No heat at 10:30 0n a Saturday night. Called DuPuis they had a tech on call, Justin, he was at my home in less than 45 minutes. DuPuis Oil installed my boiler 3 years ago. They sent a technician to clean it upon my request. The technician did not do the job correctly. 6 months later (August 12th, 2025) my house filled soot and carbon monoxide. DuPuis send a different technician who said the previous technician did not clean the boiler correctly and he showed me why he said that. He also documented it. DuPuis never billed me for the service on August 12th. On October 27th my boiler didn't start. I called DuPuis and the service manager told me that they won't support my boiler anymore unless I buy their oil. I told them I would find someone else. 3 days later, which was 80 days from the corrective service they did on August 12th, I get a bill. My first bill for this service with net 20 terms. On November 5th they send me a statement that included two months of a late fee, for a bill I didn't even have during that time. The late charges are fraudulent. They did shoddy work on my boiler and after it polluted my house and almost killed me, they want me to pay for them to re-clean and properly adjust my boiler because I wouldn't let them extort me into buying their overpriced oil. On August 12th I would have paid the bill had they presented me an invoice as per usual, but assumed they didn't because their poor work necessitated the August 12 service call. If they were going to bill me with terms of Net 20 for the work they did on August 12th, they should have billed me on August 12th, not 80 days afterwords because I refused to be extorted. For them to charge me late fees for two months I wasn't billed is criminal. They should be audited to see what other unethical business practices they employ. read more

When I spoke to John F. and Troy B. in the Sales Department this past July, 2022. I asked about Budget Payment Plans Dupuis had? They said they would get back to me! They Never Did! Recently, I called to again ask about Budget Plans and the Finance Department says they have them but, they don't advertise them!? Not True! Their website states that they offer Budget Payment Plans!! They tell me it's too late to start one now and to call back in July for next year! What a way to run a business! Update!! I sold my house last year and after inspection needed Dupuis to indicate to the potential buyers that our oil tank wasn't leaking. Dupuis sent their guy, who quickly said: "looks good, no leaks here!" But he refused to put it in writing, saying he wasn't allowed to. So that cost us a $3000 loss in the price negotiation for the sale. Right after the house sold, Dupuis came to make an oil reading as required to let the new sellers know how much oil was left in the tank. Would you believe these shameless scoundrels tried to get me to leave a packet for the new homeowners to-be advertising their service and the tank insurance policy? The bastards cost me $3k then wanted to turn around and use me as their salesman... shameless. read more

After 17 summers as a renter, we bought a beach house in Sandhill Cove, on Point Judith. The letter we received from Buckley Heating & Cooling of Wakefield was something like this: -0- Our propane tank is on the property you just bought. If it runs out, you're screwed. Your appliances will break. You'd better fill that tank -- and we're the only people who can refill it because it's our tank. Did we mention that it's our tank? -0- When I called Buckley, the guy who wrote the charming letter wasn't in the office. He didn't call back that day or the next. The woman in the office quoted a very high rate per gallon for propane. I started calling around. Dupuis had a very chill attitude. The price was the lowest I found in RI -- at least 40% lower than Buckley. They didn't require a contract. They showed up as promised, installed a new tank and left a bill. I spoke with Howie, who politely called to inquire how we wanted to handle refills. He even offered to help us research an issue we had with a stove. This is a nice company that wants to earn your respect and business, not scare you or lock you into long-term contracts. read more

I called for a service call back at 8:30 on Wednesday evening. I was promptly called back by a service tech named Christian. We connected on WhatsApp and he seamlessly walked me through checking valves and troubleshooting the furnace. Within five minutes, the problem was fixed, we had heat! I didn't have to wait up for anybody to come out! Or deal with getting anyone to be at the house after I went to work! He was patient, clear, personable and very professional. I've been a customer here for 4+ years and I continue to be pleased with the service I receive. The personnel are SO nice and accommodating. Anytime we've needed service (A/C not working, furnace cleaning, etc), I've been so happy with the quality of work and the friendliness of the employees. We are part of their budget oil delivery plan. It is a set amount taken out monthly over the year so it's not such a shocker during the winter months. We really like it. They also do COD but we prefer the automatic credit card withdrawal. They email the invoice monthly which is nice so you don't have to keep track of paper statements. read more

