We have been coming here for a while for coaching, open gyms, and summer flex pass. I have mixed feelings about this place. Let's start with the good... There are a couple coaches here that my daughter likes. Also, there is a good amount of programming so you can find something that fits your schedule and interests. The summer flex program is good - you can drop in during windows of time so it fits your flexible summer schedule, and they give out snow cones to the kids. Open gyms every Friday are crowded and crazy, but my kids like it. OK, now the not-so-good... Yes, what another reviewer said about water is true. There is no water available unless you pay for bottled water. If your child has a long day there, you need to bring multiple bottles filled for him or her. One day we got some water out of the sink because it was a hot day and my daughter ran out of water quick, and it was eggy and disgusting - undrinkable. So -- your only options are to bring your own or pay. Buy a very large bottle and fill it up to the top, and stash a few singles in your kids' bag in case they forget their water. The facility is quite worn. I try my best to avoid using the restrooms. The front door doesn't close properly so when you are in the waiting area in the winter, it is cold. The waiting area has very uncomfortable chairs, but there are tables. The cubby area where the kids place their belongings gets cluttered and filled up quick. Everything is just... not clean. The gym is very stuffy in the summer. They do their best to open the windows and turn on fans, but on hot days it can be uncomfortable for everyone. Parking during busy times fills up quick and you have to park behind the building in an unlit area. The coaches have become a bit more snarky over time. I get having tough love for the kids, but no more smiles for me, and toward the end of class they will be cleaning around me as I am trying to work on my computer, vacuuming under my feet, making me feel unwelcome. A few years ago, it was overall a more friendly welcoming place to be. After each class, my daughter reports feeling uncomfortable about the kids. They kids are swearing, calling the coaches names behind their backs, and goofing off. And my kid is not an angel, as once I learned she brought her phone into a class and her and her friend were taking videos and pictures in class (how does this happen? She is old enough to drop off, so I was not there). I know this is not the facility's fault, but I feel like a few years ago, the kids were more eager to earn the respect and please the coaches. I don't get that feeling anymore. This may only be the nights we are there, but from my experience it is happening now consistently where it didn't happen at all before. If you are considering this gym, I would suggest researching several gyms in the area to compare. We have attended another gym in the area that I like much better, so we will probably switch. It is not all bad, and there may be certain classes or programs that are better than others. read more

I really liked this gym. No drama. Just gymnastics. Which is how it should be -- but it isn't at most places. My daughter enjoyed her time here before we had to make the move out of state. She attended numerous clinics to keep it interesting and enjoyed the summer flex hours! Guy was always welcoming to old and new students. The other coaches were kind to my child (one even gave her the cute nickname of Bonks). She looked forward to all her lessons. She did a private stunting clinic for cheer here as well and loved it! My daughter has gone to several birthday parties and I signed her up for a summer camp at my daughters request.. However, after the camp experience I will never sign my daughter up for any classes at this company. 1). I don't know how they get away with not having a drinking fountain AND THEN CHARGE THE STUDENTS $1 FOR A BOTTLE OF WATER. My daughter brought her personal, refillable water bottle to camp. She drank it all and needed more. They do not have a water fountain. They would not allow her to fill the bottle at a sink. They told her to buy a water bottle for $1. The next day she brought two water bottles from home. THIS PRACTICE IS TERRIBLE AND THE MAIN REASON I WILL NEVER SUPPORT THIS GYM. Also, afterwards, while waiting to pick her up from a birthday party, there was a new family in the waiting area and their son was getting evaluated by a coach. He was thirsty and the coach gave him a bottle of water. The woman who was talking to the mom and dad told them "water is $1". The mom said that they had water in the car had they been told there was a charge. 2) Camp was basic games. My 9 year old daughter did not advance in her tumbling or gymnastic skills at all after the camp experience. 3) the camp instructor kept telling the campers they would be able to go on the "flying machine" all week. Friday after the last camp I picked up my daughter and you guessed it- the instructor lied. They never got to go on the flying machine. This also happened during birthday parties. The guests were told they could go on the flying machine during the party and never got a chance. I'm just disgusted with this company's deceit. I would not recommend it at all. read more

