They fulfilled my Groupon even though it was expired. The Groupon included batting coins, which I am unable to use at this time due to my recent stroke. They kindly allowed me to hold onto them for future use or to give to someone else. Customer service is always friendly. If you're in the mood for mini golf, Wilderness Falls has a varied 18-hole course for you to tackle. I went here with a Groupon (for four people) making it a deal. Staff are friendly and you can pick your ball color. The terrain and variety and difficulty of each hole was fun. Lots of walking up, down, around, and yes, there's an actual waterfall here. Wilderness Falls also happens to have batting cages for softball and regular baseball. It uses a coin system so you'll need to get that at the front desk. A friend and I are basically connoisseurs of putt-putt. Lost Mountain, Novelty Golf, Enchanted Castle: give me a dwarf-sized putter and I will kick your ass. So it was time for us to visit Wilderness Falls. I got excited when we got out of the car and followed paw prints pressed into the cement up to the office and game room. (Indeed, we later saw their perpetrator, a big brown bear, bathing in one of the ponds). There are two courses, one of which takes you over the "mountain" and another that goes around it. I have to say that they aren't super hard except for many places where your ball can easily fly off track and into various water features (full of gross water, if you are planning to retrieve it. My intrepid companion actually went wading in to rescue one...just get another from the clubhouse!) These were not features like at Lost Mountain where your ball takes a flume ride on purpose to reach another level. Also, as the night wore on and we curved around the north side of the Eagle course in the dark, there were several holes with pretty much no light! My friend literally had to whip out his flashlight app on his cellphone so we could play through. C'mon, guys. On a warm summer night it was mobbed, and parents with crowds of kids weren't doing a great job at abiding by the six-stroke rule. Still, it was a nice night to enjoy the breeze, look at the waterfalls, and bounce on the rope bridge. The clubhouse has a handful of vintage video games if you're inclined, and there are also batting cages on the premises. The young people staffing the place were friendly and efficient. The bathroom was surprisingly well equipped and perfectly clean. Overall I'd say I prefer Lost Mountain for "adventure golf" in this area, but if you want to shake it up you can always grab your clubs and take a walk on the Wild side. read more

We went on a Saturday it was quite busy, they had a birthday party going on. We did the miniature golfing with the kids. They also have a small shop inside that sells candy, soda, and energy drinks!! We bought some tokens for the batting cages outside. We had to wait a bit to access the bats and helmets since it was crowded all the cages where being used. We didn't experience any problems, just wish it wasn't as crowded.. will definitely give them a try during the week. read more

Cons: the course is not maintenanced, and neither is the water system. Balls often get stuck in the actual tubes. Great place! My husband has taken my kids here for mini golf in the past and they have enjoyed it so we decided to have our sons 7th bday party there yesterday and it was a HIT!!! Disclaimer: I am a mini-golf champion, and I hold putt putt courses to a higher standard than would most. I expect well-designed and well-built holes, interesting course variety, suitable difficulty, properly-maintained landscaping, and reasonable value. Call me a stickler, but if you want my return business (and recommendations to friends and family), ya gotta meet at least half of those. For an $11 for two Groupon, this place, like the 3-star rating says, is "A-OK." While not atrocious, it's far from the best and could in fact use a bit of TLC. There's 2 courses to choose from, but if you're sneaky enough you can play both, as the 18th hole doesn't "take" your ball automatically as many other putt putt places do. I played the Eagle course, and aside from a few dynamic holes, it was pretty boring. The majority of the holes were uninspired and far too easy. The 'adventure' aspect was seriously lacking in most cases; a slight dogleg left on flat terrain doesn't make for a particularly exciting/challenging experience. There was one, however, that started at the top of their artificial mountain and came down the side as part of a multi-tiered "choose your own path" hole. That was fun. Course was lit well enough for the most part. There was no sidewalk alongside the course, so you have to tromp on/across/through the hole itself to get to the next tee, which seems odd. There were also a few instances where the border/blockade around the greens was unfinished/broken, so naturally that's where the balls would escape and go bouncing away. I think I was spoiled growing up with 'Lost Mountain' close by, so perhaps I'm biased towards what really is a superior 'adventure' mini-golfing experience. Wilderness Falls was a fun little 36-hole course, and I'm sure that nearly anyone that visits will enjoy their time. I just prefer my putt-putt to be a little more on the daring/creative side. read more

