Updating my previous five star review. The coffee is great however, the two line system is very unfair. I came before two other cars but since they pulled up to the left side of the line, I was cut twice! This has happened multiple times and I don't appreciate my time being wasted due to cutters. The one thing I wish there was for the outside staff taking orders is more protection from the elements. I had not. She mentioned that they had quite a cult following. I was unaware of this and had only ever seen that one particular location off I-45N. Fast forward a few days and there I am fresh off eating an inordinate amount at nearby, That's My Dog. Before heading with my son to a park, I desperately needed caffeine to prevent a lethal food coma. The only problem: it's a 2-lane drive-thru, and in my 37+ years on Earth, I have NEVER seen this many vehicles in one (two) drive-thru(s). Each lane must have been 12 deep. Had I not just had the conversation with my wife the other day, I would have looked for an alternative. But I had to see what the hype was about. I came here for the nitro, but I also had to try a tea with the POG (pomegranate, orange, guava) toppings because my vacations in Hawaii have ruined me powerless over ever resisting anything POG. The result? Both were tasty and just fine. Would I wait 20 minutes again? No. But was I happy I tried it? Yep. The drive-thru made things convenient with a kid in the car, but he was getting antsy. We stopped by this Dutch Bros location on our way to cypress. My husband and I had both never been, so we asked the employee working in the drive thru to walk us through the menu. I got an iced golden eagle and my husband got the iced orange blossom (I think that's what it was called). MAN WE LOVED OUR DRINKS. I was so happy I can't even explain it. That coffee hit! Writing this review about 2 weeks after Dutch Bros opened. Pretty sure they opened 12/26 and since that time the drive thru has been perpetually full. I'd heard of Dutch Bros from acquaintances from the NW. Apparently this location is one of many recently opening in this part of the country. Since every Starbucks in the area regularly disappoints me, I was excited to have an alternative option for my fix. The story of Dutch Bros is a feel-good one - their website boasts a culture of community and giving, and I can of course get on board with that. They highlight stories of their staff helping each other and helping their customers which is a nice thing to see in this age of polarization. What I was really interested in during my maiden visit to this place, though, was whether the experience was enough to incentivize me (or my husband) to break a well-established coffee routine and make a change. We got to Dutch Bros at 11:10am on a Sunday. I know this because I was paying attention; since one of our biggest complaints with the other coffee places in the area is the wait time in the drive thru, I was particularly interested in how this experience would go. As was the case nearly every time we'd driven by Dutch Bros in the last 2 weeks, the drive thru was completely full when we pulled in. We sat for about 2 minutes before either of the 2 lines moved at all. It was about 30 degrees outside otherwise we would've parked and walked up to the window to order. As I perused the menu before ordering, I saw very few simple options - only excessively sugary, very specific drinks with super aggressive names like The Annihilator or 911. The drink names are really confusing and don't seem to match any of the other branding for Dutch Bros. Since I didn't go to school for marketing, I guess that's none of my business. Just seems totally out of place. In the middle of all the blended, sugary coffee drinks, the smoothies and slushies and energy drinks, there is just a random option for an Americano. Separate from their regular menu is a list of other seasonal drinks that you'll only find if you go directly to their website. I still have no idea how to navigate their menu. I settled on a Cinnamon Swirl Oat Milk Latte and asked them to go really light on the sweetener. My husband ordered a medium hot Americano and a large iced Americano. The girl taking our order seemed to really struggle with the second Americano and got stuck on a loop confusing herself by clarifying that we wanted, "a medium large....medium large....medium large...what?". It was at that point we started to understand why the line was moving so slow. All told, it took us 28 minutes from arrival to departure with our drinks. My latte was fine. It's fine. I'm sitting here drinking it as I write this, with each sip hoping I'll have something else to write home about, and there's nothing. It's an adequate cup of coffee that took more effort than I cared to exert to order. I will say, it was piping hot and didn't have a drink sleeve, so I had to be super strategic with how I held it for the first 15 minutes. Not ideal. My husband seemed to prefer the iced Americano over the hot Americano, but neither of them were particularly noteworthy. Let me be clear about something - I love new businesses coming to Katy. I love new options. I love supporting businesses with a story. I love getting excited about what everyone else is getting excited about. So far, I just can't do that with Dutch Bros. It's a neat concept. It's in a really convenient location. It has coffee. The end. read more

The coffee is perfect and staff is amazing! First time trying, their staff asked how I like my coffee and made a recommendation based on that.... Their recommendation is now my favorite! The best part is that the taste and service has been consistent. I really appreciate good service as it's hard to come by anymore. Even my pups are fans! Ps... I saw someone else mention about staff not being well versed with the drinks. I also was recommended on first visit, and the next few times they didn't know what I was talking about, but again the staff took time to figure it out... it's a learning curve. I could tell staff on first day was probably there for the opening and training. I have heard a lot of hype about Dutch Bros, and from my experience it is overrated. We don't live near this location, but happened to be in the area so we finally decided to try it out. Dutch Bros is set up to be drive thru only, and when we got there, there were already setting cars in line. I would suggest looking at the menu ahead of time, because once we got in line, there was no menu to look at (until further up the line, but an employee had already taken our order.) I got the Annihilator drink iced (it's a breve that has espresso, half and half and chocolate macadamia nut syrup.) My siblings got some of their energy drink based beverages (Aftershock and Shark Attack.) The annihilator drink was like drinking straight up milk; it was overwhelmingly sweet and I couldn't taste any of the espresso. I don't like super sweet drinks, so I might be a little biased, but I would not recommend it. My siblings' drinks were good, but I also don't like energy drinks, so it is also something I wouldn't personally get. read more

A well deserved 5 star experience!!! Let me just start off by saying "location, staff, quality, & service!!!"....Not a negative word to say & here is why. The drive through line looked intimidating; however, the line flowed as i stood outside and made my order at the front of the building. The staff were so upbeat and engaging, even during the rush of business. The nice lady who took my order at the storefront window gave great advice on the choices and selections made. The area was parking friendly and conveniently located. The pricing was shockingly inexpensive considering the taste quality and size of my drink. I purchased the "High Dive Lemonade" which was sooooooo flavorful and fresh tasting. The drink was fair in sweet level and gave the best relief on a hot summer day. The medium is humungous! Priced about the same as Starbucks, but much more drink for your buck. Ive been to this location twice and I was really excited to try it out. If you've never been, I'd suggest looking at their menu options online because in person their menu is very vague. On my first visit I got the cinnamon swirl oat milk latte (wanted to try something new) and on my second I got a dirty chai. Both drinks were very sweet. As someone who doesn't really like overly sugary drinks, I haven't very excited to drink what I ordered. In a future visit I'll see if I can just get drinks half as sweet or just get regular coffee.
