Steve Knght was pleasant to work with at first, but then became very rude, unhelpful, and not honest about costs as time went on. I lived out of town and when his quote for counters came at a significantly larger cost then he originally quoted, would not help me find a suitable replacement for a rental and only guided me to places with no pictures to use. He then CHOSE the counters without my approval and was dishonest about the cost to put them in, asking me for an additional $6k months later that somehow "wasn't on the invoice". From speaking with others in Santa Barbara this is a typical experience. If you choose him, account for 150% or so of the price he quoted you initially. My tenant is also a handyman and was inspecting his crews work. He said he had to be on top of them to mount the cabinets correctly, and somehow storage space and cabinets just disappeared. If he hadn't been onsite I think it would have been very poorly constructed.

When I complained the owner aggressively defended his crew. Opposite of the customer is always right. They specifically agreed to put the new unit where I wanted it in the attic, I got NOTHING of the kind. They just stuck where it was easiest/quickest for them. When I balked, THE OWNER'S snap reply was that the person representing him at the time was no longer with them. Now it is almost impossible to access the furnace. They ran the furnace exhaust pipe to a completely different roof vent, again, one that was easier. The FILTER HOUSING was BOTCHED - they put in using sheet larger head metal screws that PROTRUDED INTO THE FILTER HOUSING such that the replaceable pleated filter's frame was crushed. An air diverter was put on the wall without using the new painted screws; instead they used fugly sheet metal screws AND screwed them in so tight the register doesn't set flat on the wall. Poor value for the money

Before diagnosing the actual problem, the guy they sent tried re-wiring the thermostat, then had to re-re-wire it when he realized that wasn't the problem. The tech phoned home and had someone walk him through the repair. In the call, he noticed the second filter, removed it and "bingo" the furnace worked. So problem solved right? Not quite. For reasons unknown, the tech decided to use a screwdriver to pry the squirrel cage off the fan that cools the motor and broke it. He said it was no big deal and would return with a replacement. Two weeks and a phone call later, no replacement. The person I spoke to on the phone told me the heater was old and somehow they weren't responsible for breaking the squirrel cage. Now the furnace is really loud and it wasn't before. I just received a $334.00 bill from them. Look elsewhere for reliable service.

The first time I had R& R out they checked pressure in system and all was fine with system. I once again called and Rick did not hesitate to immediately fit us in his probably filled work schedule. Two tech came and went in attic and confirmed it was nothing wrong with their system. It was determined after they were here about an hour, that being that we just had a new HVAC system put in a few months ago , with new insulation that something was spilled where the leak spots were in our bedroom ceiling. I had not visited this business for decades. It was a welcome surprise to find them not only still…read morein business, but thriving. They keep sporadic hours because they work in the field. When I arrived, there was nobody there, but by the time I left, there were three or four staff busily working the phones and warehouse. During this visit they: 1. inspected three fire extinguishers I brought in and agreed to recycle them for me (they are all very old;) 2. sold me a top quality fire extinguisher (used model) at a great price, and; 3. Filled a new 5-pound C02 tank that I am using to make carbonated water. I am too cheap to buy a soda stream (they also fill those!) and purchased a carbonation system that ought to last me many decades. These friendly Nargan employees could all be cast as the handsome fire captain in an action film. I don't think I'll allow my first-responder-loving wife to go near this place. We had A+ install an air condtioner whilst a solar system was being installed on our roof. I…read moreexplained to the operation manager of A+Refrigeration that the solar system would be going to inspection, but he had his crew install the condenser and piping in such a way that the solar company would not be able to have their system pass inspection. I asked the A+ operations manager to correct his installation but he would not respond. I has to find another refrigeration company to correct A+'s mistakes at my expense. Also the A+ crew was rushed and poorly supervised, leaving caulk on our patio.
