A combination of having to carry my dog up and down stairs for months because of an injury, life stress, and a bad pillow made it so I could barely move my neck last week. I tried heat, acupuncture, theragun, muscle relaxers, tiger balm, relaxing massage, etc., and it got a tiny bit better but came back with a vengeance this week. Last night at 11:30 pm as I couldn't sleep because of the giant knot that was taking over my neck, I looked for deep tissue massage for this morning, and was so glad I found Dusit Thai. Tai was my therapist and is the owner and she basically saved my life. She did a combination of deep tissue Swedish (I think) massage and had great strong pressure and clearly a lot of knowledge and understanding about anatomy as she worked on both my neck things that weren't my neck but made my neck feel much better. At the end she said, "This might feel a little weird but if you're willing to sit on the floor rug and lean against the table, I can use my knees to get even deeper." I put my clothes on and sat on the floor and I couldn't see what she was doing but somehow she put all her weight in her knee and the knee on my shoulder and it was the best thing that's ever happened to my muscle knots. They have Thai, Swedish, and deep tissue massage and also reflexology. They can do a combination of things like they did for me. I will DEFINITELY be back and I recommend you all check it out! read more

They need more help at the front desk. Someone that can answer questions for people that don't know the different massages. They want you to go online but a lot of people don't know how to use that service. I even tried to call and leave a message to have somebody call me back and there was no voicemail for me to leave a message. Then when I finally was able to get online, of course they're booked, but I still needed help to figure out what type of massage I wanted to get and how much it was gonna cost me so that part was just a little frustrating. read more

Booked a deep tissue massage for 60 min, prices were average. I marked heavy pressure and told my masseuse firm pressure was preferred-it felt very light still. I told her the main areas of concern were my upper neck and back, yet she spent a good amount of time on my legs-which were not bothering me. I didn't feel like I noticed that much of an improvement/difference after my massage. Plus for proximity to park street and walking distance to other shops. Their lot is pretty small that they share with labcorp and other businesses so you may have to hunt more for parking. Ambiance is nice though inside-tranquil space and clean. Overall I'd say average massage for average prices. If you're looking for a deep tissue massage I would look elsewhere. read more

Last weekend, my fiancée and I had the absolute pleasure of visiting this massage parlor and what an absolutely amazing experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by name (how sweet and personal is that?!), and the level of care, attention, and detail only went up from there. I personally love an intense deep tissue massage to help with chronic back pain and some scar tissue I have on my shoulder and back and made note of this when making an appt online. The masseuse assigned to me was INCREDIBLE - she checked in often to make sure she was using the right amount of pressure and really focused on the areas that needed the most attention. By the end, I felt a level of relief that was, without a doubt, worth every penny - and then some. My fiancée, on the other hand, prefers a much more gentle massage, and they completely nailed her preferences too. We both walked out of there feeling like brand-new people--happy, relaxed, and beyond grateful we came. We'll definitely be coming back again in the future. My partner and I have been coming here for about a year now. We absolutely love this place and all the therapists. The atmosphere is calm and soothing ... it's always such a pleasurable and healing experience to get our couples massages here. We feel renewed and refreshed after every visit. We like the Thai massage because it incorporates stretching into some deep tissue work. The therapists will work on specific areas if you want. All you have to do is ask. Last week my IT band was extremely tight and painful. My therapist spent a lot of time working on it and I could really feel the difference after my appointment. Thank you, Dusit Thai! Best deep tissue massage I've ever had. I'm usually pretty sensitive, and book Swedish, but I've been so tight and sore lately, I went ahead and booked a 60 minute deep tissue. Unlike other deep tissue massages I've had, while I absolutely got worked, it didn't make me cringe, tighten up, or wish it would stop, even at my most tender low back. It was as though there was a bit more surface area to counter how deep she was going. And we're talking deep - she even described the tightness of my back muscles as feeling like bone. I even asked (and was lucky enough) to get an extra 30 minutes! I went back and tried my very first Thai massage a few weeks later, and it was lovely. My spouse is an old pro and since we were in the room together, I heard all of the grunts and groans of the other end of the spectrum, and how much being worked out and walked on was helping. Next time, I know to ask for the full effect, because I know I can definitely take and benefit from more. These folks are the real deal. We are planning to go weekly until we get ourselves feeling consistently better. read more

The two massages I have booked with Tai have been the best I've ever had. I have trouble with chronic neck and shoulder pain and have tried everything over 10+ years; massage, acupuncture, cupping, PT, chiropractors, you name it. I've never walked out of a session of any kind of therapy feeling pain-free until seeing Tai for Thai Therapeutic Massage. She was very attentive to ensuring that I was comfortable and that the pressure wasn't beyond what I could tolerate, which made this a better experience than past Thai massages that have been too painful for me to want to go back. I've been looking for a high quality and affordable spot for massages when I want to treat myself to some much needed R&R, and after trying a few spots around Alameda, Dusit Thai is the one!! The space itself is pretty simple and small, but I appreciate the small details like cute plant decor, real hand towels in the bathroom, and the heated massage bed. Dusit Thai is the best massage in Alameda! Highly recommend the traditional Thai massage or the Thai combination massage (think Thai massage + deep tissue), and 90 minutes if you have time! It's a combination of deep tissue + stretching + yoga poses. Tai and team always makes sure to customize the session based on areas that need extra work. I also recently received a facial. It was not only relaxing but also left my skin feeling fresh and extra smooth! Also the massage during the facial relieved my face, shoulder, and neck tension from my TMJ. Amazing massage, I'm a regular now. My personal favorite is the Deep Tissue 90 mins with Tai. Today I tried something different and did a facial with Renu since Tai recommended trying it. Holy smokes!! Never has 60 mins flown by so quick...most relaxing experience ever. Renu incorporates head massage techniques with her facial. I had a bad injury in my arm where the tendon wasn't healing after several months of rest. I booked an appointment with Tai, the most experienced masseuse. She applied a unique balm of Thai and Chinese herbs that burned like Tiger Balm and deeply penetrated the muscles. After 20 minutes of massage on my arm, the tendons loosened up for the first time in months, and I felt immediate relief. I've returned several times, and my injury has almost completely healed. I highly recommend this parlor, especially Tai, for her healing abilities and deep tissue massage. read more

If you're someone who wants her to apply more or less pressure, don't be afraid to speak up because she listens well and will make the necessary adjustments. For two years I've had a persistent shooting pain coming from my back and hip area that travels all the way down my right leg, all the way to almost my knee. Walking crookedly due to bad knees is the cause. This year I finally had both knees replaced, and now that I'm walking normally and without knee pain, I needed to have my back/hip area attended to. Tai dedicated a large portion of the 1.5 hour deep tissue massage to releasing the tightness where the pain originates from. She worked on me while I lay on my side, and this past week I was able to walk normally for the first time in a very long while. She's responsive to requests about pressure. Tonight was my second out of three and I'm looking forward to being able to move pain-free for even longer this time. After next week's massage I plan to get them every other week or once a month. More if I need it; my pain won't disappear overnight. The facility is quiet, peaceful, clean, and smells good. Very welcoming atmosphere. Worth every penny.
