Yamilet was amazing servicing my angry bulldog she was very helpful and made it a breeze. My bully got his paws shaved and nail trimmed in loving care. I'm glad I could watch through the windows to give him some support while my dog is panicking haha. I called this business on a Sunday afternoon inquiring about their self-serve dog wash stations. My Australian Cattle Dog can be very skittish and doesn't do well with professional groomers, so I was hoping this would be a good alternative. From the moment I arrived, the woman working at the front desk was incredibly kind and helpful. She explained that they provide a great array of high-quality shampoos, conditioners, and treatments included in the self-service fee. The setup is excellent. The tubs are lifted quite high, which was a huge benefit that really helped save my back while bathing my dog. (You might struggle slightly getting a larger dog lifted in, but the height is worth it). The products worked well on my dog's coat, and I was impressed that the water pressure goes quite high (great for long-haired breeds) and maintained a nice warm temperature throughout the entire bath. The blow drying hoses take a minute to heat up, but they are powerful and worth the time. They also thoughtfully provide a large apron so you don't get soaked, and the entire place was noticeably very clean. The staff was friendly, and they have a lot of samples for treatments and treats for dogs. At $26, it is definitely worth the cost, and I cannot wait to go back again! read more

Rescued a puppy who was extremely fearful of crates so ended here for their no crate grooming. Ashley has been grooming my pup for about a year now and she always does a fantastic job and my dog does well with the them. Unfortunately, they just started adding a surcharge of $25 for no crate grooming; they were already about 20% higher than other groomers in the area so with the surcharge they are about same price as a mobile groomer. I'll make the switch to more convenient mobile groomer. We had an established a great relationship with Ashley but at their new pricing, I'll be switching. We've been loyal customers for about a year and a half, loved it so much I've sent multiple referrals here during that time. However as of the last two appointments they have changed our appointments each time although they are set weeks in advance. Once the day before and now almost a week before. At this point the new management has taken on tactics that simply do not align with customer service being a priority. I am now having to change my plans every time we have an appointment or clear my weekend because I don't know what antics they will pull next. I work a very demanding job with 12 hour days so weekends are the only time that works for me. As of today there's a new surcharge fee of $25. The problem isn't even the increase of the fees but the principle and lack of communication from management. Since this management change, I step into a new surprise every appointment, and I'm tired of it, dog grooming truly should not be this hard to navigate. We came here bc the groomer we used moved here but at this point we cannot move forward using her (it's been like 3 years) if it means using this place with the lack of care for customers who are paying a pretty penny. I'm just not willing to support that business. Or the sass. Beware of the manager B who only cares about maximizing profit and then whatever title this other guy V has who thinks that by being sassy and saying if "$25 is too much for you" all while lacking critical thinking skills or comprehension after being told multiple times the issue is lack of communication. It feels like they take advantage of us because they know we'd do anything for our fur babies! 0/10 would not recommend. Great place to get your dogs nails trimmed and every Tuesday is on sale for only $18. The parking is a bit challenging since it's located in "The Hub" in Hillcrest on University where the Ralph's and Trader Joe's is located, but the staff were really good with my dachshund. They were patient and gently with him. In fact, instead of putting his neck in a harness, one employee held him while the other trimmed his nails. Very thoughtful! First couple times I was at this location I was very happy. Infact the last time I was so happy I tipped Groomer rather handsomely. I have an event next week in Beverly Hills and want my dogs nails painted for a Red Carpet Event with National TV Coverage. I called ahead and spoke with Assistant Manager who ask that I call back and speak directly to groomer to schedule appointment. Today I called and reached young lady who identified herself by name but never actually identified her position. Do to Yelps policy (they do not permit names on there review platform.) Anyway I found her disposition, tone and accusations of (in my words) sleezy behavior or blaten attempts to promote under the table transactions with her staff. Maybe it was my fault in asking " what time groomer would be getting off" to ensure I didn't miss connecting with today. When I ask, her reply was odd in that she stated "I'm not comfortable telling you that" next she ask me if I was the customer who had called and