My sister lives in Millville and this was the first time we went into this very cute coffee shop! We decided to have a slow morning and enjoy some coffee and breakfast with my sister & niece. We were the only ones inside as they open at 8:00am and we arrived at 8:30am. The women were very sweet in taking our order and preparing our coffee and breakfast items. The caramelized onion and thyme danish could have had more onion flavor in my opinion; it was very mild tasting but overall very yummy! The Lassen Breakfast Sandwich was TO DIE FOR. The croissant dough was EXTREMELY flakey (dare I say almost TOO flakey). Just prepare for a flakey mess! But the flavors of the fresh spinach, yummy egg, aioli and ripe tomato made the PERFECT bite! The banana bread latte with oat milk was the perfect balance of coffee, oat milk, sweetness. I was debating on adding some extra banana bread syrup but I will try that next time. They did forget to bring us a chocolate croissant that my niece ordered; but she was apologetic and brought it over and we paid for it afterwards. Forgot to take a photo but the croissant was more fluffy and not as flakey as the sandwich; there was a good amount of chocolate inside and my niece ate the entire thing! The interior is very cozy and feels like home and welcoming. The prices are a little steep, but for what you are getting (freshly made daily pastries, syrups, coffee), I would gladly support again! read more

I've been wanting to visit this bakery for a few weeks now, and we finally had the opportunity to visit this afternoon. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the head chef's father. He was so excited to tell us about how his daughter carefully picked the ingredients for their goods, and he wasn't kidding! The first thing we tried was the cookie truffles, and they were absolutely delicious. The filling was like a smooth cookie dough, and the chocolate coating was nice and crispy. Next was the chocolate chip cookie, and it tasted absolutely luxurious. The edges were slightly crispy, and the center was chewy and soft. I love their choice of chocolate that they use. The chocolate that they use isn't overly sweet, and it has almost a floral note at the end. The chocolate tart was also another winner. The tart shell was crumbly and held its shape well despite us waiting a couple of hours to eat it. The tart filling was a very intense, deep cocoa flavor, and it had a silky texture. The profiterole was absolutely delicious! It's hard to find a good place that does choux pastry so well. The shell was butter, airy, and held the chocolate cream filling very well. I would love to try their other products down the road. The inside of the shop had a warm and comfortable atmosphere to it. It felt like a great place to read a book, especially during a cold winter morning. We didn't get to try their drinks or their Saturday-only breakfast sandwich, but there will definitely be a next time. Please give this local bakery a try! read more

Time, money and quality... I don't usually review any restaurant unless I feel like I've had amazing service or something was worth mentioning. Lassen Pastry was cute inside, don't get me wrong, I loved the rustic, vintage feel. But the prices were insane.. $8 for a small 12 oz latte, no additives or substitutions. Then $8 for a small cinnamon roll and $7 for a "caramelized onion jam croissant" that was the size of a baseball. There was no filling expect for a small dollop on the top about the size of a quarter. The pastry tasted good but for what was given, it should have costed $3 or $4 not $7.. altogether for 3 small lattes, a "coconut matcha" that had NO coconut in it, and 3 small pastries it was $57! Then for the cherry on top, we waited 15 minutes for drinks and another 10 for the food that ended up being served cold when we asked for it to be warmed. By the end of the experience, all who came with me said we probably wouldn't come back. Nice idea but not worth the money or time. read more

Wonderful and charming little place. So cozy and inviting. Tried their sticky buns and they were amazing!! I bought them for my husband because they really aren't my thing, but ....now I love them!! So tasty. She handed me the box with 2 of them and they were heavy. I was shocked. I went close to closing and the place was pretty cleaned out. I will definitely be back. So, I finally retired on Monday, September 30th and thought, "I've always wanted to stop in at that cute little bakery, but was always in too much of a hurry..." When you walk inside, your senses are immediately struck by the interior's ambiance- "Am I in someone's home? What year is this? Have I gone back in time?" You feel your mind and body relax... Such a fantastic spot! The pastries are all made in-house and they are to die for, from the classics like brownies to clever creations like the peanut butter & jelly cookie. New pastry spot in Palo Cedro. Just stopped in once and had a mini-coffee cake and a chocolate chip cookie. Both were very good even though we picked them up late in the day. Still soft. Will be stopping in more often in the future for those mini-coffee cakes. They're excellent! read more