I have a propane wood stove to heat my house. It has not worked all winter. Dennis, with Dupuis has come out many times with new parts to try to get it working. He is totally frustrated as he has suggested time and time again that the stove needs to be replaced. His attitude is comical. He giggles at his frustration. I guess I'm the first to review this great company! I own a home in RI and my tenants called me the day before New Year's Eve to let me know they were not getting hot water. I called another company first who said I needed a new boiler and it would be $2,200. I was not prepared for such an expense, so I called Dupuis for a second opinion. They informed me they were very busy and overbooked, but they found a way to squeeze me in anyway. They cleaned the boiler, replaced the nozzle, cleaned the furnace filter (and will be back to finish furnace cleaning)...the cost; an affordable $188.00! They were fast, efficient, and there was always someone there to answer the phone and give me proper direction. (not the case with several other places I had tried). Will use Dupuis again!! read more

Worst experience I've ever had with an oil company. Dupuis Oil inspected my oil tank and said I needed a new tank, but didn't actually see any leaks. I requested a 2nd opinion. The 2nd technician thoroughly inspected the tank, visually and with an ultrasound device. He found no leaks. Then next day Dupuis, after verifying the 2nd techician's report, sent a delivery and filled the 279 gallon tank. Shortly after that, the tank sprung a leak. They had to replace the tank with a smaller tank because the large tank wouldn't fit down the cellar stairs. However, I lost $731 in oil because they couldn't pump all the oil back into the smaller tank and would NOT give me a credit, even though I had paid for the oil. I also had to call them four times in one week for a delivery, even though I was on automatic deliveries. Finally, when I called for the 4th time and told them the tank was reading "empty", they finally came the next morning. I also had to call them four times to get them to send me a bill - and they billed me by email. I also found their contract to be very complicated and confusing. This was the worst experience I've ever had with any oil company. read more

I was a Dupuis customer for 25 years. For 24 years I was very satisfied. They are among the highest priced companies in RI, but I like to stay with a company I have a good relationship with, and their service was good and the staff friendly. I was on automatic delivery, but this past winter I ran out of oil twice. I admit I was behind in my payments. I didn't know at the time, my furnace was cracked inside and was burning miuch more oil than usual. Dupuis denied that they allowed me to run out, but both times I called for oil, I had to pay by credit card before they would deliver. Both times I paid the balance in full. I also had a service plan which covered visits to my house. When I received the annual service plan bill along with a new oil bill. I made a payment that covered the service plan and a good amount of the oil bill. I assumed the service plan was paid. A few weeks (and another payment) later, I received a notice that I hadn't paid the service plan, and because a serviceman had to prime my furnace after I ran out of oil the 2nd time (while on automatic delivery) they would charge me for the service. I wrote back that I thought the service bill was paid, because most companies apply payments to the oldest bills first. I also said I was very disappointed after being a loyal customer for so long. I canceled my service with Dupuis Oil. A few days later I had a voice mail from Dupuis customer service. I expected an apology. The customer service woman said she hoped I would reconsider, and that she had checked over my record and there were extenuating circumstances which she would like to discuss so I would understand. I didn't call back. No circumstances justify treating a customer of 25 years that way. read more

They respond promptly, are professional and are always pleasant to deal with on the phone. I have been an oil delivery customer for 6 years. This summer my AC broke down the day before July 4th, and Dupuis has someone at my house within an hour and they got everything fixed (after already having another company come out twice before and charged me 3 times the cost for no improvement). Today, the day before thanksgiving, my heat wasn't working- Dupuis had someone here within 30 minutes and he fixed my heat just in time (once again!). I own a small house in Seekonk. Last year I had a lot of trouble w my oil boiler and in the spring discovered there was gas on my street. After jumping through hurdles w Columbia gas, and in a frustrated state it was time for a full house conversion.... Oil to gas (and a new AC unit). I got many quotes and chose Dupuis ENERGY as the lowest cost and having the best customer service. I have to say Jason led his team quickly, efficiently, and w ease through the transition. I was able to work from home everyday (only took a couple) without a lot of noise or any disturbance. This included taking out my old oil tank. I am very happy w their service and would recommend them 100 times over.
