    Mexican Mocha Hot Coffee
    ChelleBelle V.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Quiet overall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Simple and nice and perfect for a cold day afternoon pick me up or even a fun meet n greet place with friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Hot & cold drinks available with a select mix of baked goods. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seats are solid wood and don't encourage you to stay a while[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very industrial inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Maybe add a corner couch with table in the one area to soften it up or maybe you don't want people to stay too long.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Lol [[HIGHLIGHT]]I enjoyed it for the simple visit in the area that it was.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Lemon poppyseed muffin

Here's a sentence I never thought I'd say- you don't have to enjoy coffee to enjoy this coffee shop. A matter of fact, on my visit, a majority of patrons were not drinking coffee, opting for a fuel energy drink or smoothie instead. About 3/4 of the menu is dedicated to the caffeine loving, black coffee is death enthusiasts featuring heavily milked and syrups favorites, blended chillers, those energy drinks mentioned above, and a coffee less section. Surely with all of this shade, I ordered a drip coffee black, or an Americano. No, I love to drink my sugar in the morning like the next gal! I went for the "blackout"- coffee, milk (or a milk alternative), hazelnut and mocha. Sweet, nutty, chocolatey, dessert coffee :) Apart from the coffee, I'll pass on the lemon poppyseed muffin next time, it was oddly powdery. Other than the food: -restrooms were incredibly clean -staff goes out of their way to help customer. Truly, they're the reason I'd return. -there's a drive thru window if you'd prefer to order your fix incognito - being near the college, high school, and woodlands church, expect that company. Maybe I'm salty bc this location was formerly a Shipley Donuts, and y'all know I love a good Bullseye donut, but I get the feeling that this place is going to do just fine!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Tucked away beneath beautiful lush trees, sits this coffee shop! Artfully crafted interior compliments the coffee and teas that this shop offers! Floor to ceiling wooden lined windows allow for plenty of natural lighting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This shop has plenty of singles seating that allows for great studying spaces if you're going for a quick pick me up and study sesh![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's located in asking distance from Lone Star College and a private school so during lunch hour, you will see lots of students pile in to futile their caffeine cravings![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk and the famous Olympic style muffin. The matcha latte was made of higher grade matcha, had that earth, green tea taste with notes of cinnamon and vanilla from the oat milk. This drink did not require any sweetener! The Olympic style muffin was mid. The chocolate chips coated the top but not throughout. It was still good tho. I also ordered thier breakfast burrito in sausage! This was the highlight of the morning for me! They had a variety of peppers cooked into the burrito which added a savory depth to it! Seasoned with Slap Ya Momma Seasoning (I could just taste it) really knocked this breakfast burrito out of the park!

Really enjoyed our experience here! We got a both of their caramel coffee special drinks and really enjoyed both. The interior is super trendy and nice, and we liked it so much we came back two days in a row.

Green tea with a pump of sugar free raspberry

When I walked in, I waited for 1-2 minutes for them to notice I was at the counter. They charge 20 oz tea for 16 ounces. They charge 50 cents extra for no ice when it's 50 degrees outside. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside pretty sure it's 68 degrees inside. It's freezing inside the coffee shop & they don't offer hot green tea.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When I asked the manager to share with her corporate team she said to post my request on Google reviews and Yelp online. They charge 50 cents for a pump of sugar free raspberry and the tea was weak as it is. So $6.50 for 2/3 of 20 ounce glass no ice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Maybe consider saving money in the electricity bill with temp at 73 degrees and not nickel and diming customers?[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I'd give them a year until they have mold from condensation in the AC unit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music was loud so not a great place to work but it's clean, new and cool wooden tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Nitro Cold Brew
    Brett N.

Why 5 stars? Because the nitro was creamy. And perfect. --- --- --- En route to our nephews birthday party, our son fell asleep in the car. Meanwhile, mom and dad were both really hankering for a nap ourselves, so coffee was not only needed, but necessary to go on with life. As I looked for coffee shops nearby, I was underwhelmed and thought we might even have to settle for the dreaded Starbucks visit. But my wife mentioned that she saw a new coffee shop opened recently called, "blackrock or something?" Sure enough, Black Rock was open and was only 7 minutes away. Everybody wins! But more importantly, we both absolutely loved our drinks. I ordered a nitro and thought it was one of the best I've had in the area. It came out so creamy that I had to confirm that it was indeed black, because it looked like it was full of milk. It was not, that vanilla coloring and bubbles were just from the ultra creamy affect of the nitro pour. And it was delicious. My wife ordered some kind of caramel/vanilla latte type drink, as she does, and was also really happy with it. And she's picky, so they really scored by winning her over. This is not the closest coffee shop to us, but we're in The Woodlands a lot, so it's definitely going to be top of mind for us when we're running around on the weekend. Plus, it has a drive-thru! One note of constructive feedback: the drive-thru window could use a small awning. It was raining when we visited, and without anything to block the rain from getting in the car, things got pretty wet, pretty fast.

