem as she was able to handle cutting some extremely long nails on a dog that wanted nothing to do with getting his nails cut. My boyfriend and I have been here to get 3 of our dog's nails trimmed once, and everyone we encountered were nice and caring towards our dogs. So, we decided to make an appointment and take our poodle here for a much needed grooming (rather than our usual place, Dirty Dogs). We just moved from Del Mar to La Jolla so this location is also a lot more convenient for us. I called last week to make an appointment for a Monday at 11am, and they also sent me a text reminder asking me to confirm. Yesterday I called and confirmed my appointment again, where they also sent me a form to fill out as well. This morning I come into my appointment about 5 minutes early to check-in. They let me know that Deanna, (I believe is her name?) would be grooming my dog today. So I wait around for a few minutes in the grooming area while they look for my appointment at the front desk, and eventually ask me to come back to the front. The groomer, I believe, gives me a strange look and says that I'm early and that my appointment is scheduled for noon. I respond, confused, saying that my text confirmation says 11am. I've attached the screenshot in my review. She was not very nice about the situation and didn't seem to even want to say sorry for the mix-up. She blamed it on some glitch in the system, and says that my appointment has always been scheduled for noon, and if I wanted, that I could leave my dog there but that she would be in a kennel for 4 HOURS. I'm sorry, what? Of course I wouldn't want that. So I politely ask her to cancel and she says "Ok, that's fine." Even if there was a glitch in the system, or your scheduler accidentally did a mishap, I still received a text confirmation and called to confirm the appointment as well-- so the least they could've done was assess the situation from a more understanding perspective. I really wanted to get my dogs regularly groomed here, given the location and seemingly good reviews. But, my own experience was not a good one and I won't be recommending this place to either of my friends or family. I will be taking my dogs back to Dirty Dogs. read more

I take my small mixed breed dog here for a bath and nail trim with the groomers about once every 6 weeks. The groomers are always very kind and seem to take great care of him. I appreciate that you make the appointment and the grooming is done right away, so he's usually only there for 30-45 minutes, unlike other places like petsmart where your dog may be in a kennel for several hours which I'm not super comfortable with. I can't speak to actual haircuts as my dog doesn't need that, but the bath is nice and they do a "blueberry facial" so he always comes home smelling really good! It can be a little hectic in the store and wash area for drop off and pick/up, but I've had good experiences with the staff so far. read more

I love this place! I always bring my dogs to Del Mar Dog Beach, and I make the drive down here because it's worth it!! The people here are so sweet and nice, answering any and all questions I had. I always do the self wash, and there is no time limit. They also give a $2 discount if you bring your own shampoo. It's $3 for the blow dryer, so everything is reasonably priced. They clean very well after shedding dogs (huskies and my german shepherd)! My dog is reactive, and everyone is kind about it by giving my dog space she needs! 10/10 would recommend for self-bathing. Their selection of dog goodies are amazing too! Lots of products and treats for all kinds of dogs. My dog doesn't need haircuts, but I see them doing haircuts in a safe and calm way!
