We took day adventure package through them including river rafting and Silverton-Durango scenic train. From the booking to event day experience, everything is top notch. They are super friendly. Very low priced compared to other adventure tour companies. VIP package including photography and the splash jacket + shoes was just for $39 additional. Bruce , our rafting guide was incredible. Nice to converse with him during rafting. Patrick , our van driver and the photographer was awesome in his job too. Innocence of the store receptionist was impressive. Overall must recommended place. We saved $100 by opting them instead of other companies and trust me there is no compromise to quality or service.

We did the Jeep ride through La Plata valley and it was great. So beautiful!! Then we did the white water rafting. All the guides were great and very knowledgeable. I was scared to death but felt completely comfortable. Thank you so much!!

On the four hour adventure there is a chance to jump off this little cliff. Almost all the kids in the group did it. Even my 6 year old

Finding an excursion that met our parties' need was unique. Traveling with 4 kids (ages 6 to 12) and five adults (including grandma aged 61) made this adventure the best of all worlds. We booked the morning adventure and directions to site, parking, and expectations were clear. Each member of our party was inviduidually fitted for a life vest, especially our littlest. The majority of the rafting trip was mellow and mostly floating, but the few white water parts were fun. This was okay with our group because of the littles with us. The highlight of our trip was the final swimming hole and opportunity to jump off a rock. The crew was so helpful in getting all the kids safely across and able to jump into the river. It really MADE the trip. Bring a hat, water shoes, board shorts, and leave a towel in the bus if you decide to take a leap. We one cell phone with our guide in his wet pack. Our tour guide was okay, we would have enjoyed more "regional knowledge sharing" about the town/train during the floating parts to add to the trip, but it was still okay. Overall a great little company to book with. Our group enjoyed the adventure.

Awesome experience! Amazing staff...friendly, fun, and informative. Definitely will be coming back on my next Colorado trip.

The train was not operating so our plan B was rafting and a Jeep tour; the train should've been our plan B after the day we had! We did the two hour morning raft and then the twilight Jeep tour that evening. I can't imagine a better way to experience the beauty that encompasses Durango! The guides were very knowledgeable and personable. It didn't seem like the guides were working... it seemed liked they were loving every minute of what they were doing. We can't wait to come back with the extended family to share these experiences with them!!!

Most fun I have had in years!

River rafting was a great experience. Hesitant at first but that only lasted a second. Huge fun! Hit some big water and some great rapids. Our guide Jake was awesome, great personality, had some great jokes. It's a 2 hour trip with about and hour and 5 minutes on the water. Would definatly would do it again!

    The adrenaline rush!

I will admit to being VERY HESITANT about the rafting portion of our combo excursion. The Animas was flowing full of snow melt (from record snow fall) and we had never been rafting before. But we did it! Yes, it was cold. Yes, it was wet. Yes, it was complete adrenaline rushing, soaking, freezing FUN!! Scott was our guide and always made sure to keep us informed and feeling safe. Even the bus driver lady (so sorry I can't remember her name) was fun and took some amazing pics. Then Si drove us up to Silverton to meet the train. I'd done the train a couple of times when I was young, but my family never had (husband and 2 teens) and we all learned so much from Si about the landscape, river, and weather events. Made us appreciate the drive way more than we anticipated we would have. Very professional company. Attentive, patient, easy to work with, and made sure to have all of our needs covered.

I'm guessing some people may think it was a bummer to have to navigate so many rocks because the river was low.

I will cherish the memories made today with my family and friends forever. We rented full day, 0800-1700, Polaris RZRs. There were 6 of us- 2 families of 3. We got in a little late, around 10am due to staying in Montrose the night before. They have to shuttle you up to the beginning of the trail due to a change in law from November 2021. They don't allow ATV/OHV use in town. So, it takes 15 min to get up to the area where you will get your ATV and be fitted for a helmet. Bring rain gear, hoodies, hat, sunscreen, charger for your phone or battery pack. The lunch provided was very good and we did bring more water and snacks. Recommend you do the same also. Since we left late, we had to rush a bit and not stop and see as much as we wanted but this did NOT deter from the sheer awesomeness of the trip. It is beautiful. I cannot convince you of this from photos or a video. You have to see if for yourself. The drive is bumpy. It is fun. It is on the edge of very tall mountains. I made my family scared by my driving- I guess I drive too fast and too close to the edge. I had so much fun! There are bathrooms along the way if needed. We found the maps useful. We did not use our phone map with the app at all. We probably should have- but there are signs and it is pretty easy. Staff explained it all before we left. Take Alpine loop to Animas Fork- see the ghost town- go to Cinnamon Pass and take that to Lake City. Drive through Lake City and follow sign to Engineer Pass. At the top of Engineer Pass- look ahead of where you going and you will see the trial go off to the right. This is Odom Point- you MUST MAKE TIME to stop there. It is the best view! People get married there and I see why. Then follow the trail back. We got rained on on the way back and it was COLD on the hot summer day. My hands got so cold I couldn't feel them. I also got soaked and covered in mud. I had so much fun but would have been happier if I had listened to my husband and brought rain gear. Rock Pirate employees were so helpful and nice and we are so grateful for all their help and advice. I would highly recommend them for any adventure! I cannot wait to do this again and would love to come back for a snowy experience in Silverton with them!

He thought our party had come through there before & caused a lot of problems, when my husband assured him that was not us he didn't seem to care or believe him and continued being rude. (This was a repeat trip for only 3 of the 14) The website says gas is included yet we were charged over $300 for a "gas charge" when the final bill came out, in years past, my husband said this never happened. There was no communication as to why we were charged this excess fee & when my husband asked to talk to Erik who he had worked with in years past, Tom refused to let him speak to him. I called to speak with Erik and was told he would call me back, he never did. Our 4 machines were returned with gas, they didn't have to drive to us with gas cans. The tires on the machines were worn but 1 machine in particular was very worn. We got a flat on the top of a mountain but thankfully there were some kind people who gave us a plug & aired us back up so we could get on our way. We got a 2nd flat (same bald tire) as we neared Rock Pirate & pushed the helping hands button, we waited but after 45 minutes the majority of us decided to head into town with the other 3 machines thinking we'd pass our "help" on the way but never did. The teens working were nowhere in sight but eventually did come out from behind the shop but didn't know anything about our call for assistance. They never got it. Hmmmm.....Eventually they finally headed out to get my husband. If you want a pleasant up front experience from employees that treat you with kindness & respect, honest workers that don't charge you because they feel like it, I would steer clear of this place! Customer Service lacks & so does their integrity.
