The Bean, as it is now called, should go back to being more Elegant. Customer service sucks since Rae and a few of the other girls quit. You would think for a small town and the ONLY coffee shop they would have friendlier staff. But they do not. Coffee is ok, but a five minute drive north and you can have Starbucks or Dutch Bros, where they are friendly. The bathroom is 'always out of order' too, which I am sure is a health code violation. I hope the owner sees this and has a chat with her staff. The only reason some of us keep going back is convenience and habit. read more

When I'm headed up or down the 5, which I do a lot, and I need me a little pick me up of a cup of coffee, this is the place to stop. Super convenient off the freeway at the Cottonwood exit, located in a little strip mall. I get tired of the same ole Starbucks experience, so this is a nice find. Service is great and it doesn't ever seem too crowded, or maybe just happens when I stop in. I just get a straight small cup of black coffee, that all I need and off I go. If you're traveling the 5 and see the Cottonwood exit, pull off and stop in for a nice cup of coffee or some other coffee drink of your choice. Need to improve customer service. For the last year, everytime Ive popped in while traveing the I-5 freeway they tell everyone the bathrooms "broken" (which is a health code violation/and obviously just an excuse because they don't want to have to offer customers a bathroom). AS a food establishment with sitting area, to meet food codes you have to legally have a place for customers to wash hands etc. The staff tells you to go next store to Holiday Market grocery store. They have a very limited selection of coffees, and the drip coffees are poorly brewed watered down tasting. The baked goods are excellent and homemade, but this place is not worth a special stop. If you own this coffee shop please consider being more customer orientated, and provide a bathroom for your customers besides its a health inspector requirement. Customers don't want to walk 5 stores down to go to the bathroom in 119 degree heat. read more

Ya know how sometimes Mr. Murphy will take a wrench and not just throw it into your day, but he takes the lug nuts off your car at the same time??? This is how I found the Elegant Bean. I was out in the field training a new agent. Our early morning appointment cancelled on us, it started pouring rain, and we needed some energy and a great atmosphere to turn our serious frowns upside down. To say I was at the Grumpy Gills stage would be an understatement. I needed some energy that even all the Coke Whitney Houston wouldn't help. I needed an attitude adjustment that a xanax, klonopin, and prozac couldn't fix. So, we stumbled upon this place. The music that was playing: soft and uplifting, the cute girl at the counter was BEYOND sweet and patient with my impatience at not being able to decide what I wanted. So, she asked what I liked and suggested the White Mocha with Kahlua syrup. I said "Sure why not... what's the worst that could happen?"... Worst that could happen is now a coffee addiction that cannot be stopped. I could wax ecstatic about their coffee for hours. but I'll move on. If you stop in for more than a few minutes and sit on the couch, I must warn you... You better clear your schedule because the next thing you know you'll be taking a nap and missing half the day. It's by far the most comfortable couch I've ever sat in. The ambiance, staff, products, and overall feeling of this place took my day from absolute CRAP to being able to turn my mood around and make a substantial amount of commissions from later appointments. I love this place and dropped the company that shall not be named but charges TOO MUCH for coffee that hails from Seattle in exchange for this place. I'd suggest you do the same! read more

In this open space there is also a Mercantile, which supports local artists handiwork, soaps, clothing.There are all sorts of unique every day and holiday home decor items, too. Won't be going again until they fix this. I want to support this company but I also want to support businesses that are doing everything they can do to keep our county off the watch list.
