Best meal of my entire trip!! Decided I wanted to try a crawfish boil with a friend, and called Squidlys after finding it online. Best decision ever! Called early in the day and the guy was super nice over the phone, helped me pick out a good order as this was my first time getting that kind of seafood. Went to pick it up and it was ready the minute I walked in. He pulled out a few cold crawfish so that he could teach us how to eat them. So nice of him! And the food was amazing. I'm kicking myself for not looking online earlier. The other steamer place was our "go to" while vacationing here. Every time I went there, I felt like I was making a car payment when we got our meal. Squidly's taste better and at least 35% less. You can order a la carte. For example, I ordered 2 pounds of shrimp, 2 large salads (huge!) and 2 side orders of potatoes. It fed my family of 4. The banana pudding was also yummy. No crumbs left behind. It was all delicious. Also, I was able to comfortably cross PCB Pkwy in our golf cart via Front Beach Rd from those side streets. read more

We didn't even get to eat any food here.......here's what happened.....we got to Squidlys at 6:30 to order some crab and shrimp. Based on the reviews we were pretty excited. When we got there we noticed a gentleman sitting on a stool behind the counter. It didn't really look like he was doing anything so I was thinking this was going to be quick. He asked us what we wanted and got up to get some water to pour in the steamer. We told him we wanted a small shrimp platter to start with. He looked over at some tickets and said it would not be ready until 8:15. I was sure I miss heard him but alas, he confirmed it would be 8:15. Almost 2 hours to steam some shrimp and crab? This was the best choice that we made on our whole beach trip!!! The food was absolutely amazing. You can't get that amount of food anywhere on the beach for this price. We sat on the beach and watched the sunset and when we walked in the food was being delivered hot a fresh to our door. The shrimp already had the veins taken out and the crab legs were so easy to crack. Our family was able to gather around the table and enjoy each others company without the long wait time, loud and busy restaurant experience. We ate at plenty of local/tourist restaurants while on our trip and this was the best food and experience. We did the shrimp and crab feast for 10-12. I will note that it was pretty spicy (especially the sausage) so if you are sensitive that is something to keep in mind or maybe mention when you order. I would 100% recommend doing this...