This place is Awesome! My daughter has been coming here for a few years now and she just loves it. She is on their tumbling team now and is thriving. Since she has been on the team she went from doing 1 handspring to 6 and a back tuck in one year. The staff is great with the kids with positive reinforcement and high fives. They get to ring this huge bell every time they accomplish a new skill. The owner and his wife are very hands on and are truly invested into their business. read more

Just want to let you know how much we appreciate the owner, Guy, for allowing my daughter to train at his gym while we were here for the month. He went out of his way to contact me and also work with my daughter to make sure she was placed in the right team. He gave her lots of options to get in as many practices as she desired. Very family friendly environment! The athletes and coaches were very kind to her and made her feel welcome! Thank you Dupage Cheer! We will be back next summer. read more

I strongly DO NOT recommend this gym. The owner is bizarre as can be -- we have so many problems with him I cant even list them all. The coaches were really nice and our child did quite well--however she was very uncomfortable around the owner. The facility is old and run down also. read more

They deserve no stars. While they seemed great at first recently this place has become the worst gym ever. Not only have girls left the gym in tears but the coaches have been known to talk trash about girls to the other girls on the team. This place is so unprofessional it should be called a high school instead of a place of business. The owner is aggressive and ruthless to the girls and there families making it a horrible environment for any child or young adult. Do not for any reason bring any kid to this gym. While they may be a good team the gym itself is horrible due to the owners bad attitude leaving to many walk outs in the last few weeks, and leading to many more to come. read more

I love the coaches here. Especially Coach Guy and Coach Lisa. They are amazing with kids of ages . I have been having kids parties here for years . As well as sending kids to summer camps . If anyone is looking for a friendly staff who really gives your kids their one on one needs for their level. I would highly recommend Going here! read more

All of my girls have tumbled at DCA and two of them still do! We started with the Little Tumblers class which was just what I was looking for! My children enjoy coming here, they get a good workout in a positive environment and the coaches have never been pushy or negative. They always make me feel like they truly care about my kids' safety and happiness. Coach Guy, the owner, in particular has always made a point to get to know the kids and their families. read more

No one ever wants to write a bad review but sometimes the truth needs to be told so that others don't have the same experience. My daughter was on the tumbling team and the coaches she trained with there were so professional and good at their jobs and she excelled tremendously. The owner/coach sent me constant flattering flirty remarks then suddenly said he'd call the cops if I showed up. The owner/coach would religiously persecute my daughter. He would belittle her in front of her team mates because she didn't attend the same church he did, or go to religious ed classes, crosses were put up at the gym and she was told she would probably go to hell for not believing the same things he did. Every few months complaints were lodged against my daughter by the owner/coach that she was rude or said something mean to another child. When we asked to have a sit down with our daughter and the accuser and all parents the reply was always no, its not necessary. Then, in the subsequent weeks multiple texts would be sent that claimed how amazing she was, and what a pleasure it was to have her at the gym and on the team. This type of verbal, psychological abuse went on for at least a year and became progressively worse. The owner/coach installed cameras at the gym, everywhere telling my daughter he now would have proof if she was bad- proof that was never shown to us parents. He claimed that every parent wrote a written affidavit that our daughter was the biggest bully in the gym, and that all kids were afraid of her. Never happened. He stated and I quote " if she were a boy she would be the kind of kid that would bring a gun to school. These words spoken about a child, any child, let alone one that is a straight A student and was one of the top athletes in the gym bringing national honors to the gym. Other parents have reached out to us stating they had similar treatment to their children. The issue is there are no other tumbling gyms near by so this owner/coach thinks him and his wife can act anyway they please. read more
