Long line but moved pretty quick
    Ashley J.

Great new addition to the Spring Klein area! The line could get long at times, but they really tried to keep it moving. It is drive through or walk up only, so not a place to hang out with friends. I tried several of their lattes but my favorite was the oatmilk latte they had on the menu. Some of their coffee drinks were overly sweet to me, so keep that in mind when ordering. They also have energy drinks which I did not try, but thought it was an interesting offering. What I enjoyed most was the friendly staff. Everyone was kind and welcoming and and had a great attitude, even in the pouring rain. This a a great alternative to the shop across the street!

No, no, no. Just no. Don't go. More watered down and more ice than Starbucks... and that's a hard threshold to beat. Not worth the line, not worth the money, simply not worth it. Go back across the street to Starbucks which is tried and true. Or make your own coffee at home. Or drink water and pretend like it's Dutch Bros coffee, they taste the same anyway.

I'm not sure why so many people have rated this place low. The workers were incredibly kind and the coffee was amazing! Not to mention, the "small" is 16oz! We both ordered the "Golden Eagle," I would say it's comparable to a caramel macchiato from Starbucks, but much smoother and it tastes better all around. The price point was good as well. Try it out, I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Kafeina Kafe isn't just another neighborhood coffee shop; it's a beautifully executed example of…read morewhat modern café culture can be when passion and precision meet intention. From the moment you step inside, it's clear this team operates with a level of care that's increasingly rare. The flavors, the craftsmanship, and the atmosphere all work together so seamlessly that you find yourself wanting to linger long past whatever plans you had. The espresso and coffee program is genuinely exceptional. They treat coffee as an art form, not a commodity. The espresso lands with a velvety crema and a balance of dark chocolate depth and bright acidity that feels perfectly dialed in. Whether it's a classic macchiato or a pour‑over, the execution is consistently thoughtful and technically sound. One note worth mentioning: their chai lattes are made using a concentrate. It's a common choice in cafés, and while it doesn't diminish the overall beverage program, it's helpful context for guests who prefer house‑brewed spice profiles. Everything else on the drink menu reflects a high level of care and consistency. Where Kafeina Kafe truly shines is in the kitchen. The pastries are fresh, flaky, and clearly baked with intention -- that rare crisp‑but‑tender balance that signals real skill. The savory menu is equally impressive, turning daytime staples into memorable dishes. The avocado toast, for example, is vibrant, well‑seasoned, and served on bread that actually supports the toppings instead of collapsing under them. Every ingredient feels chosen, not just used. The ambiance ties everything together. The design blends industrial chic with warm, organic comfort, and the natural light transforms the space throughout the day. Seating is intuitive, offering cozy corners for solo work and open tables for conversation. Even the acoustics and playlist feel curated -- present enough to energize the room, soft enough to let conversations breathe.

I was recovering from a cold so I decided to order a hot herbal tea and was happy to see that they had such a huge selection of loose leaf teas to choose from. My friend also got one of their lattes and we couldn't resist getting a tiramisu before leaving. Overall, we liked everything and I think this place is worth a visit for that Kafeina latte. - Kafeina Latte (4/5): The lady told us that this latte was half white chocolate and half pistachio and we could definitely tastes both flavors. I really liked how they put a lot of pistachio pieces in the drink, giving it a crunchy texture. This drink is definitely on the sweeter side though, so keep that in mind. - Nutty Almond Cream Cinnamon Herbal Tea (4/5): I was very happy with the flavor of this tea. Like the name suggest, it tasted very almond-y and had a good amount of cinnamon flavored. There was also a tangy fruity flavor that followed and reminded me of spiced cider. - Tiramisu (4.5/5): I was really impressed with their tiramisu. The mascarpone layer was very nice and custardy, yet felt so light and refreshing. I also loved how strong the coffee flavor was which helped balance out the dessert and made it not too sweet. Service/Ambiance: Upon entering, I was really surprised by how pretty the interior was with the mixture of gold and wood. I'm not sure how pack this place usually gets because I came at an off time ( like 1 pm), but they had a good amount of tables and seating available. I did see a handful of people studying, so I think this would be a good quiet study spot.

