Initially, dad had a difficult time acclimating to his new surroundings but the staff and management went out of their way to make him feel at home - even gifting him a small TV for his apartment. They offer shuttle service to/from doctor appointments in the area which is very helpful for those who no longer are able to drive. And even in the independent living area, they have a staff person do regular wellness checks daily. The family feels that he's well taken care of and are grateful for the help he receives. My only very small issue is that the large building only has 2 elevators. Given that he lives on the 5th floor, it can sometimes be a 15 min wait to get on the elevator.

They clean one corridor after another and when all 4 wings are done, they start all over. The staff is wonderful- warm, friendly, caring, skilled, kind and dedicated. Even staff who was not assigned to my brother that day would stop in to say hello or share a joke or talk about sports. Some even stopped by on their days off to check in on my brother. I would say that for many of them, this is not just a job, but a calling. The care they gave was gentle, compassionate, patient, tender, respectful. They work hard to preserve their patients' dignity. My brother knew he was loved, not only by our family, but also by his Wynscape family. I was impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of everyone on the staff. They regularly stopped what they were doing to provide help and assistance. The rehab staff is also excellent - encouraging, professional, attentive. The food is very good and the staff went out of their way to make sure my brother ate. The staff not only attended to the needs of my brother but were also very attentive and responsive to our family. From entering the facility to the time one leaves, the warmth and caring provided are evident. If I ever need skilled or long term care, this is the place I would choose. I am so very grateful for the care they rendered to my brother in his last year.

The social worker was invaluable--guiding our family through care planning and next steps with clarity and empathy. The facility was exceptionally clean, well maintained, and well organized, and communication with our family was excellent throughout. Unfortunately, our experience was mixed. The overall atmosphere often felt depressing and unwelcoming. Getting answers from nursing staff was often frustrating, as it sometimes seemed like they did not want to be bothered or responded with an attitude. I also found some staff members to be be unfriendly and lacking in empathy. Families rely on clear communication and compassion when a loved one is in rehab, and we did not consistently experience that level of care. The physical therapy dept. was a bright spot in my mother's day, but this was after switching the physical therapist from Steve to Desiree. Desiree stood out for her compassion, kindness, and genuine concern for her patients. She treated my mother with dignity and encouragement and made a meaningful difference in her rehab experience. I am very grateful for the care and dedication she showed. I recognize that rehab facilities can be busy and understaffed, but I believe there is significant room for improvement in communication (a simple good morning when you see a family member), responsiveness, and patient-family interactions. The room was substandard; broken handle on dresser, walker with someone else's name on it, broken headboard on the bed, holes in the screen and sewer smells from the open window, etc. There was confusion about his medications, that never did get straightened out. Several staffers standing around looking at You Tuber on their phones while patients called out for help. He was only there 2 days and I am glad we moved out of there.
