We moved from the SF Bay Area to La Quinta and quickly discovered we needed some blinds STAT. Our house has direct sun and it was a necessity. We thought about getting plantation shutters, but then we thought, why not electronic blinds? Of course I checked YELP and I found Dunn Right Blinds and read all of their amazing reviews. My Husband called them and they literally came out the next day and gave us an estimate for three sliding glass doors and a window. They were very helpful while we looked at the colors and options available. We ordered electronic blinds, 2 of them have blackout shades. Their factory is nearby so they have easy access making the delivery experience quicker. Installation was done within an hour. Later on, we decided we needed another shade for our front door. Shane came over and the service was quick and the blind also looks fantastic. Shane and his whole team are on top of their game and I cannot recommend them enough! My partner and I recently purchased a home in Palm Springs and among the many things we needed to prioritize for purchasing, were window treatments. We didn't feel comfortable buying furniture or tv's until we had the privacy of some form of window covering. At the recommendation of a realtor in Palm Springs, we were told to call Ivan's Blinds (as they were to be the best). I called them first and someone agreed to come out and give us an estimate. Our home has corner windows that meet and the first thing the rep told us was that due to this design we could not have cellular shades. We were told that only plantation shutters would work. We were disappointed to hear this, as we thought shutters may not be the right look for this little house and that cellular shades would be perfect. We were even more disappointed when the almost $10k quote came back to us. I had to get another quote and not just accept this price, however I had already accepted the fact that due to our corner windows, shades were out, as there is no way to do the corners, where they would touch. Made sense to me after explained. I went on yelp and saw DUNN RIGHT BLINDS, I called the number and spoke with Shane and asked if he could come out and give us a quote on shutters. Shane was very friendly and scheduled a visit to give us a quote. Once here, I told him that we have corner windows and need shutters, he said, yes thats fine and he was happy to give us a quote but he also asked if we considered cellular shades?? I laughed and told him that I was told that it wasn't an option. He said of course it is and he highly recommended the Hunter Douglas line that they work with and suggested, due to the great view we have from certain windows, the Top-Down/Bottom-Up TrackGlide in the Duette Honeycomb shades. This guy really sounded like he knew what he was talking about. Shane then showed us pictures of some of his previous work on homes with corner windows. We were thrilled!!! We could not only have cellular shades but we could be able to arrange them in any setting any time of the day to block the sunlight or not (from top or bottom/or both)!!! We asked Shane what the next step would be, as we now were at the point of wanting them up yesterday. He said he would come back out with the Hunter Douglas book to show us colors and then his wife would be able to send us a quote. He came back out the following weekend, when we were back in Palm Springs and we chose our color. Two days later, his sweet wife, Lisa, sent us a quote and it was less than the original plantation shutter option. We were thrilled and decided to go for it. We placed the order with Lisa and Shane called with an ETA for delivery. It only took a week for shipment and Shane already had us on his calendar for the following morning for the install. WE can not speak highly enough about the expertise that Shane and Lisa shared with us. WE HIGHLY recommend you give them a call if you are in the market to add window treatments. We also highly recommend the Hunter Douglas Duette Honeycomb shades!!! I would give 10 stars if I could. Dunn Right Blinds is the REAL DEAL in the desert!!! I purchased blinds about 20 years ago and the hardware that supports the valance was brittle and falling apart. I tried to reach out to the company we bought them from to see about getting replacements. I could not find any brick-and-mortar stores to ask about it. I called their phone number, and they said there was nothing they could do about it. They said all those parts are obsolete. I looked up blinds near me and found Dun Rite. I took one of the brackets in and asked if there was any way to get replacements. He said he could find something that would work. He went back to his shop and came back shortly with four brackets and wished me a good day. I was thrilled to have been able to find the parts and it made my day. To have it be free was icing on the cake. it is rare to find a business with this kind of customer service but makes all the difference. If you value customer service, give them a try. read more

This is an update to my initial reviews... I was initially disappointed when 2 days passed and I did not receive a callback for an appointment. I expressed that on Yelp. Then the business responded on Yelp suggesting they didn't have a voicemail from me thereby pretty much labeling me a liar of which I responded in kind. I received an apology later that day as in fact they had, intimating my call went to a field cellphone, received my voicemail. However, that response was not posted on Yelp which was still branding me a liar thereby compelling me to update my initial review to set the record straight. Well I am delighted to say Michael Dunn called me yesterday evening with a very sincere apology. He offered to come out the next day and provide his services. Every once in awhile you encounter craftspeople who take great pride in their work and are as concerned as you are about excellence. Dunn Right Blinds, owner Shane Dunn, and Shane's son and assistant are among those craftspeople. We met a vendor at their place of business and had a well-known local company come to our house to discuss replacing the window shades in our dining and living room. In the first case, we subsequently discovered negative on line reviews that gave us concern. In the second case, the company sent out a person who was clearly in a hurry (it was a few days before Christmas) who actually incorrectly measured one of our windows which, had we chosen that company, would have meant a huge hassle. Our next meeting was in our home with Shane and his son. They took great care discussing alternatives and how they would approach the job, as well as spending time with us on choosing the right shades. Our order was delayed due to product production issues, not unusual right now. Shane was always available by telephone for updates...he always, and I mean always, answers his phone. Shortly after our shades arrived, they were installed by Shane and his son. Not surprisingly, they did an excellent job and our shades look terrific. I had spent days trying to find a repair person, but with no luck. Most calls left weren't even returned, but then we found Shane Dunn on Yelp! The reviews he'd received convinced us to try him. He was at our house within one or two days and made the repair on the vertical room divider on the spot. In addition, we then asked him to look at a vertical blinds/drapery combination that was only minimally working. He had it repaired within minutes! A year ago one of the bigger companies had looked at the same unit and said it could be fixed, but the two men they sent out to fix it said it couldn't be repaired, that the broken part was no longer available. As we recall, they charged us about $200 for a service call. Replacement of the entire unit was recommended, but we declined. We're so glad we found Shane! read more

We have motorized blinds from 3-day Blinds. One of the blinds failed to work. 3-day blinds said it was the motor and after almost 6 months of trying to replace the motor through 3-Day, we called Dunn Right. Not only did they come out immediately, it was discovered that it wasn't the motor after all. Just some settings. Can't recommend Dunn Right Blinds enough. Will absolute them again. read more
