We took day adventure package through them including river rafting and Silverton-Durango scenic train. From the booking to event day experience, everything is top notch. They are super friendly. Very low priced compared to other adventure tour companies. VIP package including photography and the splash jacket + shoes was just for $39 additional. Bruce , our rafting guide was incredible. Nice to converse with him during rafting. Patrick , our van driver and the photographer was awesome in his job too. Innocence of the store receptionist was impressive. Overall must recommended place. We saved $100 by opting them instead of other companies and trust me there is no compromise to quality or service.

We did the Jeep ride through La Plata valley and it was great. So beautiful!! Then we did the white water rafting. All the guides were great and very knowledgeable. I was scared to death but felt completely comfortable. Thank you so much!!

On the four hour adventure there is a chance to jump off this little cliff. Almost all the kids in the group did it. Even my 6 year old

Finding an excursion that met our parties' need was unique. Traveling with 4 kids (ages 6 to 12) and five adults (including grandma aged 61) made this adventure the best of all worlds. We booked the morning adventure and directions to site, parking, and expectations were clear. Each member of our party was inviduidually fitted for a life vest, especially our littlest. The majority of the rafting trip was mellow and mostly floating, but the few white water parts were fun. This was okay with our group because of the littles with us. The highlight of our trip was the final swimming hole and opportunity to jump off a rock. The crew was so helpful in getting all the kids safely across and able to jump into the river. It really MADE the trip. Bring a hat, water shoes, board shorts, and leave a towel in the bus if you decide to take a leap. We one cell phone with our guide in his wet pack. Our tour guide was okay, we would have enjoyed more "regional knowledge sharing" about the town/train during the floating parts to add to the trip, but it was still okay. Overall a great little company to book with. Our group enjoyed the adventure.

Awesome experience! Amazing staff...friendly, fun, and informative. Definitely will be coming back on my next Colorado trip.

The train was not operating so our plan B was rafting and a Jeep tour; the train should've been our plan B after the day we had! We did the two hour morning raft and then the twilight Jeep tour that evening. I can't imagine a better way to experience the beauty that encompasses Durango! The guides were very knowledgeable and personable. It didn't seem like the guides were working... it seemed liked they were loving every minute of what they were doing. We can't wait to come back with the extended family to share these experiences with them!!!

Most fun I have had in years!

River rafting was a great experience. Hesitant at first but that only lasted a second. Huge fun! Hit some big water and some great rapids. Our guide Jake was awesome, great personality, had some great jokes. It's a 2 hour trip with about and hour and 5 minutes on the water. Would definatly would do it again!

    The adrenaline rush!

I will admit to being VERY HESITANT about the rafting portion of our combo excursion. The Animas was flowing full of snow melt (from record snow fall) and we had never been rafting before. But we did it! Yes, it was cold. Yes, it was wet. Yes, it was complete adrenaline rushing, soaking, freezing FUN!! Scott was our guide and always made sure to keep us informed and feeling safe. Even the bus driver lady (so sorry I can't remember her name) was fun and took some amazing pics. Then Si drove us up to Silverton to meet the train. I'd done the train a couple of times when I was young, but my family never had (husband and 2 teens) and we all learned so much from Si about the landscape, river, and weather events. Made us appreciate the drive way more than we anticipated we would have. Very professional company. Attentive, patient, easy to work with, and made sure to have all of our needs covered.

We spent a week together exploring Durango and the attractions here. One of our favorite experiences was white water rafting with Mountain Waters. The staff was super communicative and helpful. We booked a moderate run with class 1-3 rapids, since we had a big range of ages (my Dad is 77 and we had a party of 10 with ages ranging down to my 10-y-o son). They advised that this would be best for our family, and they were correct. I'd love to come back and do some class 3-4 rapids now that we have had some experience. Our guide Hannah was knowledgeable and very kind. We had a great experience with the team. No complaints at all. Highly recommend.

She's super funny (dry humor, great wit and some hilarious group shots!) and very river savvy. We were safe and it was so fun!! We rafted on a day later in the season with the Animas river running about 200cfs--perfect for a group of with children, novices adults and an active senior. We didn't get stuck once and made it through some tight fits without even touching the boulders. "All Net!" we told her :) The Mountain Waters Rafting crew were awesome. Loved the lead guide's safety presentation that was peppered with some great humour. Punctual; clean gear; loved all the writing in the bus. Great place. Can't wait to book more adventures with them!

We paddled through sun, rain, and hail, all in one trip! Epic, I tell u!! Our guides, Marcus and Robby were the best! Super cool dudes who were super knowledgeable! They kept us safe and made the experience such a blast! Colorado had the lowest snowfall this past winter so the river was really low and rapids were on the slow side. Make sure to check river flow and CSF levels if u decide to book this adventure so that u're not surprised by the low flow. The river only clocked in at 620 cfs when we ran it, so we didn't have too many big rapids and drops, but it was a very technical run and such a blast to experience this ultimate and wild experience with my hubby!!

Kaia was knowledgeable, organized, accommodating, and could have shepherded us down the route completely by herself if necessary. River guiding is clearly in her blood and the generations of river guides in her family must be proud. She is equal parts expert guide and fun banterer. If you're 8 or 80 or somewhere in between like us, you'll appreciate how Kaia gets down. No disrespect to any other river guides, but if Kaia doesn't win MVP of the week, they got to scrap this system and build back from the bottom up. On the other hand, there was one guide reportedly named ZB that was a complete vibe killer. If that guy wins, they also need to revamp this whole operation. Hope he enjoys a nice Dante's Inferno from Barber and the Bookcase and rethinks his approach to River guideship.

For myself and partner to get a pick up from DUR airport to Pagosa Springs, it was $135-one way. We booked it weeks in advance in anticipation of Ubers being scarce. I knew it would be pricey but this seemed like the reliable option. The unfortunate part was two days before our flight into CO, Wilderness Journeys called to let us know there would be a surprise added fee of $15+ (each way) to get to where we were staying. I'm not sure why because it was a Pagosa Springs address--about 5 miles (6min drive) from town center, so I'm guessing they prefer to only drop off at the main hotels, though that wasn't mentioned when I booked the service. This increased our fare to $150 each way. If Wilderness Journeys has other passengers potentially going to the airport at the same time and you're willing to be picked up "up to 45min later," they offer to give you 20% off your fare. I opted for that to save some dough. Unfortunately the day before our trip to the airport, they told us we would have to be picked up earlier (not later) because they were picking up 3 more people. This meant we got to the airport much, much earlier than requested/planned. Another upsetting part is they only gave the 20% discount for part of our trip, not our full fare. It offset part of the hidden fee, I guess--but I still ended up paying nearly $300 for the RT shuttle service for 2. :( * Tip: Ubers from Durango to Pagosa are less than half the price and readily available, per the locals. In hindsight, I recommend ubering from Durango to Pagosa. I'd use that money saved I saved to booked the shuttle due to availability on the way from Pagosa to Durango, as it appears to be harder to reliably get an uber from PS to DUR. I would also not opt to save the $20 to share the shuttle.

We did a return trip back to Pagosa and the airport a week later. The booking process was pretty easy and the drivers were on time and got us to and from our destinations safely. Given the length of the drive and the fact that we were going on very rough Forest Service roads for a portion of the drive, the cost seemed reasonable (especially for 4 or more people) and I was thankful to have this option. Thanks Wilderness Journeys!
