An oasis of taste in the wild north. The ONLY place worth eating if you are anywhere on the 299, 3 or 36. Worth the drive to Hayfork for this unique and tasty adventure. Beware that things do not move at a city pace here. Relax, enjoy, check out the pictures on the walls and chat with locals. It's a different life up here in a slower lane. You're delicious food will be served up and will be exactly what you were waiting for and didn't know it. This restaraunt has a long wooden bar inside, and apparently used to be a meeting hall of some sort (and maybe a bar once?). The new owners started this lunch place a couple of years ago, serving coffee and juices, panninis, soup and sandwiches. They fixed the place up, and the room is large and is set up with couches, end tables and regular tables. I like this place, even though it's a little dark inside (not much outside light due to the log cabin structure), but it's very clean and comfy. Not a huge menu, but it's decent lunch food, and the comfort level helps. There are little outside tables that are nice on a sunny day. Their coffee is good, and it's not as expensive as other places. This business is located on the north side of the highway, just a little past 'downtown', near the bank (there's only one bank in town - you won't miss it). read more

What a great place. Our band has played here twice. It's so out of the way and the roads there are treacherous and winding, but we still came back for the second time cause we had so much fun the first. Really nice people, cozy atmosphere, good food, good local wines. The owner, Dennis, is just the coolest guy. And so is the rest of his family. Really appreciative and supportive of the bands, and music in general. I hate going to a place where they act like THEY're the ones doing you a big favor for allowing you the privilege of playing at their place. Definitely not this place. It's a fun place to play. It's a smaller place, so when we play here, we have to tone it down a ton. We play a more acoustic set, especially since a lot of the patrons are older. I think our band has made it a ritual to make this a stop on every tour we do from now on. Thank you Northern Delights! for being the coolest. read more

I love Northern Delights. I grew up in Hayfork in the days where you couldn't get a decent cup of coffee anywhere and the only entertainment would be an occasional bar band down the street. Moving back in the last couple years, I have been so pleased the Northern Delights exists! Northern delights not only offers great coffee, yummy snacks and quality entertainment, but it has become a community meeting spot. With free wi-fi and the best staff ever, many folks make it their home away from home to do business, catch up with friends, make new friends and just hang out. I pop in for almost any evening event they have, just to support local music and see some familiar faces. The open mic nights are fabulous and very well attended. Dennis is a music lover and activist, always encouraging folks to do their thing. The winter months can be slow where music is concerned but in the Spring - Fall, you can count on a full calendar of events that include touring acts and local players. read more

During my 3-month internship, I had to drive over to Hayfork once a week. If I arrived early, I'd go grab a bite to eat at Northern Delights. I love their turkey panini & orange cream italian soda, yum! All the staff is super friendly. The place feels homey & I think it's one of the fee local hangouts. Free wifi here as well! Stopped for iced coffee before a trip out to Lassen National Park and decided to try one of their scones. The coffee was good and the scone was one of the best I've had in a while. The coffee shop has a fantastic vibe to it. I think it may have at one point been a bar. If this coffee shop where near my home, I think I would be a regular here. read more

I am a huge fan! I remember when the building was run down and dark. It has been transformed into a comfortable and inviting place to get a great cup of coffee, a light lunch or just to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. A coffee shop that doubles as a bar. Who would have thought. The meatball sandwich here was simple in form- meatballs, cheese, bread and it was delicious. It really hit the spot. I was there twice on this trip. The first time was just for beer and I noticed it was very warm inside. The second time was during a power outage caused by the Carr fire. It was hot then, but they barely had power so it was understandable. The saved the electricity to cool the beer- which I appreciate. On a closing note the blueberry sugar cookies were amazing!! read more

For the only coffee shop in this town the customer service is on/off with both attentiveness and politeness. I'm a local by the way. Coffee is my last vice and the coffee here is NOT good. I never had their lattes and such, I'm talking just coffee and it tastes like 2 day old good coffee like A Starbucks that is two days old but drinkable. This coffee shop is more like a place for homeless hippies to drink beer, I hear the beer selection is decent but I don't drink. The owners are excellent folk, present and polite but they hire entitled locals who seem bitter they work there instead of growing pot like The rest of the town. Straight up. read more

Food was really fresh and tasty :-) Servers were nice. The place has a really weird layout. Only downside was it seemed a little dirty :-/ all of there fans were caked with dust. Very noticeable when they are white. read more

So I found myself in a small town called Hayfork and in this restaurant/bar/coffee shop. Went there mid-morning after breakfast for a drink. Really nice and clean inside with a rustic feel to it. The hot chocolate was great and the wood heater kept me nice and toasty on a cold and rainy day. Spent some time talking with the owner, Dennis, who is a great guy and enjoys talking to and meeting new people. Went back to Northern Delights that evening when they were having their Mardi Gras party - with a band, a bar, and seafood gumbo. Good food, great atmosphere. There were adults and kids of all ages. The whole place just has a wonderful vibe to it. Though I may not find myself in Hayfork again, I hope this place continues to thrive. read more

I have been to Hayfork for fires twice in the last 2 months. Each time I was here for a little over a week. Northern Delights was my goto place for food and coffee. The staff is over the top friendly, the coffee is amazing and the food is some of the best I've ever had. The fries are the best!! The friendly atmosphere combined with the locals coming in and out makes for a relaxing place to unwind. If you're in hayfork, this place is a must stop in. read more

the food was ok at best but the lady behind the bar making the food was very rude. shouldn't have to repeatedly ask for water. when the gentleman was taking our order she was shouting over him to someone and we could not hear a thing he was trying to tell us. it was not a good experience. was looking for another place to eat in Hayfork when I am working down there but will not be going back here. read more