    Sugar free white mocha
    Zahir P.

Love this coffee shop. It has delicious coffee and for those who want sugar free options - they have so many more sugar free syrups than other coffee shops. Service is always excellent! They have a nice rewards program too! The only thing I'd change - I wish they have a covering for the drive thru. My car got drenched when it was raining. I can't knock out any stars for this because they offer such good value overall.

    Chai chiller (bland, not recommended)
    Michelle O.

The salted caramel chai (hot) was different and tasted as expected. The salt and caramel worked well with the chai. The chai chiller was disappointing. I was looking forward to a frozen chai and got a drink that tasted like frozen milk. The staff offered to remake it, and I told them the flavors might have settled at the bottom of the carton so please shake it before pouring. The new version had a tiny bit of more cinnamon flavor but still tasted like a bland and icy horchata instead.

he interior of a coffee shop
    Paul W.

Coffee was excellent and service was great. The place was nice and clean with plenty of places to sit. My only real complaint was the food. The oven was down, so the only thing available warm were breakfast tacos. The tacos were good, just not that I really wanted.

Got a quad shot with lavender and white mocha SOOO good!
    Courtney E.

Just opened and SOOOO good the woodlands needed a black rock! The coffee is next level, so skip the ridiculous Starbucks line and mediocre coffee and get a great coffee here! Ps- they even have great options for kids!

The establishment itself gets 5 stars. however, I will have to mention that some of you parents need to get hold of your kids. Kid friendly does not translate to letting your kids run feral while you talk with your friend. While I was there, there was a kid running up and down the stairs. All other patrons aside from mom kept watching this child as it was an accident waiting to happen. Then he was attempting to go into the actual cafe part (where the workers are) and thankfully the front staff was more attentive to the kid than its own parent. On top of that, this child was barefoot and putting his feet in his mouth. People need to do better Another thing that I observed was that a few customers were had their shoes off and putting there bare feet on the couches. This is a business not your home.

I do not like most mushrooms and didnt know this before coming but I still liked the coffee, as it seemed a little less heavy than traditional coffee for some reason. They have a decent food selection consisting of pastries and house-made latin/american dishes ranging from homemade chips and guacamole to Chilequiles. Note that all food is either vegetarian or vegan. The theme of the place is artisenal Latin/Mexican. If you dine in, you will receive your cold drink in a tall ceramic mug/cup most likely in an Aztec/Mexican style, while the hot drinks will be served in a mug and the food is served on festive plates. They play light Latin music in the background. They don't really advertise their syrups if you come in for an iced latte like me, but basically any of their artisanal coffees can be made iced or cold and you can choose from any of those ingredients/syrups in those choices to flavor your own custom latte. I also added a slice of banana bread from the pastry case adjacent to the register. The alchemist - a pretty light tasting latte with obvious notes of cinnamon. I liked it. Banana bread - more like a triple slice of bread. Its gluten free and very dense. A little on the dry side, obviously. Overall, I can see why they're highly rated. A must visit if you want to try some of the best coffee woodlands has to offer.

When I stopped by on a weekday evening at 9pm it was packed. They had stations setup throughout the store to order different goods, which helped to alleviate the rush. For example, with the Turkish delights and ice cream selections, only a few items are labeled. For most of them, you have to guess the flavor or ingredients. Given that weve had to give up so much in the coffee drinking experience we try and get what we do consume to taste as fresh as possible so weve turned to getting our decaf beans roasted locally. Weve tried a couple of places in Houston and just recently came across District Coffee. Once we checked their website and made sure it was swiss water processed and not bathed in paint stripper chemicals we decided to give them a try... the head roaster Alex is a humble guy who has a family operated business near the 249/Cypress area. I drove out to the District headquarters to pick up a pound of decaf and Alex gave me a tour around the facility which was modest, but professional. Before i left, Alex asked about the reason for decaf and i explained that we mix it with regular to create a half caff blend and with that he walked over to a bin in the shop and pulled out an additional bag of whole bean half caff blend of their signature roast and said it was "on the house" since i had come all the way out from the Sugar Land area. Wow. Now that was unexpected and also very nice considering gas costs near four bucks these days. We just had a pour over cup of that this morning and it was very, very smooth. If the regular whole bean decaf is anywhere close to the smoothness of this signature half caff roast we will most likely add District coffee to our regular rotation of coffees for our morning routine. Thanks Alex. Good luck to you and your family and we'll spread the word about your brand. Take care.