spoke to her Assistant Manager about nail painting. I satiated yes I believe that was me. Immediately she went off on me. she stated that she had overheard the phone call and she was uncomfortable with my attempt to try and arrange some under the counter transaction. She followed up be stating she had spoken to Groomer and "her Assistant Manager" and had advised them she was uncomfortable with my previous call. Is it me? Is it in some manor because I'm gay and she thought I was trying to hit on her staff? I don't know. It really saddens me I found a nail trimmer that my dog trusted. Only to have this manager accuse me of sleezy behavior (again my words). I had to hang up on her to escape her treatment. Arlo did an amazing job with my blind Great Pyrenees, he is a big boy who is supper sweet but hates being indoors so his coat was in need of a good grooming and Arlo did exactly that, He was knowledgeable about his needs and sent me progress pictures through out his appointment. I absolutely loved the communication. When I got my baby back it was night and day, I was extremely happy with the results he was even able to get his declaws which he has never let any other groomer do. I took in my Aussie today for her groom with Arlo and I cannot wait for the results. I also want to add that they do not cage the dogs which I was very happy about since my big boy gets really nervous in a cage. I recently adopted a dog with a few mats behind his ears. After trying all the methods I could find on Google to remove or detangle them myself I stopped by DirtyDogs&M on a walk planning to ask for advice. I wasn't expecting them to have walk-in availability to get him dematted right then! Everyone I talked to was so friendly and gentle with him. I don't think we were even there longer than 10-15 min. They were able to shave them out safely for me and gave me tips for the regrowth. I grabbed him some treats while I waited - they have a great selection of some of his favorites (Stella & Chewy). Prices are a TINY BIT higher than online (Amazon/Chewy)- like $1? Worth it to support a neighborhood spot. This visit was so convenient. They have a loyalty program with points/coupons/sales which I'm sure makes up for the $ anyways. The quality of products they carry is great. Justina's dog walker, Antonio dropped the dog off at the facility at 8am. He instructed the dog groomer Cece to give her a that she did have a few mats in her chest area. Antonio instructed Cece that if they had any doubts, to please reach out to the owner Michelle at any given point. Justina was picked up at her home and dropped off at 8am at Dirty Dog's Hillcrest. The dog was later picked up by the dog walker Antonio around 10:20-10:26am. The second Justina was dropped off at home and I looked at Justina for the first time, my jaw completely dropped. There was no reason for Justina to be completely shaved down, down to the skin. I know that she did have two to three mats at the most in her chest area. She is normally a happy, filled with energy, hops like a sheep, beyond loves to play fetch, plays with her stuffed toys and more than enjoys bully sticks on a regular basis. The condition that she returned home was simply unexplainable. The first thing I noticed around 30 minutes having her home, was the blood that started to come out on top her head. The more I examined Justina, the more cuts, razor burns and lessions she had. Not only was Justina shaved down to the skin, but also her eyelashes and her entire facial hair fully cut. My dog has no eyelashes, up and bottom. No facial hair in her entire body. I have been in emotional distress since Friday, and so has Justina. She has not been able to play, eat or jump or be her normal self since she had that horrible and shaving job at Dirty Dogs and Meow. There was no way and no reason for Justina to come back in the condition that she did. No reason for anymore to give her that horrible kind of shave. A shave that was down to the skin was NOT Necessary AT ALL. The dog only had three mats on her chest. Dirty dogs and Meow Hillcrest has been a business I fully trusted FOR MORE THAN 5 YEARS! I have been a loyal and trustworthy customer of them. I fully trusted every single groomer that their business hired and thought that they were more than capable of treating my dog in the best kind of manner. I trusted that they were capable of doing more than a right haircut and bath. Justina is more than just any dog to me, she is my loving dog who I make sure she is a happy fur-baby. Antonio has been a loyal dog walker and also offered dog sitting/walking services whenever I go out of town. My dog has been in distress since Friday after she completed that horrible, inhumane and horrible lack of expertise job that Cece completed. The job that Cece completed was more than unacceptable. I call that job someone who has absolute no experience at all, and someone who truly did not care AT ALL. The more time passes by, the more physical damages are noticed. This morning I noticed glue on her ear. Glue on a dog's ear? How in the world?!!!! No one notified me, the dog groomer when I reached out to her on Friday at 10:51am not one single apology was given. Cece the dog