Freshly made, full of flavor, and perfectly balanced. The croissant was buttery and flaky, and everything tasted fresh and well prepared. Simple ingredients done right always stand out. We also ordered an iced Americano, which was smooth and perfectly brewed, and a latte that was just as good. Rich, balanced, and crafted with care. You can tell they take their coffee seriously. The ambiance is great. Comfortable, welcoming, and perfect whether you are meeting someone, working remotely, or just enjoying a quiet coffee break. Huge shoutout to Kate, the store manager, who was absolutely on it. She was moving with confidence and efficiency, putting out drinks back to back without missing a beat. True barista energy. Also a big thank you to Megan in the back of the house for keeping everything running smoothly. Highly recommend Barbarossa Coffee Roasters. Typically when I have a bad experience with a company, I improve my communication in the future and…read moreif all else fails I just pick another place. However, it is obvious that the person that started Barbarossa has a great vision, and we have been going since they were just about to open their second shop. The owner provides above average products yet sadly it is almost always ruined by the incompetence of the hired staff. So I will be sharing my experience today, as well as the pattern of the most baffling interactions I have had over the last year. Today, my partner ordered the breakfast bagel (this comes with avocado), I ordered a croissant with only eggs over hard (this doesn't come with avocado according to their menu). Also it is necessary to ask for eggs over hard otherwise the egg whites will be oozing off your croissant. And I mean this with full disrespect because while cooking is a skill that requires development. How. On. Earth. Do you serve someone a raw egg? It is clearly visible, you don't need a food thermometer, it might literally be the simplest thing to cook. You can practice at home for next to nothing! When you ask for eggs for hard here, they will be close to over medium if you're lucky. Today, since they put avocado on my partners bagel I guess they decided to just add it to mine because why not? Well why not is because it's not on the menu, and I did not ask for it and I'm paying for the item I asked for. Not your random remix. Additionally, every time I order, I make sure to specify I want my matcha UNSWEET. Every time they say "ma'am it doesn't come with sweetner" and I hold my tongue because I know well enough if I don't say that, they add SWEETNER. And since my husband ordered this morning and didn't say unsweet, my Matcha ended up sweet. Once? Fine. Twice? Everyone makes mistakes. It's a drink idc. But every single time unless the customer specifies? Are these people being trained? Do they have the capacity to be trained? And sure you might be thinking wow that's harsh. So I shall share a previous experience. I wanted to purchase a lanyard, we all know a lanyard is about 20 inches long right? Well I asked to buy a lanyard in the drive thru, I was told they didn't sell lanyards, not that they were out of stock. No according to this employee they don't sell them, never have. Mind you I had just seen it in the store a few days earlier. I'm not one to argue so I acted as if it were my mistake. A few days later I stopped inside to see if they had any left in store. They had several, I took it to the register and asked to purchase the lanyard. She said "you mean our dog leashes!" ........... I thought she was pulling a little joke. She wasn't. I'm sorry have you seen someone walk a dog? Have you ever seen a dog leash shorter than 2 feet? Have you ever seen a dog? She genuinely begins to argue with me because she can't find the button for dog leashes in the system. (DUH girl! Because the company you work at doesn't sell dog leashes. How do I know that and you don't?) The manager walked over and chose the LANYARD button to which this young lady says snarkily "oh I guess it is a lanyard". The manager looked bewildered at her and I thought surely he will now realize how lacking his staff is. However that wasn't the case. So I beg. Please train them. Fire them. Replace them with robots please. I don't care. I'm even happy to give them gentle instruction on how to do their job if you'll at least teach them not to talk back. Don't assume they know what a lanyard, or a croissant, or a cup is because it just might be to the failure of your company. Bonus: a lot of these kids seem to not know that the source of sugar is what they call "flavoring" :) If I don't want sugar, it feels like common sense that I don't want vanilla with sugar in it? Sincerely written as a person that supports smaller coffee shops in hopes that they succeed over chains.

I understood they were having power issues and were operating on a generator. Their tablet system appeared to be working, as I could see my order while placing it. I was making a large order for my coworkers and needed an itemized receipt. When I asked for one, I was told they couldn't provide it due to the power outage. I then asked if they could pull up my order on the tablet so I could take a photo of it, and I was told "yes, one second." However, after my order was ready and I followed up, the staff member seemed irritated and repeated that they couldn't provide a receipt because of the power issue. I clarified that I only needed to take a picture of the order on the screen, which I thought we had already agreed on. I also didn't realize that every add-on they offer comes with an extra charge. For example, when asked what kind of milk I wanted, it wasn't mentioned that 2% milk (which is typically the default) had an upcharge. Additionally, when a soft top was offered for an iced drink, it wasn't disclosed that it was a $1.50 extra charge. This was frustrating, as these add-ons were suggested by staff without clarifying the additional cost. While the issue was eventually resolved, I left feeling unhappy with the overall experience. I did return once afterward, but between the inconsistent beverages and the lack of transparency around pricing, I don't think I'll be coming back.
