While I will almost always give a local coffee shop preference over a chain, I occasionally make exceptions. When I'm visiting my family in the Redding area, especially in the heat of summer, not much beats an iced coffee from Dutch Bros. The first time I rolled through this drive-up coffee shop I didn't expect the brew to be any good. I don't generally have high expectations for food and drink establishments that don't require me to get out of my car. But I actually enjoy their coffee quite a lot. They only make espresso, so it's always fresh, and it's about 100x more flavorful and less burnt tasting than the house coffee at Starbucks. Also, unlike many other coffee shops chain and local alike, they know how to make an iced Americano appropriately strong and not all watered down with water and ice. Bonus point because the staff are endlessly friendly and always keep the dog treats flowing for my dog who tends to be a barker. read more

Shit. I've been avoiding joining the Cult of Dutch Bros. like I avoid the laundry room when the cat's litter-box gets ripe. For a long time, in fact (DB, not the LR). Everywhere you go around town, you see vehicles of youngsters covered with Dutch Bros. "Dutch Mafia" tattoos. It's just weird. I've also stayed away because I'm a drip-coffee guy, black, and at Dutch Bros. you have to order an Americana -- they don't do drip. TL knows the recipe -- two shots in a medium cup and please leave X fingers empty at the top -- and it's all good. I forget the recipe (X = 3 plus or minus 1 as close as I recall), so when I order an Americana, I rarely get it right. It's not that I'm strictly against non-drip coffee drinks. I'm okay with sipping a latte in the morning, a cappuccino in the afternoon, or an espresso in the evening after dinner. It's just that I almost never do. Caloric intake has something to do with it, but mostly it's just that when it comes to coffee (only), I'm a fundamentalist. Yesterday I go to my regular on-the-way-to-work drip-coffee outlet, and it's closed. Gutted for remodeling. So this morning I drive through the local Dutch Bros. for the first time and order a latte. The worker bees in the hive are Dude and Dudette, both ultra-friendly (in a way that I ordinarily find offputting, but not while I'm on the Prednisone, which is another story) and flying their hipster flags. Cool reggae tunes emanating from the booth. Dudette: (lovely smile) Would your doggie like a treat? Dude: (vibing coolness) Hey Bro, what's the plan for today? Me: Headin' to work. Dude: Cool, Bro. Don't work too hard. Dudette: (that lovely, toothy smile again) Any flavor in your latte? Me: Nah. Straight up. Yampa loved her dog treat. The latte was exactly a buck less than the place I went yesterday after leaving my gutted regular stop. It was very good. Shit. read more

Sorry no photo on this one. My brain quit working and I forgot the photo or to even check in when there yesterday 3/3/18. I ordered a large picture perfect Dutch freeze. My wife and I were going to share it. As always the baristas were super friendly and fast. They gave me my drink which was perfect. Then they asked if we wanted a free birthday cake freeze, we said sure. The only reason I gave 4 rather than 5 stars is one of the baristas was a little chatty for my taste. Anyone else would probably have loved the attention. Bottom line, this is a wonderful Dutch bros location, and I will return whenever I'm in the area. read more

I'm very upset. I understand people wanting free water.. but when you are a 40 year old woman and didn't expect the heat with your dogs and you pull through like you've done a million times and asked for a large ice water for ourselves and dogs. I explained how I just got my card stolen. The girl wanted $6 for 3 waters.. one would've been for my service dogs.. so we asked for free waters.. and they are unbelievablely small... Disgusted I handed the kid working my Dutch brothers stamp card that was already almost full and said here I don't I'm ok.. stressed... I was supposed to get a spot in lakehead.. and nothing went as planned because my friend was having a meltdown... So the owner wouldn't rent to me because I didn't have a car.. we've been in a motel room.. we got another place tomorrow ... Then when I got into my account I found out someone had stolen 180 from me... Figured it out.. it was my friend I was staying with.. she took my card before we went to the coast.. so I called to have money transferred and report the theft.. well they transferred the money but since I had a fraud they ordered me a new card.. and I've been waiting for them to call so I can pay for my room.. and I need a 100.. idc if it's a card or whatever . My new card is getting sent to me overnight FedEx.. and I'm willing to pay back with interest if you know anyone that can help me.. I have no where to go because I caught my friend stealing from me... The staff here is usually very upbeat and fun. Try the 911 it will get you wired and it's so creamy and delicious with the 5 shots of espresso and Irish cream. The only time it's super slow here is when the teenagers get out of school and fill the parking lot, al ot of attention goes to friends visiting with each other. read more

Staying with friends in town and have gone to DB two mornings in a row. I had never been before this weekend so I had no idea what to order. I don't like super sweet coffee drinks and by the looks of the menu I thought I wouldn't like anything. I've honestly never understood why everyone loved Dutch Bro's so much, until I stopped by the Palo Cedro location. I can't drink caffeine so naturally there is no reason for me to go here however occasionally with friends I have gone to get dutch bros. In the past I had issues every time I went and they has even gave me regular coffee instead of decaf. When I drove by the Palo Cedro location and noticed they weren't busy I figured what the heck I'll try one last time. I'm so glad I did! The employees were helpful, happy, and made me a delicious decaf drink. They asked about my day and made me feel special. I will definitely make the trip out to Palo Cedro in the future. read more

Beats starbucks out of the water i came there on 1/19/17 at 8:50 pm the guy behind the counter was very happy and having a good night and his outgoing attitude swayed me to try a new drink instead of getting just two hot drinks i had to get a third cold. He mentioned his name and introduced himself and i was thankful for the time to look through the menu he was very professional and quick. Our drinks were out faster than i expected i turned around and they were done it kind of surprised me because i thought he still had to make the cold drink but i saw he already had it along with the others.
