Sometimes it's nice to skip the big box stores and support a true neighborhood hardware store. I stopped in to grab a few items and, as always, found myself spending extra time checking out their incredible BBQ selection. If you're into grilling or smoking, this place is a hidden gem. They have an impressive assortment of BBQ rubs, sauces, accessories, and a great selection of Traeger pellets. It's easy to get lost browsing all the options. Of course, it's still a fully stocked hardware store, so you'll find everything you'd expect for your home improvement and repair projects too. What really keeps me coming back is the atmosphere. It reminds me of the neighborhood hardware stores I grew up with. The staff genuinely welcomes you when you walk in, they're knowledgeable, happy to answer questions, and offer advice you can actually trust. On top of that, their prices are very competitive. Bought a weber 22" original black grill for father's day only to find out I was charged extra $140. I visited my father this week and found out its not even the correct model. I called the store and they mentioned they'll "relay" the message to their district manager. Store refused to provide an email so I can attach the pictures so here's the receipt and pictures. Amazing store!!!! We needed a piece of copper pipe to fix our water pressure valve. Drove from Eastvale with my dad, because this was the closest store we could find that had what we needed (we needed a 10 inch section of 1 1/4 inch). The customer service was top notch. Ordered a Weber BBQ grill as a Christmas present for my wife on 12/18 since the website said it will delivered by 12/21. The 21st came, got a call from one of the employees that the package was delayed and he ensured me that it will be delivered before Christmas on the 23rd. What do ya know, 23rd comes and they say that package has still not come in and that it's in some facility in Anaheim. At this point, I've lost all faith that they can keep their delivery date. Asked if they can go to the facility to pick it up, no they can't do that for some reason. Ridiculous. Tried speaking to the manager to see if there was any sort of compensation or gift card they can offer. Nope, they couldn't offer anything but a sorry. For a quick stop to get duplicate keys, some BBQ supplies or hardware, Cannings is a MUCH BETTER alternative to Lowes or Home Depot. The prices are similar and the guys working here give good advice. Their sale items are reasonably priced and there's often a good or better selection than other stores. I'm a Yeti guy. I have a 110, cooler locks, a rambler and my kids have the kids ramblers. I was blown away with their in stock choices of Yeti products. Likewise with Blackstone griddle accessories. And Weber barbecue accessories. And Mr. Heater Buddy accessories. And, well you get the picture. I like supporting the little guy and local businesses and there's just something about going into an old fashioned hardware store that makes the visit more interesting than a big box store. When it comes time for Christmas, Ace Hardware is where we get our annual Hallmark ornament. We usually go to Fullerton, but this year, we're coming here. There's just a ton of stuff in this little store!! Every nook and cranny is stuffed full of things to purchase. Tools, BBQ items, holiday, light bulbs, cleaning product, novelty gifts, I mean... wow! We've been shopping at this little gem for many, many years. I remember coming here with my dad when I was little... and I'm old! It seems pretty divey when you walk in, but the more you look the more you like! I feel like each time I've shopped at Cannings, they've got what I needed where other big box chains did not. Plus, shopping here makes me feel more like I'm supporting my local community, which that feeling can't be beat. Prices are comparable if not better than other hardware stores too. I get it big box stores have it all. But come on nothing compares to have access to someone with years of experience that can actually help your project. Cleaned a sink drain, installed a new faucet, and replaced the fittings. Well hours rebuilding everything trying to reuse the fittings. No joy leak after leak. So went in to Cannings, found like like fittings and decided to ask the question will this leak ? Sure enough he said I can see you will need a reduction washer going from 1 1/2 to 1 1/4. Took me all about 15mins to put it back together and guess what no leaks !!! Cannings has the experience to help !! read more

This review is based on the bbq section of the store. The store overall is small but very well stocked. You will definitely find a huge selection of pellets and lump charcoal. However their selection of briquettes and wood chunks & chips is severely lacking. I was happy to find one bag of 17lb B&B oak briquettes that I had never seen before so I swooped it up. I browsed the rubs section and saw they were mostly priced $10 and over. Pretty pricey compared to what I've seen them elsewhere. I'm giving this place only a three stars mostly because I'm a briquette guy. Here's hoping they expand their briquette selection soon. read more

Some employees are very friendly, however the lady in front gives you a hard time when you want assistance with anything. One time I came to make screens and she gave me attitude about making them. Another time I came for spray paint and she gave me attitude saying it was going to be a while for someone to unlock it. If you don't want to move from your seat, don't lock them up. Other then her, everyone else is pretty nice. Doesn't compare to ACE in La Puente though. They are great. read more

Canning Ace Hardware is fabulous! Our shower handle broke off tonight and I had to go in to get some parts for a repair. DJ was super friendly, knowledgeable and amazingly helpful! Not only did he take the time to take apart the broken valve I brought in but he then found me the pieces needed to complete the repair at home and allowed me to record him demonstrating how to install the new valve. I walk going down the aisle looking for garden supple, I felt a stare behind me as each aisle I was in, then I turned my head really quick I see a blonde employee standing there as she see me she pretends to fix a shelf. Then I go down look through some items that near the Yeti mug, she standing there watching me like a guard dog and having a conversation with other employee as she is looking in my direction. This was our Ace hardware store to go to. Not anymore. Maybe I should have looked at their 3.6 rating. I ordered four nozzles online for in-store pickup. the order was $116.00. The order went through and Ace Channing Hardware acknowledged they received my order. Then my order was canceled because their online ordering process is not linked to their inventory and they only had two not four. What a terrible system and the wrong way to do business.
