Sadly disappointed at the lack of communication, loyalty, and kindness that I experienced. If you yourself misplace anything and later email asking if the cleaners saw it, and then tell them you found your item and apologize for the trouble, you will be let go as a client because they "are no longer comfortable" in your home... and will leave you guessing as to why when you call to ask. I was initially skeptical because Dust Away is much more reasonably priced than the others, but I loved their service and am now using them biweekly. I'm revising my review based on the company reaching out to me to resolve these issues. I hired them for a top-to-bottom Spring cleaning. It cost $200. Something come up at work and I had to leave the cleaners to work alone, figuring they were insured and bonded given the assurances from the organizer, it seemed reasonable. I came home to a broken speaker, a chip in my floor from the impact of the broken speaker falling off its pedestal stand, and my cat, locked in the closet. So, they locked my cat in my closet, destroyed a $750 speaker, and damaged four panels of hardwood flooring and no one told me anything about it. SO, I called the folks in charge and had a bit of a conniption. They seemed genuinely surprised by the incident, truly so. They didn't charge me for the cleaning and have compensated me for half of the cost of replacing the speaker (since they're only sold in pairs and only one speaker was broken, that seems perfectly fair). A week later, the check was in my mailbox. I'd not hire them again nor would I recommend them, but I'm willing to believe that my experience is not representative of their operation and mainly a consequence of bad luck. read more

This is the first maid service I have ever used and I have already used them twice! The first time was a complete spring cleaning and I think because it was my first experience I was amazed by the results! The second time was just a maintenance clean and was still very good, but because I had kept my house somewhat clean from the spring cleaning service wasn't as blown away by the results, but Marina and Miriam did an great job none the less! I had Gina and Miriam come to my home yesterday to clean. I opted for the deep clean and some extras. The girls did a great job and everything went smoothly. They were very professional and worked in a timely manner. My home was not as dirty as expected once we started going through it. My only complaint was that once I booked the service there is no way to adjust the payment so I overpaid. I ended up not needing my oven cleaned and changed my mind on having the refrigerator wiped out. I was charged for all the options that I chose initially but couldn't find an option to make the adjustment. I would use them again for sure but I want to know what I am paying for before they charge my card. I'm hoping to speak to someone from the company regarding the adjustments. read more

In response to what the business wrote: How interesting... Well, you can now add LIARS and THIEVES to your repertoire. From the minute these women stepped in, they had a complete attitude--especially the "owner". I offered them water and fruit, which they declined. The owner was the rudest of them all. My fastidious needs? You mean, asking the maids to do their jobs properly, and mop my floor? Because those were my only requests--to mop the floor (and not tuck it under my couch) and to rinse the dishes and put them in the dishwasher... they didn't even put the dishes away, they left, and I did that. THEY DID NOTHING! You people don't know how to run a business nor do you know how to do your job properly. All these women were doing were chatting away in Spanish. Why do you need 3 women washing the dishes at the same time? Why did you send me three inept maids? Not only did they do their job poorly, but they also left MUCH earlier than they were supposed to--which I showed proof of. Also, I actually paid you more than the wage considering they left much earlier and didn't do their job. All you people did was waste my time. At least they didn't break anything this time, like they did with past clients (per customer review and your acknowledgment of the incident). Also, upon hiring these maids, I told the man on the phone what my expectations were (Clean floors, and dishes), as well as measurements of my home; my home is a 1-story 5 bedroom home, and I told them they didn't need to worry about the bedrooms, literally JUST the floors for the kitchen, family-room, dining-room and hallways--no bedrooms and no bathrooms. Interesting how I have NEVER had any issues with any other maid service. Merry Maids (which I highly recommend to all who are reading) as well as independents maids have all been very sweet, courteous, and competent --t hey have all been great and have never complained; they do their job, and get paid. Now, how was it IMPOSSIBLE for THREE maids to clean a home, ESPECIALLY when all I requested was for the floors to be mopped and the dishes to be done (btw, we have a dishwasher--so, for the dishes to be rinsed, because I put them away). Normally, this would be a 1 person job and it would take only 30 minutes or less--somehow it took 3 maids an hour to do this? WOW! Like I said, they were just chatting away the entire time, and left early. They take absolutely NO pride in their work, and have no respect. When I called the business to try and rectify the issue and explain to them how dissatisfied I was due to the FACT that the maids left early and didn't do their job, I received attitude. Of course, because the owner is also the maid. These women literally swept all of the dust and dirt under my couch--they did more damage than good. The person on the phone was extremely aggressive with me, therefore, I was aggressive back. They couldn't even mop a floor properly? REALLY? EVERYONE--AVOID THIS BUSINESS!!! I have used Dust Away (especially Myriam!) for the last 6 months and have been very pleased with their services. Here's why - FIRST - they pay attention to what you ask them to do; i have specifically told them what TO (e.g. dust carefully, and pick things up to dust under) and what NOT TO do (e.g. don't hit the walls w/ the vacuum) and Myriam and her help do exactly what i say. SECOND, they have never been late - usually, they are a little early, and will call and ask if they can start early. THIRD - when there's been a mishap (e.g. broken refrigerator magnet) they tell me about it. I have had LOTS of maid services, and usually end up firing them after a half dozen times because they do WHAT THEY WANT, instead of what i tell them to do. Dust Away is not that type and can be trusted. read more
