Super friendly staff! Seriously she made my day. Loved the set up so that it's quick and they're not clogging the parking lot of other business like the location I'm used to. Loved the music inside the kiosk. Made me feel more awake and ready to get my day going. Soooo many choices! You could go here every day for a year and probably not have had everything. The only reason I left off a star was because of the drink itself. The drink I get at Starbucks has the exact same name but this one was waaay too sweet. So while on vacation in Phoenix, I decided Dutch Bros had to be a stop as I've seen so many of my friends who live in the Valley posting about their obsession with the place. The coffee was decent, but I feel like I must have ordered something wrong or not gotten what they're known for. I ordered a mocha and it was okay. Not the best, but not the worst I've ever had. It tasted like it was maybe made with chocolate milk base instead of mixing in chocolate, but otherwise unremarkable. I did kind of like the shape of their lid though - it made it quite easy to drink while driving, even if it did make me feel sometimes like I was sucking a nipple from a baby bottle. My mom got an orange soda that was meh. It wasn't super flavorful. My daughter opted for the gummy bear soda. It was way too sweet for me, but she really enjoyed the sugar blast. And she liked the cup it came in, which was also good for being in the car. If I lived in the area, I don't know if I could tolerate the long lines and driving through the maze of cones to get up there. And for a visitor, the person taking the order 5 cars back from the menu who had never visited before was frustrating. read more

While visiting Arizona I was introduced by my daughter to Dutch Bros coffee and I fell in love with it. We don't have one in Hawaii so it was a treat to stop by a Dutch Bros on S Rural Road in Tempe and at the 24 hour one on East Camelback Road. I had the Kicker (iced) which was delicious and the traditional hot mocha. Everyone in my family enjoyed their coffee drinks. This place is staffed by kids who don't give a crap about the line of cars blocking parked cars from getting out. They used to break the line with a security guard to allow that, but today they were taking orders behind me while I was trying to get out of the lot but they had me blocked in (parking spots behind Circle K). The drinks are great, but we keep going back because the customer service is top notch. The ONLY complaint is the drive thru wait, which we just come to expect now. Let me start by saying that Dutch Bros has always been my favorite spot for any kind of beverage. I am so loyal to them as a company, so I was EXTREMELY disappointed that this location had a security guard who made me and my fiance go to the back of the line because we did not see their crazy setup of cones on the other end of the complex. I kid you not, theres a big gap between where the cones don't connect & so many cars would get in between, but for some reason this "security" felt it necessary to make us move. Dutch Bros is known to have mad crazy lines and awkward small talk but this location has got to be the worst! For starters, they have security guard to direct traffic. So be careful where you enter through. If you make that right in from Rural, you might not see any cars in sight - but that's because they're across the lot and around the corner. Apparently it's our due diligence to drive around the whole plaza to make sure of this or you'll be kicked out of the drive thru line once you get up close enough to finally order. Seeing as the drive thru is always over 15 cars deep in the morning.. I walked up to the store front line. There were 3 people. I figured it would be a 10-15 minute wait max. Yeah. I was wrong. The worker literally made in-depth conversations with every single customer in front of me; whether they engaged or not. Talking about her past job experience and all things irrelevant to all of us trying to grab our caffeine fix at 7:00 AM. I saw at least 10 cars pass by before one customer even received their drink in the standing line. I'm convinced their method is to stall you with fabricated conversation while drinks are backed up. Obvious preferential treatment to certain guests is a good way to lose customers. Since I moved to Tempe (2 years ago) I've been coming to this Dutch Bros. They where making coffee for the two guys behind me. They made the drinks and sat them at the window. I stood there waiting, awkwardly. The girl who was previously working the window was just standing bordley by the fridge doing nothing. It's almost like she was hiding rather than talk to me. So not only did I have to stand at the window while they served men BEHIND me, but it was awkward. I do notice that I never have this problem when my boyfriend is with me. On the contrary... Suddenly they have so much to say! They should really treat their female customers better. At the end of the day women are around half of your customers. Wow! Went on a Sunday afternoon, and there was an enormous line, but I guess it's to be expected. My 4 instead of 5 stars is because I did not think my Golden Eagle freeze tasted as good as it has at other locations. It seemed a bit more bitter and covered up by lots of sweetness. Iced Cocomo chocolate coconut coffee! If you need a premium caffeine fix with the speed and convenience of a drive through, Dutch Bros Coffee is the way to go. This was my first experience, and it was good! The quality of the coffee is exceptional with a wide variety of coffee flavors. I ordered a "Cocomo" (Chocolate / Coconut) and my brother-in-law tried the "Annihilator" (White Chocolate / Macadamia nut) ice coffee. I tried both and I think mine was a little richer and sweeter, but I preferred his coffee which was a tad bit lighter with a more nuttier taste. Prices are on par for any premium coffee, service was fast and friendly and I like the idea of not having to leave the car when it's 106 degree's outside. All iced coffee's are upgraded to a medium or large size and multiple shots of espresso can be added for an additional charge. Recommendation: Try the "Annihilator" if you like a more of a nuttier flavor coffee that isn't too sweet. Drive through is awesome! read more

Lines are always long at certain times of the day. People don't follow the signs for where to pull up and staff does not enforce them. This puts a strain on customers for the other businesses. Because the customer for dutch bros dont want you cutting in front of them in order to leave the complex. This morning I was trying to leave the complex and because the staff allowed cars to line up blocking traffic from entering or leaving the complex at that entrance a Dutch Brose customer tried to ram my car because they thought I was cutting in line in reality. I was driving where I was supposed to to try to get out. Unfortunately the Dutch Brose unofficial line had blocked that whole area.. I just can't support a business that is totally oblivious of the other businesses clients. I like this place a lot. The Iced Annihilator is my drink. The problem is that they're expensive and you just feel like you drank a bottle of cream afterward. I always make the skim adjustment but I still feel a bit slower after drinking one. I also wish there were more food options. I guess that's more of a coffee shop thing though and less of a drive through type thing. Last thing: this is really less of an issue because the walk-up line is always non-existent, but holy heck that drive thru line is always out of control! This has been our go-to place since it opened. Unfortunately recent staff changes (which happen when you employ mostly college students) have resulted in longer wait times and much less accuracy on my order. My go-to is large hot black tea with cream. Of the last 10 times I've ordered that it's been right 2 times. Usually they forget the cream and twice it's been coffee not tea. Not a huge deal to get it fixed - except the lines are crazy and they keep changing the parking lot set up so no one knows where the line starts and ends.
