    1978 Yamaha SR500, all original.

Jay is awesome. Great mechanic. He fixed the carburetor on my '78 Yamaha SR500. Now she purrs. Highly recommend him, he even dropped my bike off to me. Front door service, couldn't ask for more.

While a review of Dust, Rust, and Oil -This is really just thank you to Jay for the hard work and love he's put into my two bikes in the last couple weeks. ***Note: the new shop space is in build out but call him anyways, he's working remotely and house-calling.... just don't get pissed at the guy if you go looking for his shop and can't find it on lincoln :-) cause it currently doesn't exist at that address. The main reason why I like Jay, aside from the fact that he really knows his shit, and is a good dude...is because It's becoming increasingly uncommon these days to find real technicians and craftsmen that are exemplary in their field of study while having a good sense of care, hospitality, and value. Jay's got it, and as much as I'd like to keep him a secret i want to see the man keep his shop full! From advice to house calls, to simple fixes and full on rebuilds the dude goes above and beyond. You will not find this level of attention and thoroughness at most bike shops... or most business for that matter. I've got two old bikes that mean a lot to me and as long as I'm in Cali, then Jay is the only guy thats gonna touch them. Thanks Jay! Everyone else....Enjoy! ~~~ below are some phase 1 photos the scrambler/tracker mod we're currently working on. This 1978 CB750 super sport - came to Jay a very weathered stock 78 cb750four super sport and in literally just a couple days he had it running like it never has before and looking mean as hell - super stoked to see where this bike goes.

Great service! Barely got to work on a rear flat. Needed a plug and Jay came right out and fixed it for a fair price.

Absolutely do not waste your time, your money, or your sanity with any of the other shops in town…read more I've been to most of the self-proclaimed Honda/vintage bike specialists and have been through the wars with mechanics who screwed up so many things and missed serious problems on my CB360, that Shannon is without a doubt the only dude who is allowed to touch my bike now. The exception to that rule is anyone he personally recommends. The guy he sent me to for my valve seals, for example did an amazing job and not only fixed the oil leak but got my compression back to factory spec for a ridiculously low sum. Shannon's rates are totally reasonable, his turnaround quotes are accurate, he patiently explains what needs to be done and why. He's also enthusiastic about working on your old bike the other non-vintage shops won't even touch. Bottom line is he's a smart guy who practices his craft with skill and integrity, and is cool as hell. Most importantly his work holds up. When he fixes something, you don't have to worry about it being done right. After getting condescending and hostile attitudes from too many amateurs who thought they were the Honda whisperer, I'm extremely grateful to have found SS Classics and will bring my bikes here for years to come.

He does everything from restorations to cleaning carbs and everything in between. My experience with him started with a tuneup and small repair to my engine case after I dropped my bike. After I had him repair my motorcycle I got in a jam on the freeway early in the morning and he drove out to get me running again as soon as I called him. Shannon definitely embodies the best qualities of a local small business owner.

I do happen to ride so we decided to drop into the store to say thank you and check out the store. It has a great selection of gear, helmets, and even female rider attire. I found out from Juan that they not only service bikes, they rent them out too. I mentioned that I ride a moto Guzzi and he told me that they service that brand and have the oil filters in stock (which I did have trouble sourcing when I changed my oil earlier this year). Overall it's a great store with great employees! Thanks so much, Juan!

Auction site is literally a Cycle Trader with bidding and zero responsibility…read more 1) They don't know how Escrow works even though they offer it. I wanted to ensure a safe purchase through escrow. They charged me for their escrow service, I wired the money, and without getting the title or other collateral to confirm any articles of ownership, they wired the money directly to the seller. That's not escrow. Look it up. 2) Their "partnership" with shippers is not a true partnership. I expected a date for pick up, and after asking for updates constantly every few days, was given one, which then turned in to "Well, they got some other business and have to pick the bikes up first, so you'll have to wait". That's not a partnership, and it sure as hell isn't "white glove service". 3) They don't know the state laws around title transfers. They're hands off on the titles which makes this auction site vulnerable to scams. 4) It took over three months for me to receive and title the bike I purchased, and due to their lack of knowledge around state laws, I had to run around to rectify an issue due to one state requiring a state to witness the transfer title document. So, in a nutshell, these guys use a website to connect sellers and buyers, charge you a large fee without offering any assurances to the buyer or seller to reduce/eliminate scams, and charge for a white glove service where they don't know what they are doing and brag about partnerships they don't have. The CEO jumped in the email thread around this whole issue and I offered to detail to him the above issues, but he has not responded. Purchasing parts is one thing, but I would avoid the auctions. That's a lawsuit waiting to happen.

After seeing similar complaints in reviews, I was hesitant to continue. Thankfully, I gave it one more shot and was connected with Mo, and I'm so glad I did. Mo was respectful, honest, funny, and never pushy. He made the entire process comfortable and easy. I also worked with Fred in finance, who was equally kind and straightforward. The dealership is beautiful, the process was smooth, and I drove away with my dream car. While the initial interaction was disappointing, Mo completely turned the experience around. The last straw was when he pointed toward the second car I was supposed to look at and told me to go over there and look at it because he had another appointment, and that if I had any questions I could call him. He essentially abandoned the interaction midpoint, so I told him, I'm no longer interested and walked away. I was polite and courteous the entire time, so I don't know if he was having a bad day or if he's simply a bad salesperson, but either way the behavior was unprofessional and rude. When I called the dealership after leaving, to complain, another salesperson tried to run interference before connecting me to a manager. He asked who I was and even stated my name first, which made it clear Asanti had spoken to this other salesperson about the interaction and knew I was calling to complain about him. That added to the overall discomfort with how this situation was handled. To the manager's credit, he was apologetic, although he did try to excuse the bad behavior by saying they were shorthanded, which is no excuse for rudeness. I would avoid this dealership, and if you do decide to use them, certainly avoid Asanti.