What a great hidden gem. I went here once when I was a kid and my wife and I just took our kids here for a Father's Day event! The price was a little pricy but what isn't now a days! The courses are not too difficult and they are perfect for kids. Our whole family got holes in one and we had a blast. They even had a little something special for the fathers! A free ice cream from the snack shop. The only reason that it doesn't deserve 5 stars is because some of the water hazards were not filled up and some people didn't seem to care about having a huge group. And as we walked in one of the workers rudely stated they close at 9 and we said "so sorry girl" and the worker turns and under her breathe says "don't so sorry girl me bitch". We were in SHOCK. Genuinely so sorry for going in during closing but due to the website saying otherwise, the doors being unlocked and not stating hours we had no clue. I don't believe we deserved cussing from a WORKER for politely not knowing. I understand people have bad days but an employee does NOT show it like that. I love this place but wtf??! We went on a Friday night around 8:00 p.m., it wasn't really warm out and this place wasn't too busy. Both courses are more or less the same, but I liked having a choice. A hidden little treasure. Tonight we had a little double date with my best friend and her husband and of course me and my bubby. Monday nights are hard to find something to do and the boys definitily wouldn't agree to go see the new Twilight (believe me, I tried to convince them). After sitting in the sun and grabbing a bite it started to get pretty late. I did a quick search for mini golf places around the area and Wilderness Falls popped up. So we took the quick trip to Bolingbrook off of Weber road and found the cute lil joint. A good mini golf place is hard to find because it seems like most places are just rinky dink cheapo places. We pulled up and saw a mountain with a waterfall, yay! The course was well taken care of and the place was nice! The only downfall to any of the holes is the possibility of your ball falling in the water and having to go get it.. but that usually ends up being part of the fun! It was about 8 bucks a person and for an additional 2 bucks you can place a second 18-hole course. The theme is the Bear course and Eagle course and they have cute lil decor along the way. There is also batting cages and a small arcade and snack shop. I was pretty impressed with the place and had a lot of fun, even if I got 3rd place!! BOO! I like winning :) If you're out in the area, check it out. It's right next to the airport and has late hours in the summer (open til 11pm). read more

We have a Leadership Outing every quarter or so and are always trying to find something different to do and this time it happened to be at Wilderness Falls. Mother nature somewhat cooperated with no rain, but humid weather. The miniature golf course at Wilderness was fun and unique. (I lost 2 balls, yeah never said I'm good at golfing.) The staff were polite and helpful and I tried the batting cage for the first time! I didn't do too well, but I at least I tried it. Their mini arcade had maybe 8 games and only about 4 worked. Batting cages are a surefire way for me to ease aggression. After a bad day at work, there is nothing more stress relieving than to smack the crap out of a baseball that you are picturing as your anoying-as-hell coworker! The crack of the bat, whoosh! I am glad to have this opportunity so close to home. The place itself is located behind the Lowe's and in front of the small airport, so it's a bit tricky to find. Fine by me, since it's usually not all that crowded, especially on a weeknight. Besides the batting cages, they have a well kept and mildly challenging mini-golf course. The only part I don't like is the amount of goofy water traps, where you wind up having to chase your ball down a waterfall and hope you make it to the bottom before it gets sucked in the drains, and you have to trudge back to the building to get another one. Prices for both mini-golf and the batting cages are very reasonable. Inside, they have a small arcade selection, a tiny party area, and a snack shop which sells hot dogs and ice cream. It's just a nice place to kill some time and enjoy being a kid again. read more

My family was very pleased with Wilderness Falls! Yelp reviews were definitely a nudge in the right direction, there were so many positive posts. My overall assessment is that it was just enough to provide a platform for a fantastic outing. It's not so big that you're 5 miles from your car by the time you've reached the 18th hole, yet not so small that you're left wondering, "seriously, is this it? I would have had more fun and burned less gas, studying my inner eyelids in my cryogenic chamber!". After miniature golfing. We hit the little arcade, and the batting cages to wrap it up. The staff is attentive, grounds are well kept and there's even a little concession stand which had a great selection that we would have definitely sampled, had we not indulged just prior to our visit. This is one of the nicer mini golf courses in the area but it could be better. How? Spruce up the plants and flowers. Add some mulch and some paint here and there and I would give a five stars and likely visit more than once a year.
