First time customer, recommended by the painter helping us with our house. The swatches were cleanly organized and it was easy to select colors. We had a little mishap in that half our order was filled with the wrong color, but I called back and they told me they would assist us right away. They were about to close for the day, and they were closed the next day but promised to contact us first thing Monday morning for pick up of the correct color. Staff kept their word and all was fixed on Monday, so we didn't have to delay our project. Mistakes happen, and I only judge a business based on resolution. The staff did a great job and we'll be back for more project supplies soon. PS - Yes, slightly costly, but the quality came out great and the color was exactly how I envisioned. read more

I'm super confused by all the reviews about helpful people at this paint store because that was not my experience today. The person working there not only would not even look at the picture of the paint color that I'm trying to match but couldn't even refer me to anyone who I would be happy to pay to come look at my house and get me close to the color so I could buy a few samples to match perfectly. When I went to the samples to try to figure it out on my own, another customer told me that if I go to Lowe's they can use my pictures to help me out. Horrible Customer Service experience today. Actually, they wouldn't even know what the term "Customer Service " meant if it slapped them across the face. Do yourself a favor & go to a different paint store that doesn't charge $60 for a gallon of paint or has crappy employees & management. Arrived for a few gallons of paint, the younger workers were friendly, professional, and helpful. The supposed 'managers' however were more interested in talking non-business and yelling across the room to the workers. I am so amazed with this all-star team at the Dunn-Edwards in Whittier! I was getting ready to touch up paint in our house. We had moved in 12 years ago and obviously, our paint cans were all dried up. I only had a reference of the paint can codes that I snapped photos over and sent to the store (via e-mail). Tim had reached out to me in response to my inquiry, right away....and explained everything in detail. Due to our paint on our walls being exposed to light over the course of the 12 years, he requested that I bring in some sampling of the paint color from the wall. I brought it in that morning, and he was able to match all 4 colors spot on...with the exception of the finish on one of the swatches. I had to go back and he had a different finish ready for me the same day. It was my fault....the sample that I brought in was tough to see which finish it was. From start to finish, Tim was extremely helpful (and VERY friendly, I might add!). I always dreaded going to these type of stores with paint professionals running the show. However, Tim was beyond amazing, and made this task stress free! I am definitely going to use them for future paint projects! We're working on moving to a new house, and I am going to be heading straight to Tim and the team at Dunn-Edwards in Whittier for all my paint needs...no doubt about it! What an awful and embarrassing experience. Walked into the Whittier, CA store with 3 empty gallons of paint and 1 full to recycle. Had called early morning to make sure they recycled and representative stated "yes". I put the cans on the counter and was received by store manager, with "We cant take them we are full", I explained I had called and there was no mention of limits. He rudely stated, "We will not take them". There were other customers around and needless to say, it was quite embarrassing. I have bought paint for my house previously from this location and was surprised with the rude and dismissive reception. I am sure Dunn Corporation has not approved such customer service. read more

Yesterday morning, 11/26/2018 I had gone to Dunn-Edwards Paint to exchange a quart of semi gloss interior for semi gloss exterior, I met with Addy Rivera, and she made the exchange for me, I also explained a problem I was having painting my fascia on my house, and she recommended a product to me and explained why I was experiencing the problem and that the Kilz Aerosol spray can would be the right product. I walked in 3-4 times asking a lot of questions about primer, sealer and different sheens on purchasing paint. Alex at the Whittier location helped me every time. Let me start by saying Tim Albios was the biggest help when it came to any questions my husband and I had. Not only was he professional and helpful he was genuinely a nice person who wanted to help us when it came to working on our new home. Dunn Edwards has a great product and color spectrum however if you are just a homeowner this is not the place to go unless you can afford 50$ per gallon of paint. I came here last month and it cost me $ 33 dollars today it was 48$. ???? First question they ask you at checkout is "do you have an account?" Obviously this is a commercial based business and the average homeowner or diy'er gets hosed if you don't buy consistently or in bulk. Love the product but not the business practice. Poor lady next to me wanted a quart but they talked her into a gallon saying it wouldn't cover the small square footage she needed. They never mentioned to her that she can thin the paint a little to get additional square footage. Nope just pay the 50 for a gallon and have a ton left over. Didn't sell her what she wanted sold her what they wanted to sell her. read more

Don't come here without a contractor's discount. Prices are SUBSTANTIALLY (maybe twice as much?) higher if you don't go in with your contractor's account information. There are other ways to get the discounted prices, but, in my opinion, paying an outrageous full price is simply not fair. Given the way I was treated during my last visit to this store, it looked as if they were after my every penny (instead of trying to be competitive with their pricing). Also, be prepared to wait. I have been in this store in at least five different occasions and most of the time their system is down or slow. Even if there are only three customers inside the store, the cashiers or assistants take their while (while also multitasking) to complete each order. I have been a loyal customer of Dunn Edwards for over five years. I have used this paint to completely redo my old house and have used it now while working on my new house. I have spent over a thousand dollars in paint from this particular store, and in return, last time I went back, I was insulted. I presented my contractor's phone number and also presented a copy of a receipt with the account number I have used before. Being a loyal Dunn Edwards customer. I am aware of the difference between contractor prices and regular prices. So I then asked to be given the best discount available. An Assistant Manager, Mr. Lawrence Gomez responded by telling me that he was going to (as if warning me) call the number I gave him to make sure I had authorization to use this information. There was at least one other person, a gentleman giving a contractor's account number to whom Mr. Gomez did not make the same remarks. As a result, I felt that he was assuming that I was lying or cheating. In the middle of it all, Mr. Gomez took a phone call and he unapologetically interrupted me to prioritize this other conversation. I received no apology for my wait for the call interruption, the system being "slow", or the line. I was about to buy close to thirty gallons of paint. But seeing that Mr. Gomez was not being appreciative of my business instead was providing terrible customer service; while feeling disrespected, I advised him that I would report my experience through a review. I asked him for his name, and again, to add insult to injury (perhaps assuming I was not an honest person) Mr. Gomez told me to be honest in my review. Mr. Gomez apparently forgot that it is through his customers that his paycheck gets paid. Due to this awful experience I preferred to walk out the door, give up their free delivery service and talk to my contractor so he can make arrangements to pick up the paint from another provider. read more
