The grounds are beautifully kept, and the walking trails are lovely. The staff here is very caring and first rate. They really took time to keep us updated on progress and did so much to help our family. Even the chaplain took time to visit my dad regularly. We were able to attend one of the Sunday non-denominational church services, and the music and message were punctuated by the breath-taking chapel and stained glass window. My father's only complaint was the food, but he was on a very restricted diet. It certainly smelled great in the halls during meal times. I highly recommend this place.

They clean one corridor after another and when all 4 wings are done, they start all over. The staff is wonderful- warm, friendly, caring, skilled, kind and dedicated. Even staff who was not assigned to my brother that day would stop in to say hello or share a joke or talk about sports. Some even stopped by on their days off to check in on my brother. I would say that for many of them, this is not just a job, but a calling. The care they gave was gentle, compassionate, patient, tender, respectful. They work hard to preserve their patients' dignity. My brother knew he was loved, not only by our family, but also by his Wynscape family. I was impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of everyone on the staff. They regularly stopped what they were doing to provide help and assistance. The rehab staff is also excellent - encouraging, professional, attentive. The food is very good and the staff went out of their way to make sure my brother ate. The staff not only attended to the needs of my brother but were also very attentive and responsive to our family. From entering the facility to the time one leaves, the warmth and caring provided are evident. If I ever need skilled or long term care, this is the place I would choose. I engaged this firm to provide companionship seven days a week, 4-7 hours per day, for my elderly…read moreaunt who resided in a nursing home in Wheaton, IL. She had advanced Alzheimer's but she was still a sweetheart and could engage in meaningful conversation. She seemed to benefit from consistent companionship, which is why I hired caregivers. She ate better when there was someone there to sit with her for 1 or 2 meals per day, watch TV with her, wheel her around the facility in her wheelchair, play games or do simple jigsaw puzzles, help her read the paper, etc.. Brightstar was paid a lot of money. The primary Brightstar contact would continually agree to things which she did not deliver. For example, I explicitly and in writing asked for a basic team of 2-3 caregivers who would visit my aunt regularly. The contact agreed, yet over the first several months of service, there was a parade of different caregivers through my aunt's room. Some of them lasted only 1 visit, others lasted several visits. It was a real joke. However, I like to give people a chance and I understand how difficult this industry can be, so I tried to work with Brightstar. In hindsight, I should have left them right away. Whenever I would have a complaint, the primary contact would assure me that she would work it out, even though she rarely did. Then finally Brightstar came up with a consistent, primary caregiver. However, it turned out that she was cheating on the hours worked and had been doing so for FIVE MONTHS! I was the one who discovered the fraud. Brightstar did not maintain adequate controls in order to detect the fraud. I, as a customer, had to detect that fraud. The actions of the caregiver constituted financial abuse of the elderly, which is a crime in Illinois. However, Brightstar would not press charges against the caregiver, so the Wheaton Police Department (Officer KW) dropped the case. To their (partial) credit, Brightstar refunded my aunt's money (or at least the amount THEY calculated had been stolen from her, which I believe was low). In reviewing the records, I learned that the caregiver had been cheating on her hours reported FROM THE VERY FIRST DAY SHE SERVED MY AUNT! That comfort with lying suggests to me that she may have been cheating other clients in the past. There are some caregiver firms that are "body shops," where they parade a bunch of people through their clients' homes without fulfilling a fiduciary duty to tend to the welfare of their dependent clients. The behavior that this Brightstar franchise exhibited suggests that their business model falls into this category, unfortunately. Shortly before I discovered the fraud, I encountered the caregiver in question in my aunt's room. She was coughing and sneezing with a cold, yet she showed up at work anyway. Within a few days, my aunt came down with pneumonia and died an awful death (pneumonia is NOT the way you want to go, I was there!), drawn out over the next two weeks. My experience with this Brightstar franchise has added to my own fears of aging. How does on protect oneself from similar degradation and abuse?

I just wanted to take the time to recognize the staff at Thrive of Lisle, as they took great care of me. Shoutouts to CNA's Alan & Harrison; nurses Shirley, Mark and Gina. They are the best! Kellie from activities, Jerome and Sue are always roving the halls and engaging with residents. The positivity and enthusiasm of the staff is truly contagious, and made this long recovery journey easier for me. Therapists Susan, Ed, Keyenna and Tiffany have been helping me work towards my goal to be able to walk again and use my left arm. I love Thrive of Lisle, and the staff here. 2023 was easily the darkest time of my life. I nearly lost my life, and was not sure if I'd ever walk again, or be able to return to the career that I love. The staff at Thrive treated me like family. I can't tell you how much happiness and hope that CNA Alan, Nurse Shirley & Kellie brought into my life during this time. They are truly special people. I still come back to thrive and visit at least 4 times a year. It's rewarding for me to visit the current patients during activities time, as well as spreading positivity and encouragement. My advice & words of wisdom for incoming patients and their families: * Advocate for yourself as the patient; if you're a relative; please advocate for your loved one. * Treat the staff with love & respect (I promise it'll come back to you ten-fold, and will be a much better experience for you & the staff this way.) * You might be shy at first, but take full advantage of the activities that Kellie puts together! From craft-making to group games; it's a fun time for everyone! (Even the patient's visitors are encouraged to participate). * It doesn't matter if you're bedridden, the staff will make sure to get you out to socialize, shower, or PT. You just need to communicate your needs to them early enough in the day. * Family: PLEASE don't underestimate the power of your visits. Frequent visits will greatly help your loved one as they strive to recover. I had at least 2 family members taking turns visiting me throughout each day. *Keep in mind, you ARE allowed to sit in on your loved one's physical therapy sessions. - Just ask the therapist as a courtesy* * Stay positive & Keep on thriving! The therapy was to target both upper and lower body and I felt it was a great benefit for me. Therapist took time to answer my questions on how or why the different excersises were a benefit. I had Murium and Traci. Nurses and CNAs were all pleasant. When I was not in my room they would look for me for required medications or lab tests. They also seem to work as a team. No task is beneath anyone. The activities director Kelli has such a nice personality that even someone like me that typically does not join in was participating. Because I did not have anyone visiting me they made a point of making me not feel alone. Many of the staff were good but I had a special thanks to Noah Teddi Alfonso Sue Kelli Drew Odette and my wound care team. I was able to heal nicely by the time I was discharged thanks to their attention and care. Only issue is with the evening shift. I think they forget at times that it is bedtime for us even if it's just a work-shift for them. They would be quite loud and slam doors. Rooms are 2 people so if someone needs to be tended to in middle of the night or is hard of hearing that's a problem too.

Second important good sign is excellent entertainment ("social enrichment ") like guest college professor lectures from College of DuPage, music performances, craft classes and such. Nice auditorium with good AV and qualified tech swrvices. Dining facilities are good. The care level seems more than adequate and unlike other places like this they don't seem to suffer from any shortage. I think they can handle a range of function a d disability levels so it would be a good choice to move in with expectations of later levels of health decline.

Initially, dad had a difficult time acclimating to his new surroundings but the staff and management went out of their way to make him feel at home - even gifting him a small TV for his apartment. They offer shuttle service to/from doctor appointments in the area which is very helpful for those who no longer are able to drive. And even in the independent living area, they have a staff person do regular wellness checks daily. The family feels that he's well taken care of and are grateful for the help he receives. My only very small issue is that the large building only has 2 elevators. Given that he lives on the 5th floor, it can sometimes be a 15 min wait to get on the elevator.