groomer, even gave me an attitude when I asked her why did Justina have a bunch of cuts and blood all over her body. Cece, in addition, didn't even let me talk, and kept interrupting me when I asked her why on earth was her entire face was shaved! Why had she shaved her entire eyelashes. Cece didn't even let me express anything of what I told and asked her, and then passed the phone to some other employee by the name of Amanda. Amanda then proceeded to tell me that she second that the assistant manager was present in the store, that she will be reaching out. To top it off, Justina had a bunch of skin abrasions on her muzzle, and neck and Dirty dogs and Meow decided to even cover the cuts and blood by putting a dog pink bandana on her neck. I am more than beyond upset and this experience has been nothing but a nightmare to me. I have been in constant contact with the Assistant Manager Lisa, which she decided to drop off an antiseptic spray, as if that's even sufficient or even does justice. A spray will EVER do justice to Justina and will never repair the damage that Cece and Dirty Dog and Meow business have done to her. Please don't ever do business with Dirty Dogs and Meow AT ALL. Ever since Friday after 10:20/10:30am, Justina and myself have been in an emotional distress. I have taken her to the Veterinary this morning, and will now think twice as to where my dog is ever groomed. read more

I was in SD for a little trip with my partner and mini aussie and needed to bathe our pup after kayaking and going to the dog beach. We needed to drive home to LA and didn't want a sandy dog in the backseat so we decided to bathe him before we trekked home. They set up all of the equipment for you and it even looks like a real tub compared to those metal industrial ones. I thought it was such a cute experience and the employees were really nice as well. For $22 we bathed, blow dried, brushed, and applied leave in treatment and perfume which I thought was a good price. Had my wife take out dog for haircut/grooming. They quoted her one price but called her and said it would cost more and they tacked on extra charges. How much extra can it be for a 15lb poodle. It has been a year when we came to do self wash in this location and reason behind is because our FAVORITE Denise our nail lady transferred here. She was originally in Torrey hills, boy we liked her very much. She's AWESOME, so so good of what she does. Our dog is very selective and has trust issues to people so it's very rare when we find a person that can either bathe him for a spa and most certainly a nail grind. When we discovered Denise at Torrey hills we never tried going elsewhere. We always request to have her do Dobby's nail and he's fine with it and gotten better and better. Thank you for being so patient and kind to him every time, that alone made so much difference that he can trust people. We missed you at that location and now we are coming to this location because we know you are here to take good care of him. Parking-still very challenging. Customer Service- not a lot of friendly employees here, but Denise is here to make that up. Tubs- I actually love their tub better than Torrey Hills, for a short person like me I can reach it without trouble with faucet not being so high. And their blow dry super nice. Take us less time to dry, love that! Merchandise- well stocked and they have plenty of Stella and Chewy stew, yay! Would we come back? YES, now we will because of our favorite DENISE! I come here to wash my dog every time she's due for a bath. The tubs are clean and they offer a bunch of different shampoos and conditioners. They have everything you need to get your dog dry, including a bunch of towels and a blow dryer which most places we've been to did not have. Really great first visit for the bath and dry for my dog. The two following were bad. The most recent one took a total of 15 minutes from when I dropped her off to when I received a text she was ready, and unsurprisingly, she was not clean. Very inconsistent quality and service when you ask a question, like why it took 15 minutes, is not polite. Need quality control. First time included cologne and a bandanna. Second and third time I had to remind on these things. Third time they said she had cologne on. She did not. I spend more than 15 minutes bathing her at home and I'm not a professional. Welp the short version of this story is that we took our dog for a groom and he ended up at the vet having surgery because they CUT OFF his dew claw. The long version is that Dirty dogs called and said Marley was "knicked" with the clippers and had a small cut that needed to be glued to prevent bleeding. We told her to continue with the hair cut and she said well he might need to go to the vet to be sure... so he's taken to the vet and then we are called back saying he's going to need surgery because 75% of the dew claw is detached and they need to fully remove the remaining 25% and stitch him up. The surgery cost 1100$ and the owner TEXTED us if we can cover the cost and that she will repay it back later. Accidents happen but minimizing an injury and then asking customers over text to front the bill is absolutely not acceptable. read more
