Had previous very good experience with Darren, and ordered new blinds from him in November 2025. Gave him 50% deposit. Since then, despite multiple calls to business phone and text to his private mobile number, we have not gotten any responses (except one in early January when he claimed family and business hard times.) Have now read many similar claims since late 2025 from his customers on Yelp. Darren has apparently skipped out on his customers. We have already contacted Hunter Douglas (manufacturer of our ordered blinds), and they have not reached him. read more

Purchased a power Blind from the Shutter Guys in 2019. It was for a skylight and he said multiple times just call and leave a message and he would come and change the batteries out. Well that was not true. Left multiple messages through the past years and never heard a peep. Now the blind is falling apart. Cannot get a hold of anyone. On my receipt there are no model numbers nor on the unit itself and cannot get a hold of the shutter guys. For any assistance. Blind cost $800 and 2019. I don't know how much it'll be to replace it now but would never recommend this company no customer service no Stay clear. read more

Darren, On July 16, 2025, I paid you half of our signed contract for my shutters and drapes with the balance due upon completion of both. It's now December 10, 5 months later and you have not answered 13 voicemails re: the drapes. I've driven to your workplace twice during your normal business hours. The lights were on, your trucks were there , but the doors were locked. You said you had a "family medical emergency " , but in the same breath you said , and these were your words, "100%, 100%, 100%, I will be at your house on Friday, November 21." You NEVER SHOWED UP that Friday nor returned my calls. YOU TOOK MY MONEY, PROMISED ME YOU'D BE HERE, AND WHAT REALLY HAPPENED WAS YOU TOOK MY MONEY AND NEVER DELIVERED MY DRAPES! I would like $1500.00 returned to me which is the amount we feel was the deposit on the drapes. I referred you to my friend because she too needed window treatments. We purchased both shutters and shades from Darrin at the Shutter Guys. The products look great. As we purchased these items Darrin made it a point to tell us that if we had any issues with them, he or his associate would come right out and take care of it. We recently had issues with both a shade and some shutters. We called Darrin and he said he was extremely busy and he would call us back within the week. Darrin never called us back. Over the next couple of weeks, we called and texted repeatedly, to no avail. Needless to say, when we purchase shutters for our living room, it will not be with the Shutter Guys. read more

Wow! These guys are great! Other contractors with whom we consulted never even mentioned the amount of window opening and light that would be lost with certain types and styles of shutters...but Darren did. He explained in detail about the different styles, and pros and cons of each. He took the TIME to make sure we understood and could choose wisely. Who still does that these days? Their prices were competitive (um, the lowest bid!) but the quality was excellent. Delivery day was right on schedule, and the installers were on time. Installation was FAST! And the end product is beautiful. What a difference, and what a sound investment, the shutters are. Darren is the owner and his whole team took great care of us. We had a lot of windows and they took care of our motorized and simple non motorized blinds in our Palm Desert house. The shutter guys are AMAZING. I only wish other merchants were as perfect and helpful as they are! I have had a couple of issues with my Hunter Douglas battery motorized Silhouette Shades, which are 7 years old. On both occasions, not only were they helpful and friendly, they took the time to insure that everything was working before I left their store. Because the shades were the first generation of motorized Silhouettes there have been subsequent new generations of this product. Not only were the "GUYS" knowledgable, but they were able to repair them IMMEDIATELY. I was prepared to leave the shade and for it to take weeks to get the replacement motor if they could locate one, but they found one in their stockroom and were are able to replace it on the spot.
