It kept appearing hazy and would not clear up, no matter if I brushed it on, diluted with mineral spirits, or wiped on with a rag. I have gone into every paint store I could find in the St. Pete area big and small with this problem. Even called MinWax twice. I searched online for hours for suggested solutions. Finally, I walked into the Dyco Paints and asked manager James Brown. After I explained everything I had done, he said try using a water-based spar urethane instead of the oil-based I had been using. Well no stores in this area carry it, but I did have it delivered within a day. It solved the problem!! Now I have a very clear urethane topcoat. I cannot believe that of all the places I tried, all the websites I searched, James was the only person that could solve this problem.

It just opened in fall of 2014, is in an excellent location right in the middle of the city near city hall and is very well stocked with anything you could need for a painting project. In addition to paint and paint supplies, there are numerous books of wallpaper options SW also sells. Now, regarding the staff, unfortunately they're still coming up to speed on the product line, so I don't believe they came from another store. For example, my wife asked if there were any paint options that had some sparkle to them; we were confidently told no so we believe it. We kept browsing the store though and what do you know, there is a display for the "Faux Impressions" line of products, which, you guessed it, includes an ingredient that makes it sparkle, or as SW describes it, "Glistening flecks are revealed as your eye follows light reflecting across the surface." So they do indeed have exactly what the sales person told us they didn't. In any case, I'm sure they'll get better with time as the store had only been open for a month or so at the time of our visit.

Keith was a recent customer of mine. When his item was lost in transit, I responded promptly, apologized, and arranged for a replacement to be made. Since my products are made to order, the new item followed the normal production timeline. While the replacement was already en route, Keith requested to cancel the order. I explained that this wasn't possible at that stage and again apologized. He responded by leaving a harsh and untrue review, calling the experience a "nightmare" and claiming I was unresponsive--neither of which reflect reality. His review undoubtedly impacted my small business, and it's disheartening that someone who also owns a small business would act in such a way. Things don't always go perfectly, but we all do our best. I would never treat another business the way he treated mine, and I certainly won't support his.

Their policies are if the package is open, you can't return it so there's no way to really tell if something works unless you open it and they're pricey for stuff. Then you have I don't know if the guy runs the place or he's the manager. He can't bother you enough being helpful as one thing making everything. This place is amazing…read more I love plants but am a bit of a plant serial killer. I can't tell you how many lovely green friends I've gone through throughout the years. I try, but I fail. I really put my best effort but always tend to over love them. I found Wild Roots and immediately fell in love with the place. I spoke to the girl who immediately greeted me. Told her about my love of plants and my murderous ways and she graciously walked me through the plants she thought I'd be good with. She took her time and made sure I had a good understanding on the watering needs as well as the sun desires of these lovely things So I took my time, walked around, and found 1 plant to call my own. I could have bought an entire forest worth but I wanted to make sure I was able to take care of the one I had before I slaughtered their entire inventory. So far so good my plant is still alive. I've been listening to the advice I was given and I can't wait to go back and something else to add to my apartment to make my home feel even more green.
